A great idea, easy to use, that has simplified my life.
My back was aching from crouching to clean the clumps out of the old-style litter box, so I decided to try out this sieve system. As my four kitties are very particular, and have been using a flip-top box for years, I was concerned that they wouldn’t use the new one. No worry, the kitties love the system, and so do I. It is simple to use, efficient, and speeds up the cleaning process. placing the sieve between the two trays makes it easy just to pick up the top tray, dump the contents into the sieve and drain the clean litter into the bottom tray, leaving clumps in the sieve to be disposed of. The cleaned litter tray then becomes the top tray. The whole process takes minutes, without the usual spills. This has simplified my life.

    Cheap and it Works!
PROs1. I purchased horse pine bed pellets from a Tractor Supply Store ( their own farm store brand) for $6 for a huge bag. I drove 40 minutes to get to that store and purchased 2 bags which will take forever for my cats to go though. Pellets much cheaper than scoopable litter.2. Pellets do turn to sawdust when wet. It can stink if too much wet litter is on the bottom of the brown lower pan and cannot dry out easily. That is why I elevated the white hole pan above it with 5 Chef Boyardee (microwavable) containers (glued to bottom of white pan) so the brown pan can hold more sawdust between emptying and to get more air circulating between brown pan bottom and white hole pan to help dry wet pellets/saw dust out. No more smell.3. I purchased TWO of these litter boxes. I put TWO brown pans inside each other and then put one white hole pan on top of the brown pans and set the rest of the 2nd litter pan in the garage. That way, I can shake the white hole pan into the brown pan and remove the brown pan with litter and set the white hole pan on the 2nd clean brown pan. I then take the 1st brown pan with sawdust in it to the compost pile and dump it. If it needs it I will hose it down in the backyard and let it dry and then place it under the brown pan. Rotating brown pans makes everything easier.4. The white hole pan is dishwasher safe if used on top shelf of dishwasher. Someone put a large sticker on the bottom of the white hole pan covering the holes. It was taking me forever to scrap all the sticker off each and every little hole. I got frustrated and put the white hole pan in my dishwasher top shelf on 1 hour clean and viola – the sticker came off.5. Sawdust is so MUCH LIGHTER than wet half clumped scoopable litter. When I carry the brown bottom pan filled with sawdust to the compost bin outside it is very very light.CONs1) The white “HOLE” pan is too low to the bottom of the brown pan. I read where someone glued pipe ends to bottom of white hole pan but being cheap, I glued 5 empty Chef Boyardee microwave containers (face down) to the bottom of the white hole pan. 4 in each corner and one in the middle as I have a fat cat. These empty Chef Boyardee containers are high enough to allow litter to fall threw the holes and fill the brown pan below. I can also pick up the white hole pan and shake it and the sawdust sifts though the holes into the area beneath.2) It was bit of trouble to get my old cat to use it. I had to put TWO litter pans next to each other. One with scoopable litter and one with pellets. I then put a few bits of her poo in the pellet litter along with a bit of scooapble litter wet with her urine. Then I STOPPED cleaning the scooble litter pan – GROSS. She kept stubbornly using it until the entire top was hard/crusted over. Then she did her business in one of the bedrooms so I closed ALL DOORS. FINALLY she used the pellet litter box and she has been using it every since. My cat is a digger and she gets pellets on the floor but they are easier to sweep up than litter and not tracked as easily either.I am going to cut a hole in the side of a large plastic tub and put my Arm/Hammer sift litter tray inside it to help contain the pellets as my cat really goes to town. To be fair I was going to do this if i had kept using scoopable litter also because my cat is messy. I have tried the crystal litter boxes, the litter box where urine runs through the litter and pools in bottom and you empty it (THE ABSOLUTE WORST MOST DISGUSTING litter box ever) and several other weird models that uses alternatives to scooble litter. I went though a dozen scooble litter types from SamsClub to everything on Amazon but nothing truly clumps. I tried several alternatives to scoopable litters like litter made from grain, newspapers, etc….all over hyped. Tidy Cat changed its formula awhile back and now urine does not clump but falls apart stinking up the litter box or I would never have been on the search for a different litter box. I have to thank Tidy Cat for me finding this litter sifting box and using horse bed pine pellets.

Best litter box I’ve ever used out of many tried!
UPDATE: I still think this is a good system; however, I bought this six months ago when my kitties were KITTENS and much smaller, but full grown there are some issues. I have boy and girl twinnies… my baby girl is still very petite and slim, so she fits in the box fine; but, her brother has grown much bigger, so Charley doesn’t fit in their anymore. A few months ago he was kicking half the litter out of the box while covering his poop, it made a SUCH a mess. He no longer does that because he can’t fit in the box and shovel the litter anymore, so he does the motion outside the box. He’s not kicking litter everywhere BUT he’s also not covering his poop’s; which are very smelly. This is my second boy kitty, and I’ve also had four girls, and the boy’s feces SMELLS AWFUL! Maybe it’s a coincidence, but if I’m not home when he poops the house smells horrible. Even if I’m here I have to cover it and then scoop it out, and it still takes a while for the smell to go away in the area near the box. I have chronic migraines so I can’t spray air freshener, so my only option is to open all the windows. I live in the northeast so sometimes this isn’t an option! If your cats are petite like my Edie, then this is a great system but if you have a big, burly baby like Charley then you need something bigger. I’m ordering a extra large box but I’ll still use the sifting tray. I actually pre-scoop the larger waste because trying to pour it into a bag from the sift tray never ends well; but, the sift tray is great for trapping the smaller waste you may miss while scooping. This keeps the litter cleaner, so I don’t have to empty out all the litter and refill it as often. Cat litter, (like everything else!), has become very expensive so the sifting tray saves some money. Good luck! The only thing that could make cleaning the cat litter box not a chore is hiring someone else to do it for you; if like me you can’t afford a maid then I recommend this litter box. It is the best I’ve used in almost 30 years of having kitty companions. I agree it’s a bit shallow but if you keep the amount of litter low and clean it daily then it’s not too bad. The length and width seem comparable to other boxes I’ve had. I have two kittens four months old and sometimes they use it together so I think an adult cat up to 12 pounds should fit okay.I use it differently then some other reviewers. It has TWO boxes and ONE sifter, so every morning I use a scooper to scrape the bottom of the dirty box, no matter what new fangled litter they come up with some clumps always stick! I place the sifting tray in the clean box then poor the dirty litter box on top, slowly so the clumps don’t break up. I pick up the sifting tray give it a little shake then place it into the dirty box. I add a bit of baking soda and add a SMALL amount of fresh litter. I rinse out the dirty box and sifter wipe them down with a bleach spray cleaner. Easy, peasy! Every two weeks I dump all the litter and start fresh. I think the sifter in the box while they use it would make it uncomfortable for the kitty to stand on, especially if they like to dig; all my cats have been and are diggers! It also makes it less shallow. I’ve used just about every litter box contraption invented in the last 30 years. I spent $200 on one of those electric gizmos and it’s was junk. I found that a lot if the dirty litter broke up and got left behind and it turned on while my kitty was in there and that was it for me. I didn’t even donate it to The Salvation Army because it S****D and traumatized my already timid kitty.Whatever litter box you choose the most important thing is to CLEAN IT ONCE A DAY! Cats are very clean animals; would you want to have to relieve yourself in a dirty box? It can also lead to your cat peeing outside the box because they don’t want to go in the dirty box. Your house will smell much better too! Best of luck…. Cheers!

    So grateful! Life is easier!
This sifting litter box, is so awesome! I have 2 indoor cats, that use the restroom all the time. I have had a regular litter box for years. All I have ever used. I hated having to change it constantly! To be honest it would stress me out. So, I saw this sifting litter box, read the reviews, & decided to order 2. If they did not simplify my life, I was going to buy an electric litter box. To make a long story short, I love them! So easy to clean, and dispose waste. I am saving on litter, & noticed having to scoop. The litter box size is perfect! I still have my old litter box down, because I had just changed the litter in it. Since I got the new boxes, they are barely using the old one. I want to have 3 though, because my oldest cat gets bladder infections. Therefore, since I am so happy with the sifting litter box, I ordered my 3rd one today! Now I can take that nasty old one out! Yay!! Great buy, at a great price!

I speak on behalf of my 14 year old kitty Waffles who adores this roomy good for scratching collector of his stunning leavings! His fussiness has cost this owner many beans trying to impress his litter-acy! This simple, coverless and large enough for Waffles businesses finally has the furry grinch admitting it is purrfection and meets his requirements! Thank you for this simple litter box that has Waffles tail sailing higher to announce a satisfied backside.

It is a basic litter box, a bit wobbly but does the job. It is easy to clean and big enough for a normal sized cat. May be a bit too tight for bigger cats.

I use wood pellets as my kitty litter. As they get wet they dissolve into sawdust which can be composted, making them a very sustainable litter that smells decent and doesn’t leave dust everywhere like regular litter. The only issue when I started using it was that the cats would sometimes trail sawdust around the house. That stopped when I started using this litter box. The solids can easily be scooped out and either flushed or tossed on the trash. A good shake lets the sawdust settle underneath the top sieve-like layer to the solid tray beneath it. The gap between these layers is decent enough that even when I don’t have a chance to shake it down for a whole day quite a bit of sawdust still falls through. This means that my cats don’t track sawdust through the house, a good shake lets me easily take the peed-on sawdust to my compost, and I can easily clean the litter in just 2 minutes max. The cats love it and so do I!

La limpieza se convierte en mas sencillo, el material es resistente y tiene una altura suficiente para que no se disperse la arena. Lo recomiendo
