Cats love it! We’ve tried various cat scratching posts and all the rest were of poor construction and made for small cats or kittens. This one is solid and tall enough. And yhe cost fit our budget ❤️

Too big for my cats (at least, they don’t seem to know what to do with it.
Structurally/materially the quality is good, though I wish it were just a little heavier in the base for more stability.But neither of my cats seem to know what to do with it and have barely touched it compared to the scratching post built into the cat tree.I think if it were sturdier/heavier then they’d feel more comfortable pushing against it and scratching.

Sturdy for rough play
I wasn’t sure if our kitty would like this since the toy balls attached to it are not stretchy at all. But I tied a string there and our kitty liked that. Milo is a very active and playful cat, he plays very aggressively with this post . He even bites on it too. It seems to be sturdy enough for aggressive kitty play. But it is fraying now from scratching. Hopefully this would last long. If not, I won’t mind buying another one since it’s good quality and easy assembly.

Doesn’t hold up
As you can see from the photos, our cat loves it. Unfortunately, after just a couple of months of use, the carpet part of the scratching post is damaged in 2 places and the balls with bells no longer have bells attached and ate no longer round.The last scratching post we had was nearly identical to this one and held up to 5 years of multiple cats using it. This one held up less than 2 months with one cat using it.2 stars for the height, ease of putting it together, and our cat’s love of it.

Surprisingly good!
The reviews are really great for this, but it’s always a tossup as to whether or not a cat is going to like a particular scratching post. Plus, when it first arrived, I thought the black sections were made of a strange material, and I worried that my cats would not be interested or would think the smell was weird. But luckily, they actually really like it and seemed to take to it right away. Even my finicky cat uses it almost daily! So I definitely say it’s worth a shot!

Does not last long without help
Lasted less than a month but worth it at the sale price for our purposes. We have an eclectic mix of enthusiastic scratchers so the felt-like material covering the lower portion was showing gaping holes within the first few weeks. The rope started falling away a week later. At least one missing star is due to the tattiness of the rope that left what looked like the shavings of a blonde goat all over the floor as it disintegrated under cat claws.Flaws aside, it is a good size–even my forest kitty can get his scratch on and only tip it over once or twice a week. So almost a month to the day later with a bit of scrap carpet from a neighbor’s new install, some 6mm rope, the trusty glue gun, upholstery mallet, and an hour’s effort and the clowder of destruction has a better-than-new scratching post that barely looks touched despite almost hourly attention from one chonk or another. If I had not already intended to refurbish the post as needed I might have rated it lower given just how naff the ”carpeted” portion was and the messiness of the original rope.

Although I worried it was too short for my big 18lb tabby, It fits just right and stays strong against my cats weight pulling on it , due to the heavy base. Wood frame is key to a heavy enough base. I give this 5 Stars! Love it !!
