Sharp lens with character
The lens is fairly sharp. Build quality is good and lens isn’t too big or heavy compared to using the sigma 1.4 adapted. AF is quiet and just about silent. The lens flares in backlit shots. Some may like this for an effect or character so not the worst thing. I liked this for my last wedding shoot. AF is not the fastest but works well to get the eye in portraits.

Perfect portrait lens for my new Nikon Z 5. Lovely bokeh, nice crisp edges throughout the image. I have yet to find fault with this lens, especially since I was expecting issues due to the reviews and the price. As a 51 year working photographer, I can appreciate this gem of a lens, an unexpected find. I would put it up against any Voightlander lens, and most of the Canadian-built Leica lenses.

A nice quality lens with some drawbacks
As mentioned in other reviews, I find that this lens gives a very good quality image, sharpness, and color for the price point. I find it to be a very nice prime lens that has a very good build quality and auto-focuses quickly. F1.4 makes this lens very versatile in any situation. The closest focusing distance is about 3ft which is not great but to be expected from a non-macro lens at this price point.The two drawbacks are the size/weight and vignetting. This lens is a bit larger and heavier than my Tamron zoom which makes me hesitate to bring this lens with me on certain shoots when I’m trying to keep my kit light. While 85mm is a great focal length for portraits and events, I find that I don’t use it as much in my shoots. With my Tamron zoom lens, I tend to shoot non-formal portraits at events with the 135mm focal length. It allows me to be further away which lets me capture better candid moments. I ended up using this 85mm more in the studio for formal portraits.The second draw back is the vignetting. I find that there’s a lot more vignette with this lens than it should be given the larger diameter and the fact that it’s a prime lens. While I have not found the more prominent vignette to be a bit issue, some may find it less than ideal. It’s not a difficult thing to remove in Lightroom but it is an extra step to have to add in the workflow.Overall, this is an excellent quality lens for the price. If you need a prime 85mm in your kit, I would highly recommend this one as long as the weight and vignette doesn’t bother you.

Great portrait lens!
Given the price of native Nikon glass, I’ve purchased a few third-party lenses to bolster my collection of Z-mount lenses. I am a hobbyist photographer and want to keep my equipment quality high, but prices low. This Meike is an excellent quality portrait lens and I recently used it for family holiday portraits. The results were amazing!Build Quality: The build quality is excellent! This thing is solid, but on the heavy side. That’s to be expected given the 1.4 aperture. I’ve included a photo of this Meike lens next to my Nikon F-mount 85mm f/1.8 to give a size comparison. The Meike f/1.4 is about 1.5x the size of the Nikon f/1.8. The lens looks modern and has some cool red accents.Autofocus: The only minor complaint I have is the autofocus can be a bit slow at times. Usually, it’s quick and snappy, but sometimes it hunts. It works great on both of my mirrorless cameras (Nikon Z6ii and Z30). It integrates seamlessly with Nikon’s system and operates almost as well It’s easy to switch to manual focus with the switch on the side.Bokeh: The aperture ring is a really cool feature! You change the f-stop on the lens rather than on the camera. This is great for quickly changing as needed. I did this as I took portraits—as the group got bigger, I went to a higher aperture. Bokeh is superb! The bokeh is very creamy and helps highlight the subject. This lens helps me isolate the person/group to effectively eliminate any distractions in the background.If you’re looking for a great alternative to the Nikon NIKKKOR Z 85mm f/1.8, get this! It is over $200 less expensive, you get a lower aperture for a comparable lens, and it shoots excellent photos. The quality is amazing and the price of this Meike 85mm f/1.4 is right!

Auf der Suche nach einem bezahlbaren Teleobjektiv für meine SONY ZV-E10 II, hatte ich mich für den Hersteller MEIKE entschieden. Der Preis ist gegenüber den Originalen von SONY interessant und ob’s bei meiner neuen spiegellosen Kamera passt und funktioniert. Leider gibt es noch kein Zubehör für diese Kamera, bzw. dieses Modell (E10 II) ist nirgends gelistet.Sehr gut geschützt verpackt wurde das Objektiv mit Front- und Rückdeckel, einer Gegenlichtblende und englisch/chinesischen Anleitung geliefert. Mein erster Eindruck war gut, denn qualitativ machte das Objektiv einen guten Eindruck. Es verfügt über einen AF/MF Schalter, eine programmierbare Taste und einen USB-C Anschluss für Firmware-Updates.Welche Vorteile bietet überhaupt ein Teleobjektiv? Sie sind, im Vergleich zum Normalobjektiv, mit längerer Brennweite und kleinerem Bildwinkel ausgestattet. Sie können, weiter entfernte Objekte, wie bei einem Fernglas, vergrößern und so näher heranzuholen. Sie eignen sich aber auch ideal für Porträts, da die große Blende ein wunderschönes Bokeh-Effekt erzeugt, wo sich das Hauptmotiv von Hintergrunddetails abhebt. In der Sportfotografie ermöglicht die hohe Lichtstärke schnelle Verschlusszeiten, um bewegte Motive scharf einzufangen.Dieses Objektiv besteht aus einem Polycarbonatgehäuse und die Linsen sind in Metall gefasst. Alles ist sauber verarbeitet. Dann der spannendste Moment, die Anbringung an meiner neuen Sony. Objektiv angebracht, Kamera eingeschaltet und ein automatischer Weißabgleich wurde ausgeführt. Natürlich mit Frontdeckel drauf. Danach probierte ich die ersten Schnappschüsse, was überraschend gut gelang, auch was die Fokussierung angeht, mit einem wunderschönen Bokeh-Effekt. Cool, dass es so problemlos funktioniert. Ich brauchte auch kein Firmware-Update durchführen und dabei beließ ich es dann auch. Mit der Funktionstaste (neben dem AF/MF Schalter), gedrückt gehalten, lässt sich das Motiv sperren, damit es scharf bleibt, bei Bewegung der Kamera.Für Kamera Filter ist ein Gewinde vorhanden, allerdings für 77mm große ND/CPL. Auch wenn es viel Konkurrenz am Markt gibt, kann dieses Objektiv absolut mithalten. Denn ich brauchte bis jetzt keine Einschränkungen hinnehmen oder Funktion verzichten. Außerdem finde ich das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis top. Die Leistung, Funktionen und Verarbeitung sind gut, ähnlich wie die teuren Marken. Die Lautstärke des Motors zum Fokussieren hört man ganz leicht, was noch im grünen Bereich ist. Für Videos habe ich einfach ein separates Mikrofon, etwas entfernt von der Kamera, am Kamerakäfig angesetzt und so konnte ich das recht gut minimieren. Alles in allem bin ich mit diesem 85mm F1.4 AF STM A Teleobjektiv mit E Mount für Sony sehr zufrieden und kann es gern weiterempfehlen.Vielen Dank, dass Du Dir die Zeit genommen hast meine Rezension zu lesen. Ich hoffe, dass ich damit ein wenig, auch mit den Fotos, weiterhelfen konnte.

Ich habe schon alle die Jahre immer viel mit 85mm fotografiert, ob an Vollformat, oder dann umgerechnet mit mehr Brennweite an APSC.Was ich interessant finde. Die Leute neigen dazu bei günstigen Herstellern zu bemängeln, wenn ein Objektiv aus Kunststoff ist, welches sich faktisch genauso anfühlt und ähnlich aussieht übrigens, wie mein SONY 70-350 G-Serie APSC-Objektiv, wo es komischerweise nie einer bemängelt (obwohl es auch 630€ kostet)…ach ja, ist ja Sony….Das nur vorweg, denn ich finde man sollte nicht mit zweierlei Maß messen, nur weil unterschiedliche Marken dahinter stehen.MEIKE liefert hier wirklich ab mit diesem AF Objektiv.Features die mir gefallen:< Es ist weather-sealed ! Bedeutet es besitzt eine Dichtung gegen Staub- und Feuchtigkeit (roter Ring)< Der Fokusring läuft geschmeidig< Man hat zusätzlich einen manuellen Blendenring, der klicky ist und genau Rückmeldung gibt< Es ist nicht leicht, weil eben viel Glas verbaut ist, welches gut vergütet ist< Wenig CAs im Vergleich mit dem Nikon 85mm 1.8< Ab Blende 1.8 hat man deutlich mehr Kontrast, wenn man gegen Licht fotografiert. Das ist super.< Autofokus an der Zfc und auch an der Z6II hervorragend und nicht zu laut< Sehr schönes und harmonisches Bokeh< Randunschärfe ist ab Blende 4 schon kein Thema mehr und an einem Protrait-Objektiv eh 2.rangig< USB-C Anschluss für Firmware-Updates vom Objektiv, welches dadurch nochmal verbessert wurde< Gute Gegenlichtblende bereits mit dabei (Hallo Canon, wie wär's mal wieder sowas zu machen ;-)Was gefällt mir nicht:< Aktuell nichts zu bemängeln, denn es hat mein Nikon 85mm f1.8 ersetzt und ich vermisse nichts.Ein 85mm f1.4 Lichtmonster von Portrait-Objektiv, welches ich an APSC und Vollformat gern nutze, weil es einfach gut funktioniert und mindestens 97% aller Hobbyfotografen mehr als glücklich machen sollte. So ein Equipment wie heute, macht es einem alles so denkbar leicht schöne Bilder zu machen und mit der richtigen Komposition, ist auch das MEIKE Objektiv mit Sicherheit nie ein Problem. Das Problem sitzt oder steht wenn vor der Kamera. Der Preis von dem Objektiv ist stark und nicht nur für das was es leistet, sondern weil fast alle da draußen nie mehr bräuchten.
B-Halz –
Das Objektiv versprüht durchaus eine hohe Wertigkeit und die optische Leistung ist gemessen am Preis echt beeindruckend.Es ist an einer A7IV schon bei offenblende scharf und hat nur eine geringe Vignettierung, bei Blende 2.0 wird die Schärfe nochmal etwas besser und die Vignettierung nimmt noch was ab, mehr abblenden bringt nur noch wenige Steigerungen.Ich hab mal eine mittige Vergrößerung aus dem ISO Test Chart 12233 erstellt. Das erste Bild wurde mit Blende 1,4 und das zweite Bild 2 bei Blende 2 aufgenommen.Um die geringe Vignettierung zu veranschaulichen hab ich Bilderreihe mit den Blenden 1.4, 2.0 und 4.0 aufgenommen (Bild 3 -5).Der einzige Knackpunkt ist evtl. der Autofokusmotor, er ist zwar nicht der aller schnellste, funktionierte aber bei meinen Kindern zum Testen gut (bei ca. 7-8 von 10 waren die Augen scharf, aber es gab auch keine krassen Ausreiser).Ich muss mal schauen wie sich das Objektiv im Alltag schlägt, aber biss jetzt macht es einen sehr guten Eindruck.Den Stern Abzug gibt’s bei mir lediglich für den manuellen Blendenring. Ich weis es ist Geschmackssache, ist einfach nicht so ganz meins. Es werden aber alle daten, inkl. der Blende, durchgereicht.
R. Hinz –
Das Objektiv liegt gut in der Hand, nach etwas Probieren hat auch die Gegenlichtblende so gerastet, wie sie sollte. Bei Blende 1,4 gibt es eine merkliche Vignette, das stört mich persönlich nicht. Mich stört, dass die kleinste Blende nicht verriegelbar ist, meine Erfahrung mit anderen Objektiven: Wenn es hektisch wird, ist das eine Fehlerquelle. Die Anleitung gibt es nicht auf Deutsch; ich wollte ein Software-Update machen, aber mein PC hat das Objektiv nicht erkannt. Abzug für den Stern im Wesentlichen: Fehlende Arretierung. Sonst eine interessante Porträt-Linse.
