These connected right away to my phone and they require no active pairing other than turning one or both mics on. The sound quality is good overall, it is a little tinny but for under 30 that is expected.The clips included work very well too.I would not suggest hiding the pop filter otherwise the sound pretty much disappears.The battery life has held up well and we used these for a school video and throughout 8 total hours of recording they never required a charge.Highly recommend!
