It’s a G-Master Sony lens, so you know it’ll be quality. Slight distortion, but that’ll certainly happen with such a wide lens. Super sharp. Small and lightweight and renders wonderful photos. Highly recommend if you can afford.

Fantastic wide lens for Sony
I had this lens on my must-have list for a few years, and I finally bought it. All I can say is, why did I wait so long? It’s a Sony GM lens, which guarantees outstanding performance, and it truly lives up to that expectation! I use it for shooting real estate interiors, landscapes, and even some astrophotography, and it handles all of these situations perfectly. This lens is worth every penny!

Nothing even compares to this lens
This lens literally rests on my camera as I film weddings all day. The quality of Sony’s G-Master lenses are always remarkable, but this one is my favorite. Its amazing in low light, focuses very quickly on multiple camera systems, and always delivers top notch colors and bokeh. I considered buyign a sigma 14mm and the tamron 17-28mm, but when a friend of mine let me borrow his for a few hours, I fell in love with this lens!

The impossible Milky Way astrophotography lens
For a milky way photography enthusiast, this lens achieves the holy trinity of fast (f1.8), sharp, and light (460 grams or 1 pound). The last quality is important for me since I often go to remote places for my milky way photos (the attached shot was in Great Basin National Park at ~11000 ft. which took 4 miles of hiking to get to). My other wide angle lens is the Sony-Zeiss 16-35 F4, this F1.8 is noticeably lighter than that lens!!There are many online reviews about this lens, and all I can say is: the hype is real. We have not seen anything like it up to this point (Sigma 14mm f1.8 is a traditional DSLR design and is big and bulky). It can also produce pretty good sunstars, which is important for a lens this wide.Two really really minor issues: first, it is so sharp that in certain cases it gives the “overly sharpened in photoshop” look. This is more obvious if there are leaves and grass in the photo. Second, the micro-contrast is not as good as the Zeiss in my opinion.

Very wide-angle lens for Sony full frame
I wanted to get a wider angle lens for my Sony A7 IVMy standard lens goes out to 24 mm and I have an 18 mm but for indoor work I wanted something even wider. The difference between 14 mm and 18 mm is considerable and this is a better lens anyway. For real estate photography or any other interior work. This is really useful. The fast aperture means that the dimly lit interiors are still usable. The lack of distortion is much appreciated. I also use this for landscape panorama work.

Excellent lens, if you looking for wide and fast
I’ve only had this lens a couple of days but I already love it. I handles beautifully. It’s crazy light for a 14mm. I tried out the 12-24 GM and just couldn’t get excited about such a big heavy lens with a relatively limited zoom range, esp since I already own and love the 16-35 GM. This is a perfect compliment to the 16-35, for the wider perspective and the faster 1.8 aperture for astro shots. Excellent lens.

I shoot night images, and the stars are perfect with this lens. It’s just sweet. So much better than the Rokinon and Samyang. Light weight. Trustworthy. Makes taking pictures FUN. I love the perspective and the beauty.

This lens is amazing. But of course, it’s a G Master lens. It’s minimum focus distance is quite close. I felt like I was too close to my subject, but it still focused. And at f/1.8 the bokeh from everything else in the distance is creamy smooth.This will be my wide field Astro lens for Milky Way shots and such. It’ll make a great low light landscape lens. Highly recommend for any landscape photographer in low light scenarios, but also good for being able to focus really close and get that smooth background separation. (I know, not something you typically think of with a 14mm lens, but it does work.)

For an open wide F1.8 14mm you’re not gonna find a better lens for Sony E mount. Worth every dollar. Buy it nice so you don’t buy it twice.
