Awesome Set of Glow Glasses!
I frequently purchase glow party accessories for an annual event held at my school. This set of glow glasses is AWESOME! The glasses are incredibly well made, lightweight, and stylish. Unlike some of the other versions where only the top glow, the entire glasses frame lights up and is super bright. There is a small button at the top of each pair of glasses that allows the user to change lighting modes, and it is very easy to use. Highly recommend!

Not As Advertised
I rated this one star because what I received is not what was advertised. Even though I received the shades in exchange for my review, I’d be annoyed if I paid for a product and got something completely different. The rest of the review is an unbiased description of what I did get:The light up shutter shades arrived in a cardboard box, with each pair individually wrapped in plastic (packaged like the disposable utensil packs that restaurants and fast food chains give out). If the frames were sized like eyeglasses, these would be between adult medium and large. The shades came in 10 colors: opaque white, opaque baby pink, translucent hot pink, translucent red, translucent orange/dandelion yellow, translucent light/lemon yellow, translucent lime green, opaque baby blue, translucent royal blue, and translucent fuchsia/purple. There were two glasses of each color. The red and hot pink are hard to tell apart, as are the orange and yellow.The glasses are pretty flimsy, with the strongest piece being the frames with the shutters in them. That plastic is thicker, more durable, and less pliable than the temples/arms that sit on your ears. The temples are wobbly since they’re not secured onto the frames very well with a tight fit. They are so thin that I could easily snap break them in half or off the frames without much effort. All of the temples are opaque – regardless of what color the frames are – but they otherwise match the frame color (they may be a few shades lighter or darker in color, but it’s hardly noticeable).Instead of a strip of light around the frames, there are three different colored lights along the top edge of the frame. There’s a blue light on the left, a pink light in the middle, and a green light on the right. The lights make the batteries (that are stored in the middle behind the frames) more obvious in the translucent frames, especially in person. Most of the lights are very bright, though they are muted in the opaque frames. Some of the glasses seem to have a loose connection or dying batteries, because their lights were markedly dimmer than the rest. The red shutter frames pictured were flickering between a dim and brighter light on the “on” setting. The glasses have 3 light settings to toggle through with the black silicone button: quick flashing, slow flashing, and on (no flashing). It’s nice that the button is soft in case the glasses bump into your face, but you have to press harder to toggle between each mode. The batteries are already installed and the glasses are ready to go (just remove the paper tag) from the box.If you have an eyeglass repair kit (not included) or a very small phillips screwdriver (not included), you can unscrew the 2 screws behind the frame to replace the batteries, fix the LED wiring, or remove the lights altogether. The lights, wiring, and batteries all come out as one piece when you remove the plastic cover holding it in the frame. There’s no glue attaching any part of the LED system onto the plastic frames or cover, so you could potentially swap it out with nicer lights or something else entirely. The glasses are not waterproof or water resistant, since there are openings in the frames where the button is and where the batteries are.The shutter shades are nice quality considering they’re cheap, bulk party favors. It’s a fun, unique party favor to give out or make yourself more visible in a crowd. They should easily last a few hours, but need to be treated carefully if you want to keep them for longer.
