Great mouse if you like trackball
Great mouse if you like a trackball. This was my first time trying a trackball mouse, and while the first day of use I had to use more brain maneuvering my curser on the screen, it grew on me. Trackball was sensitive, but trackball sensitivity and buttons can be adjusted if Logi+ is downloaded on your computer/laptop. Buttons are clicky and have a nice rebound or response, and you will hear clicking. But it was overly loud. More like if you like the click sound it will be satisfying, but if not itâs about as loud as a standard mouse. Normally I wouldnât spend so much on a mouse but after recent wrist pains while working figured it was time to be ergonomic minded. So good value, easy to set up – just hold down Bluetooth button and laptop quickly found the device, it is heavier than other mice but you arenât moving it.I did decide to return the mouse, but itâs not because itâs a bad mouse. I purchased the Logitech Lift at the same time so I could see which, if any, would help with my wrist pain. The Lift is a vertical mouse and helped more with the pain. I did seriously contemplate keeping both mice so I could have the flexibility and ability to use both – keep things fresh with my wrist. But after a couple weeks I tended to use the vertical mouse more and didnât want to watch a $40 mouse just sit on my desk. My husband who has bigger hands than me and is a gamer preferred the trackball mouse over the Lift, so maybe if youâre a gamer this mouse is for you. I do plan on buying again in the future, but right now I did not need this mouse. I also preferred the responsive feel of the buttons over the Lift/vertical mouse.

Great mouse (with a minor adjustment)
For background: I’m a software developer at a PC for 8 hours a day. I started having carpal tunnel wrist pains with normal mice, so I churned through a handful of cheap vertical mice over the past 8 years. I honestly didn’t have any issues with vertical mice – my last one was just on the verge of death, so I decided to branch out to the world of trackball mice. After tons of research, I settled on this one. The results?…I love this mouse! I don’t have any frame of reference, but the ball is plenty smooth for me. All the buttons are nicely positioned, and the mouse body fits nicely to my hand, which I’d say is average size. One worry I had before buying was the adjustment period, but for me this was surprisingly short. The first few days were fine – just some issues with accuracy. But I’d say within the first week I was using this mouse as a second nature. I’m even been using this as my preferred mouse for some video games like Baldur’s Gate 3 & Pillars of Eternity (although I personally can’t imagine trying to use it for something like an FPS).Another worry I had before buying was the risk of RSI from the thumb movement, as there’s lots of concerns online about this for thumb-oriented trackball mice. But after using this quite regularly for a few weeks, I’ve had zero thumb pain, outside of some soreness the first couple of days. Of course, I can’t guarantee your experience will be the same, but this is a pretty low bar for entry. Just listen to your body as you go!My biggest complaint: the tilt angle. It’s too flat for me on the table, causing my wrist to rotate too much. I wanted more of that vertical mouse feel. Thankfully, this was easily remedied by 3D printing a tilted base for the mouse from a free model on Thingaverse. The only other inconvenience so far has been that the ball will start to lose its smoothness after a couple days of consistent use, but this is easily remedied in 10 seconds by popping the ball out and cleaning off the contacts. However, these minor issues are far outweighed by the pros & low price. So as far as I’m concerned, 10/10!

Works well for those of us using split ergonomic keyboards!
I used a M570 for years and loved it. It eventually wore down over time and I had to replace it. Probably 6 years ago I decided to go with the MX Master. I stuck with those, and upgraded over the last several years to a Master 2s, and a Master 3. The Master 3 is a great mouse, and has some unique features that make it hard to part with. Namely, the scroll wheel, how it’s notched but can spin freely if you flick it (more on this later). I’ve been getting into more ergonomic keyboards for health reasons, and I’ve settled on a mechanical split ortholinear keyboard that allows for “tenting,” which means you can tilt the two halves up to match your natural wrist position. The problem is, since keeping the two keyboard halves around shoulder width is recommended, normal mice don’t work well in this scenario. You either have to move it to the middle, between the two halves, or leave it on the outside in which case you’re reaching farther to use your mouse. Both are not ideal and it counters the health benefits of using a split ortho keyboard in the first place.Time to go back to the trackball! I had missed my trackball days anyway. First off, why didn’t I go with the MX ERGO? I’m obviously ok dropping $100 on a mouse. Here’s why – 1) I refuse to buy a device that is still using Micro USB. It’s old, outdated, and Logi needs to put USB-C in that one. I feel like they might have an updated version of that in the works, so I wanted to hold off on the MX-series trackball for now. 2) If I’m spending as much as the MX Master 3, it should have 3 BT profiles. Another update in the works for Logi (I would hope…).Before landing on the M575, I tried a Kensington Expert and a Slimblade. The expert is garbage, the Slimblade could be acceptable in certain use cases, but overall Kensington didn’t fit the bill for me. Back to Logi!Enter the M575. Yes, it only has 1 BT profile, but that’s ok for me, and here’s why – I have a personal computer, and a work computer in my home office. They share a USB switch with a button that I push to swap my keyboardmouse between the two. It’s mounted under my desk. The rf transmitter works perfectly here and I don’t even see it. My other “on the go” computer is a Surface, which I use the BT profile for. It works out perfectly, and I make full use of all the connection profiles available which satisfies some strange OCD in me.Last but not least, I’ll mention build quality and how I am managing to cope with losing the famous scroll wheel on the MX Master 3. Build quality is actually really good. I thought it would feel significantly cheaper, but I did not get that impression at all. I think this is about as well built a mouse can get, especially for the price. Next, my beloved scrolling! Set a button (via Logitech Options) to be a “Gesture” button, and set it to “pan.” Problem solved. Now you can hold down the button and flick the trackball to scroll up/down or left/right. I use the middle mouse button for it, and get this… Still works for middle mouse button things, like opening links in a new tab.In conclusion, I am now able to have my trackball very close the the right half of my split keyboard, and stationary so I’m not stretching to use a mouse. It honestly fit in with my workflow from day 1. I may upgrade if Logi comes out with a more modernized MX ERGO someday, but maybe not for a few years. The M575 does what I need, and I’m happy with it. I recommend trying it!

It works perfectly fine. Not very practical for big hands. It works better on the palm with people that have small hands.

I was always reluctant to buy this trackball mouse in the past but I’m so glad I did now. Now I can’t really live without it. It’s comfortable, easy to use, and I don’t get the nagging RSI pain and discomfort I used to get when using my old Logitech MX2 mouse. The only con I have is that I have really large hands because I’m tall. This mouse could be longer and bigger to better fit my hands. The buttons and mouse wheel could be pushed more forward to fit my longer and larger hand. But it doesn’t make it grossly uncomfortable for me to use. I’ve adjusted and prefer it to the conventional mouse. You can’t go wrong using this mouse for most work including CAD work because it does get smoother and better with repeated use. This is what I found after using it for a couple of weeks. It’s now super smooth and very precise. This was also mentioned in the FYI on the Logitech website from their engineers that the trackball will get smoother with continued use in a short period of ‘break-in’ use.The trackball also pops out for easy cleaning to maintain its tracking performance.Overall, I give the trackball a 9/10 because it could be a bit bigger and longer to fit my large hands. If they made a bigger size, I’d buy the bigger size in an instant. Otherwise, I’d recommend it as a definite buy and a great companion to my Logitech G213 Prodigy Gaming Keyboard. Eliminate RSI issues by using this mouse.
