I just welcomed myself to the Alexa Universe!
So I am a beginner in the Alexa world and this one is my very first Echo device ever. Bought it absolutely occasionally while browsing the Amazon. I was actually looking for some kind of gift ideas for my almost 9 years old daughter (she was always so excited to visit our friends and neighbors and talk to Alexa lol). And the $19 offer popped up on my screen for this little device (refurbished). I decided to give it a try. In the next day or two a $14 offer for a brand new one popped up and of course I bought it right away. My daughterâs birthday is in few days but I couldnât wait myself to try it so I decided to give this present to her yesterday saying she will have tons of gifts on her actual birthday date anyway. You shouldâve seen her happy face! Itâs just unbelievable! Did not have much time to set it up yesterday, was afraid if something goes wrong I could become confused and just forget this idea of having Alexa at home which will make my daughter to feel upset. So started today. Now I see I shouldâve started it yesterday. Gosh, whole initial setup took less than 5 minutes including unpacking and pairing with the app. Alexa momentarily was ready to listen. As you can see on my video I just asked some simple questions to perform the test. And despite my accent (english is not my native language) Iâve got very clear answers. Amazing! Of course and as always while buying something Iâve got through some negative reviews. A number of people say the sound quality is below their expectations. Really? Do you really expect a 12 inches Bose quality sound for $14? In my honest opinion for such a compact speaker the sound quality is a way above the average. It doesnât just sound great for such a compact size but it also very loud and clear. I measured the device – itâs only 4 inches in diameter and Iâm pretty sure the actual speaker itself is even smaller (but canât confirm because itâs not visible from outside). Some people say they canât get it to work at all, numerous say itâs doesnât do anything right unless you buy something, some find another negative reasons. I do not know and have no clue what they are talking about. It works seamlessly! For now, as a beginner, I love all the features it offers, for example I donât have to look for a button to turn the alarm off, I just touched it somewhere and alarm stopped (couple of minutes later I realized it was a snooze mode so I actually asked Alexa to stop the alarm (just the alarm clock itself could cost me more than this speaker by the way)). Really love a whisper feature. If you whisper Alexa will whisper back – wow! Isnât it great if everyone else is sleeping in your house, for example?! Real time news, weather, music, reminders, alarms and many many more to discover. I feel like we have a new family member and some genius companion at home lol. Iâm truly admired and amazed by all this new technologies. Special thanks to designers for a different color choice. I would choose black or white, my wife – purple, but my daughters favorite color is green so she got a right one. Now I am finishing to write this long review and start integrating all my smart cameras and devices with our new companion – was always wondering all those devices saying âCompatible with Alexaâ on a box. So itâs time to try! Of course if something goes wrong I will update my review here and maybe join the group of negative reviewers but something tells me itâs not going to happen. Usually my first impression stays with me forever. But we will see. For now this little companion honestly deserves its 5 stars. Hope someone will find my review helpful.

Echo Pop by Amazon Alexa is an easy and pretty way to bring a digital assistant to your home. The sound is powerful for such a small unit that conveniently fits in many places. I feel more informed and safer with Alexa.

smallest Alexa speaker — including a mic off button — control compatible smart home devices
This review is for the: Amazon Echo Pop (newest model), Our smallest Alexa speaker, Fits in any room, CharcoalEcho Pop â This compact smart speaker with Alexa features full sound that’s great for bedrooms and small spaces.Control music with your voice â Ask Alexa to play music, audiobooks, and podcasts from your favorite providers like Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora, Sirius XM and more. Built with multiple layers of privacy controls, including a mic off button.I have an Alexa DOT and use it in my bedroom. Mostly use it with voice command to turn light on/off and turn on my TLC Roko 65″ TV to play YouTube 432hz healing videos on low volume while I sleep.I’m have a nest smart thermostat for my six-zone home heat system and have started to change over to smart lights. Have some smart light switches and outlets ordered (I do all my own electrical wiring as I have extensive experience in construction and house building.) Also ordered smart recessed ceiling lights for my 22’x30′ living room and kitchen that I will be wiring and installing myself. So, I ordered and received the Alexa POP for my living room. So far it works quite well with voice command. Today I told it to play music, and it proceeded to play Bach or Beethoven, so I said to play some classic rock and it switched to some Amazon classic rock channel and started playing Aerosmith. Not too bad. Earlier today did the same and it started playing ‘Cities On Flame’ by Blue Oyster Cult. Pretty cool! The Amazon Echo Pop seems to be a quality device and well make. It weights 194 grans or 6.8 ounces. As I show in the attached video, the voice commands are easy to use and work exactly as expected. I have the lights set up in my living room and also have a TLC with Roku in the same group. So, Alexa sometimes gets confused about which device I’m commanding. I have to clarify, and then it works. I’m somewhat new to this Alexa network in my home and I think that in time Alexa will learn more of my voice commands and become more efficient. But for now, these work well and I’m happy with the results so far.I definitely recommend the Amazon Echo Pop from Amazon…..
