I finally found the perfect mascara to replace a Maybelline brand they stopped making years ago. I’ve tried so many. My lashes are long and this mascara both volumizes and emphasizes the length beautifully with one coat. I’m so accustomed to having to apply 2 coats, that I did apply 2. However, I could easily get by with only one. The wand is great, reaching every lash without smears on the eye lids. I wore two coats for about 12 hours. Fall out from the tubes didn’t occur until I cuddled up with my infant grandson for a nap. The flakes were easy to lightly swipe off. My daughter has professional lash extensions, but my lashes actually looked longer than hers with this mascara. I can highly recommend whether your natural lashes are long and lush, or short and sparse. Your lashes will look much longer and fuller.

I’ve been seeing this mascara go viral everywhere, so I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad that I did! Now I’m not over exaggerating when I say this.. but this might be the best mascara I’ve ever tried. The quality itself is so good, and the volume that it provides for my lashes is just crazy! I’ve gotten so many compliments plus it looks natural. If you’re planning to buy this then take it from me, please do it!

This has been my go to choice for mascara for the past few years. I used to use better than sex mascara and switch to this because the output color and quality is the same but it’s half of the price. If you’re looking for volume and length that does not transfer or smear this is your option. I have never purchased the waterproof one and honestly, I’ve never needed to. This one stays just fine and wash soft cleanly. Highly recommend.

I thought I finally found my favorite mascara with Tarte, and though I used it for years, I bought the Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara on a whim. I’m in love with this mascara. I have been using lash sensational sky high mascara for a couple years now. I buy “blackest black” as well as “cosmic black” and both are fantastic. It adds volume and lift to my lashes and amazing length. I like to apply a few coats and it does not clump or cause my lashes to stick together! The brush glides with ease every time. It wears so well all day and night without irritating my eyes, and washes off with ease! I highly recommend this mascara, you will not be disappointed.
That’s how I arrived here. I watched a strawberry blonde Tiktoker discussing her makeup routine, and she uses this in brown. She said it was a true brown, instead of a black-brown like most mascara companies make – which is kind of insulting to us, the customers who want/need a brown, but the companies think we’re unsure of this and the difference between black and black-brown is not even noticeable when you have it on. 🙄 I don’t know if I would consider this a “true brown”, it’s definitely not black, but it lacks the warmth and brightness of a true brown – like the brown of Cabaret’s mascara (which is beautiful, but doesn’t go on well and clumps terribly). The Sky High has a similar applicator, but the formula is much better – more smooth and creamy and not clumpy at all. It’s also a tubing mascara, which, if you haven’t tried a tubing, you don’t know what you’re missing! It stays put, but comes off with just warm water and a gentle tug. That is the biggest reason I’m giving it four stars: it DOES lengthen a LOT, without clumping or adding too much volume (I’m not a fan of the voluminous mascaras, myself; I prefer one that improves color and definition).
If you like black, or black-brown mascaras that will give you length, without adding volume, and prefer a rubbery, spiny applicator over a thinner brush or spoolie type applicator, this one is for you. I just place more priority on color because I have none on my natural lashes and black can look too harsh on my fair skin and with my light-colored hair.
So, off I go! On my quest for the “perfect” mascara…

I have a complicated relationship with mascara. I don’t exactly love it, but I kinda need it because my lashes are so light blonde that when I don’t wear any, I look like I don’t even have lashes. One complicated aspect of our relationship is either they change, or I do. I LOVED Tightline by It Cosmetics – even wore at my wedding – but they changed the formula and the product was drying up in less than two weeks. I wore the super cheap Essence waterproof mascara for a couple of years, then it started irritating my eyes; they could have changed something, or maybe I developed an allergy; I’m not sure. I even thought I had found a holy grail in Lancome’s Définicils, but then *I* changed my esthetic and decided I wanted to wear brown to meld better with my strawberry blonde hair.
