A good middle ground of small and useful
Since this controller is so unique, it’s a little hard to explain why I like it so much. For those who are already familiar with 8bitdo this controller might look pretty similar to their Zero 2 controller. I have pretty average hand size, and even then the Zero 2 was incredibly small, but the fact that it was so portable and gave me enough buttons to play everything on the 16 bit generation was worth it. It was a little hard to play anything else, and was looking for an upgrade. That’s where the Lite 2 comes in. If this controller just had two joysticks it would already be a large improvement, but with the dpad and extra two triggers, this controller is effectively fully loaded for any game. With that said, you do lose a handful of features if you compare this with, say, 8bitdo’s Pro 2 controller. With the Pro 2, you get analog triggers, a more ergonomic feel and larger size for comfort, and recently, they’ve even added hall effect sensors to the joysticks, meaning that they use magnets instead of accelerometers, meaning they are more accurate and are less prone to drifting. Perhaps the question of whether or not you would get the Lite 2 over the Pro 2 is what you want to use it for. If you need a small controller to take on the road without giving up any features for a standard controller, then this is incredibly useful. If you’re looking for a controller to be your default one to use on pc or switch, then you should check what else 8bitdo has.

Works great with iPhone 12 no update needed
This little controller work great for playing retro roms in delta on iOS for iPhone 12. It worked right out of the box. The joysticks and buttons feel great. The L/R are not pressure sensitive, but they are perfect for what I am playing. Highly recommend unless you have large hands. The 8bitDo lite 2 is very small. It is my edc on the go. At home I use a full size controller.pluR

Required firmware update and help from support
I used it for one day and then it wouldn’t charge. I used every cable and charger I have. Cables and chargers that I knew worked. It just had a red blinking light telling me the battery was low. I worried it was a waste of money, so I contacted support. Someone was able to point me to a firmware updater and instructions on how to power the controller on/off (hold L+R+home) that, as far as I could find, wasn’t in the manual. Using that, I was able to update the controller and it working again, at least for now. It’s frustrating, but it works now. As far as the controller itself, I do think it’s fine: it’s about the size of two Joy-cons stuck together, the control pad is stiff, and the “A” button sticks sometimes, but it’s easy to hold in one hand and works pretty well, so take that as you will.

Budget friendly and Portable controller (if you don’t mind the Joysticks)
I’m impressed with this tiny little gamepad. Nice design, not very ergonomic but isn’t uncomfortable to use. It has vibration and motion controls which are a nice detail for this range of price and what really made me rate this 5 stars is the fact that even though it looks somewhat fragile it actually can take a rough session of gameplay for a long time. The way you can swap between Switch and Android/PC mode is very easy and it’s enough with doing it once. It can fit in my pocket even though it isn’t as slim as Lite 1, nevertheless it still has a lot of portability. Recommended.(Also, the included pin is an add-on I really appreciate)

Won’t hold. Charge
Really liked it at first and was the perfect size for my 3 yr olds little hands. But after only 2 months it does not work at all. Won’t hold a charge long enough to even turn on the Switch.

Perfect kid or travel controller
My girls love playing Switch, but their little hands always struggled with normal controls, and they didn’t like using just Joycons all the time. These are light, durable, perfect for toddler or small kid hands, and especially great for travel as well. With the D-input setting, it can also be used with Android emulation devices, and our Steam Deck, which makes for a great time when docked to the TV. For the money, these are ideal.

Alright for specific use cases
Purchased this a while back for a secondary and travel controller. The buttons are a bit loose for my taste and the size of the controller made it more taxing for gaming given the larger size of my hands. If you have smaller hands, this may be an alright solution for you.It was a bit difficult for the controller to register joystick presses. I had incredible difficulty pushing the joystick straight down to even map keys for an emulator. I didn’t keep this long enough to verify how accurately this would happen during gameplay but if triggering your joypad is important, steer clear of this model.I replaced this with the clear blue NES style controller.

Good size and works great
I love my 8Bitdo Lite 2 Bluetooth Controller. It’s the perfect size for me, not too big or too small. It fits in my pocket and I can take it anywhere. I use it mainly for playing retro games on emulators. It works great and feels responsive. It’s a fun and convenient way to enjoy classic games.

Adorable. Comfy for my small hands. I donât like using big bulky controllers, this is an amazing alternative. Iâd definitely buy another if 8BitDo happened to release other colours. Just an idea! Hehe

I tried the 8bitdo pro but it’s too large and heavy for me to be comfortable. This isn’t advertised as being usable with Windows but it works fine with Steam on “D” mode and there is other software that will allow you to interface with other Win PC games unofficially. However the buttons are quite loose and feel kind of cheap, like they might pop out of place after enough use or if it was dropped a lot. The USB-C charging port is very tight and also feels like it might break after a while. There is no visual indication of battery level either so without official Windows support there’s no way to know when the battery is going to run out. Fortunately it’s quite long lasting and I keep it off in between uses. After 135 hrs of Elden Ring its still working fine but occasionally if there are too many Bluetooth devices connected to the computer there is lag from interference, I don’t think that’s the controllers fault but worth knowing. If the person using it likes to play with dirty hands or are tough on controllers this probably won’t last long. But there aren’t a lot of options for wireless controllers for small hands out there right now so at least it’s not super expensive (35 CAD).

Really like the size and shape of this controller vs the joy cons! I love 8bitdo products, I have 4 controllers from them, they all work great, sadly that streak has been broken. I had the controller sitting face up on a coffee table the whole 3 days I had it, used it for probably a total of 3-4 hours, today the left joystick began drifting significantly and I’ve done everything I can think of to ensure it is not just stuck from dirt or dust. Will be returning, but I’ll probably be buying the ultimate controller! For the price, this is still a good controller despite the drift, because all of the joycons I have ever bought all drift and they cost double.

This controller is perfect to throw in a bag and take on the go with your switch. It matches perfectly to my coral switch lite. Connected instantly to my switch and it’s easy to change it over to connect to a PC.
