Pure Junk. Don’t Waste Your $
Pure junk. As soon as you cut it, the outer layer frays, and the inner layers start unwinding. Says 4mm, but maybe 2 or 3. I cut it to tie some tree stakes. It’s all coming apart in 1 day. Since I used some, cannot return. Don’t waste you $$.

VERY Nice Paracord –
I’ve been using paracord for over 40 years, none of it to parachute or make lanyards or bracelets. But 20 years military and 20 years after, I’ve used USGI 550 cord and a lot of non-USGI cord. This stuff seems to be right & tight. I yanked the 12 inner strands, all 3-thread and taking a 3 strand apart – your fish shouldn’t break that tiny line unless you are ocean fishing. And for you dear reader, I took the empty outer casing ( zero inner-strand backup) and I suspended my 190 pound body a foot off the ground from a swing set for about a minute ( notice my safety level – one foot off the ground). Empty outer sheath wasn’t damaged at all.Pro Tip – USGI 550 Type 3 cord is professionally tested with calibrated smooth and polished equipment.WORKING Load on ALL ropes and cords is usually around 1/3 of the break weight. So new factory fresh and batch tested 550 cord has a Working load of about 183 pounds. This stuff is advertised as 1,000 lbs line. So working load should be 330 pounds maximum.20 years in the military, I never ever saw anything dropped out of a plane with one little cord. Total opposite – we used LOTS of cords, even to drop concrete training blocks.Fun story – In my younger, 120 pound days, I had two strands of issue 550 Type 3 cord snap and drop me like a rock out of a hammock. Moral of the Story is – Don’t use parachute cord to suspend items. It’s designed for falling. Sure, it’ll work for bear bags and such. Definitely not climbing cord.

This is falsely rebranded 550!!
Same diameter and tightness of weave as 550 paracord from Walmart. Seems they’re taking 550 and re-branding it as 1000 lb cord. Half the diameter of the 1000 lb paracord from Walmart.

It gets tangled like a hose.
This paracord stinks. I bought 100 ft of green, and it came wrapped around cardboard. When I went to unwind it from the cardboard, where it was bent around the cardboard stays bent. You have to pull it to straighten it. Then if you let it go slack, it bends and twists back. I’m returning it. It’s useless.
