5-stars! Absolutely WOULD buy again!
When my wife saw this litter box in our Amazon cart she thought I must have added it because a few weeks prior I’d mentioned that we needed a new litter box. It’s a sad fact of having a cat (or 3, as we do) that you’re not just going to spend a lot of time cleaning litter boxes, but as the smell WILL eventually permeate the litter box itself you’re eventually going to need to replace the litter box, too. I never saw this litter box before, and the wife never added it to her cart, but it somehow got in there, and I’ve got to say I’m glad it did, because it works just great.I’m a little (read: A LOT!) skeptical about “self-cleaning” litter boxes, especially those automatic, powered ones, so when I saw that the manufacturers referred to this box as a self-cleaning litter box I was naturally skeptical. But it works great! Seriously! I don’t know how the box got into my wife’s Amazon cart but I’m glad it did because it really is great. Now it is NOT self-cleaning, you do still have to clean it, but the way you clean it is remarkably easy compared to the traditional sift, scoop & dump. When it’s time to clean you just roll the box almost completely upside down (I’d say about 3/4 over), give the floor a knock or two to shake free any stubborn clumps, roll the box back up-right, remove the “clump drawer”, empty the clumps, then reinsert the “clump drawer”. Because of the very clever interior design, if you’ve correctly assembled the box all of the mostly-clean litter stays inside the box and only the clumps end up in the clump drawer. If you’re a little anal/thorough like me, or have 3 cats (like me), you can always roll it back over a second time, or more, for a thorough cleaning. For refills I just tip the newly cleaned box up onto its back and poured litter directly into the opening. We also have one of those mats meant to trap the litter and stop the kitties from scattering their litter through the house. With our old litter box, even with the mat the kitties still got litter into the laundry and out into the kitchen. With the new litter box, some litter still makes it out onto the mat, but I’ve notice a lot less litter in the rest of the house. I don’t know if it’s the extra step on the box itself, or something else about the design, but it definitely seems like more litter is staying where it should be, and not getting to where it shouldn’t. In addition to stopping the spread of litter, this box also seems to do a much better job trapping the ubiquitous odors that one associates with kitty litter boxes.Other reviewers have stated this box is larger than they expected. I don’t know what they were using before but it’s no bigger than our previous, lidded box. In fact it’s actually a little smaller than the last lidded box we used. I’m not saying it’s a small litter box. As far as lidded boxes go I’d say it’s mid-sized. If you’ve never used a lidded box you may think it’s big, but it’s not big for a lidded box.

Ok, not great but not horrendous
It works mostly. Just like EVERYONE is saying, the plastic is super flimsy. So are the clips. It hasn’t broken yet, but I imagine it’s going to break before I change the box (I buy a new box every few years). As far as ease of use, you literally just roll it and it deposit the prezzies in the little scooper. I’ve noticed that the clumps are too big for the scoop sometimes, which makes a mess pulling it out because it scrapes on the opening. Gross lol. The area available for your cats to use isn’t exactly massive either. Half of the box is the sifting system, so even though I bought the bigger size deliberately because I’ve got a fatty kitty she’s definitely a lil smooshed in there. One cat is about 10lbs and slim, my fatty is 13 but she’s a Siamese and is only supposed to be like 8lbs so she’s quite. . . Round lol. Both use the box though. My fluffy cat also has this awesome habit of using the same exact spot in the litter box to urinate, which super saturates the litter in that spot and the clump winds up super glued to the back corner up against the grate. Soooo I have to go in and break it up with a scooper but what that means is the grate gets dirty too and it’s a b and a half to try to clean it. However. I’m lazy. So lazy. I cannot even articulate exactly how lazy because that’s too much work. I love that I literally just give it a roll, slap the bottom a few times, and yank out the scoop and litter box is (mostly) clean. It’s soooo much easier than scooping daily, and it’s a massive time saver too. I used to have a litter robot and obviously that’s better, but I left it behind when i moved because I didn’t have room for a spaceship of a litter box. Plus my chunky cat loves scraping her paws after she’s done (quite the dainty lady isn’t she?) and she ripped the lining up. Plastic boxes mean she can scrape to her fuzzy hearts content without destroying $600 worth of tech. Both of my cats like using the paw scraper actually, so I’m glad I got this version. Litter is everywhere still, haven’t found a box that keeps the litter spray from happening but it’s not really a Major concern for me. As far as smell, no door means no trapping the yuck. I prefer boxes with doors but this doesn’t have one so no door for me I guess. When I notice it’s stinking it’s super simple to give it a roll and “scoop” twice a day or however many times I need to. my cats also have recently picked up the habit of not burying their presents (well actually the stray I rescued doesn’t and he taught my chungus she didn’t have to either. So thanks for that I guess lol) and rolling it also helps cover them in litter which helps them clump up and helps with the smell which is nice. Sometimes on super lazy days I’ll give it a roll and just leave it up top because the scoop isn’t full and rolling it coated the yucks so they don’t stink anymore.Overall I’m… Pleased. I’ll probably get another when it breaks, But for sure I will get the one that has the easy litter adding chute because I used to just use a little cup to scoop litter into the box to add it, so I figured why pay extra for something I don’t need but the hole on this box is so small that it’s a massive pain in the butt to do that. I take the entire top off to add litter.Basically it’s got a LOT of real negatives but the positives outweigh them at this juncture. We’ll see how I feel when it breaks because for SURE it’s going to at some point.

Great for a poo only box!
My cat only uses his litter box for having poos while he pees in the toilet, so this box is perfect for me.It’s decently sized, my 12-15 lb hulk cat can get in and rotate to his desired spot with ease. He is one that prefers his head out of the opening, so I was grateful there was no flap to remove. The litter catch it comes with is okay, but you’ll need a mat under it just the same as any cat box to catch other litter.Make sure and sweep up before you tip/clean the box, as litter pieces can get stuck to the outside top while rolling.I don’t really have to do the tap on the bottom since there’s no urine in there, but I’ve tapped for fun a few times and the build seems sturdy enough to withstand a hard whack. The scoop fits nicely in the opening and I never struggle to get it out or back in, but it certainly isn’t “sealed”, so leaving any waste in the scoop container wouldn’t be advisable. This was pretty easy to assemble for me, I have a minor disability involving my back (which is why traditional scooping cleaning of cat boxes wasn’t working for me), and none of the parts were overly heavy or awkward. I did not require assistance with assembly or securing the clamps.I have rolled this box every other day for about two months now (took a while for my cat to switch to it), and it hasn’t fallen apart, “leaked”, cracked, or sustained any damage while in use or cleaning. If I have need for another cat box, this will be the first one for me to get, and I will definitely be ordering it again once this one wears out.
