I had a pc with 6 monitors I bought this adapter to run a 7th monitor and it wouldn’t work I bought another graphics card and it was able to support this adapter with a monitor and 2 other monitors connected to the graphics hdmi ports.I’ve had this adapter for a while and it doesn’t lag or black out as some of the reviews say and I use my pc for gaming and work it’s on almost 16 hrs a day with no problems.Only problems are that the cable it to small I wish it was longer & having to download the file in order to work is a little sketchy. But it’s been working completely fine.

I had bought another USB to HDMI product before this and it came with a physical CD driver and was not at all what was advertised, this product works in less than a minute and required little effort on my part and the driver simply comes with the USB to HDMI extension. Plus it comes with extra USB ports not just the HDMI which is a bonus for me because I have used a lot of my USB ports. If you are looking for an extension for a second or third monitor and don’t have the extra HDMI port, like i did, I highly recommend this as a solution.

Weird that you have to manually install the driver, but it works.Nice to have another HDMI port on my laptop.EDIT: (22dec2023)It’s been months an for some reason I just now noticed that,it seems to be unable to transfer sound?Whatever monitor that is plugged into this wont be able to make sound, even if it has speakers.Note to those complaining about it disconnecting all the time:You more than likely need an adapter. Look at the color of your USB plugs.If they are not blue, then you likely have old plugs and they are not compatible.An adapter that has a black plug will work with old plugs.Most adapters will have a black plug with blue plugs in the HUB.Anyway, this is only for the USB plugs, not the HDMI.I’m getting the same issue with the screen disconnecting.It seems like this adapter needs a lot of power to run, and whenever your computer does an operation that uses RAM or something, that will trigger the screen to blackout.For me this literally happens any time I have to save something. Be it, dragging an image into a folder, moving files, or saving a project I’m working on.The blackouts aren’t bothering me too much, since this is meant to be a 4th screen for me,but I’ve seen others trying to use this as their main screen, and can definitely see how this would be extremely frustrating.Definitely docking a couple stars in this update.EDIT: THAT NIGHTDocking the rest of the stars. Holy moly.It went from blacking out, to just fully disconnecting the HDMI cord. REPEATEDLY.Meaning, it flashes every single screen while my computer readjusts the orientation and resolutions of each screen, because this thing won’t stop this mess.It worked “okay” at best for a couple months and that was it.EDIT: Mere hours laterYeah no, this is happening literally minutes apart now.It’s no longer just blacking out, it’s full on disconnecting every few minutes.This is unacceptible.

Works great for Windows and Mac M1
I was trying to extend my desktop for my MacBook Pro, like I do for my Windows computer. Sadly, I didn’t know that my older MacBook does not support dual [triple] screen extending and this will only allow it to duplicate – not the fault of this docking station – rather a limitation on Apple’s part. It worked great on my Windows PC, but I already had one so I ended up returning this one – ONLY because my MacBook has the Intel graphics processor and does not support the thunderbolt video – need to use Mini Display Port for this mac, and you can only duplicate – not extend the display. Again, no fault of this nice docking station – a limitation on the Apple hardware side.

Bandwidth issues
Item worked fine for just HDMI or just a USB keyboard, but when both were plugged in the keyboard became unresponsive. Product also requires you install its own software (drivers, presumably) with an included exe file, and running random executables always makes me a little uncomfortable.

The box it came in was of poor quality and gave almost no information about the product. I notice it is quite finicky and will disconnect often, but not enough to discontinue using it. I found for my laptop the hdmi port (one of the reasons I purchased it over other products) did not work for my monitor or laptop. As it does allow me to plug in additional devices that is helpful, but for the price it cost I would have expected better quality.
