Great product just be sure you’re going to use it.
If you already own a KitchenAid stand mixer this is an excellent alternative to your standard ice cream maker. The only problem is as much as you think you might be making ice cream you most likely will not. But it’s still fun to pull it out on occasion and put together some different flavor combinations that you would most likely not find somewhere else. It’s built well, affordable, and relatively easy to use.

    Very happy with this purchase
I was tired of getting ice cream with so much sugar and added stuff in it, not to mention how high $$ it is getting. Made 4 quarts so far and it’s perfect, and the price is a little price, makes ice cream in about 10-15 min vs the Kitchen-aids 20- 30 min recommendation. When the plastic starts to skip turn it off before it breaks (this means it is done). We like the consistency, but it makes more than you should eat in one sitting (if only 2 or less people – perfect amount for 4 people). You can put the mixture in the freezer, but it becomes too frozen! I was initially worried about the bowl taking up too much freezer space, but it’s surprisingly compact. It doesn’t take up much room. I didn’t like the fact that there is only 1 recipe in the booklet that comes with it. It says to go to the web site for more, but the web site does not tell you how much of each ingredient to use. I have been doing trial and error, so far about 4 cups of liquid seems to work without it overflowing. All in all, we love it and glad we purchased.

    Instructions could be better.
I had two issues with the product, both minor. First, the connector attachment doesn’t fit flush to the mixer, which makes it a bit awkward to setup – not difficult, just awkward. The instructions do not tell you that once you start churning the ice cream, you cannot stop until it is completed period. If you stop he mixer for any reason, do NOT restart it. If you do, the plastic connector will snap as the dasher will have frozen in the bowl. This happened to me when our power went out for about 30 seconds then came back on. I wasn’t close enough to get to the mixer to stop it when the power came back on and I heard a loud snap and the connect plastic had broken. It would have been nice if there was a warning in the instructions about power outages. Overall though, the ice cream maker works well. I made a no-added sugar chocolate ice cream with sugar free chocolate chips mixed in as well as a pink champagne sorbet. Both were quick and easy. Clean-up is simple. The bowl does take up a large amount of my freezer space prior to making the ice cream. My freezer is set a -1 F, so it only takes about 15 minutes to churn the ice cream.

Great product. It takes a lot of freezer real estate
I love having the ability to make soft serve ice cream at home. If you put chilled ice cream mix in this you’ll have a delicious bowl of ice cream in about 30min.It is a hefty bowl due to it having insulated walls , so it takes a lot of freezer real estate. I store mine in the freezer so there’s always a spot cleared for it, but if you’re a planner you’ll just need to put it in the freezer the day before you want ice cream. In my experience I have given it a minimum of 16hrs to freeze and that worked well. The only downside to this bowl is it’s size. Whether it’s in a cupboard or in the freezer it takes a lot of space. But for me it’s worth the purchase to be able to make my own ice cream.

So fun and easy to use!
I have made 6 quarts of ice cream so far, the KitchenAid ice cream maker attachment works great. The bowl is heavy which helps with the ability to mix the ice cream. It is not very loud, I like the white color of the bowl. It is a great gift idea for anyone with a KitchenAid mixer.

Es un producto genial, solamente que en algunos congeladores va necesitar estar más tiempo en congelación para que pueda funcionar de manera adecuada, el tiempo de elaboración de la nieve ronda en los 20 minutos.

IS THERE ANYTHING my BIG RED can’t do? ….. Well making fresh ice cream isn’t one of them. BEST buy ever!, did my research, did the reading reviews and recipes and this is what I have found…. IF you do just what one person who previously reviewed this attachment suggests as soon as this arrives, take the bowl out of the box, wash in warm water, DRY completely and get that bowl i to your freezer! Ours arrived yesterday morning and we did just that, taking it out this morning to make our first batch of the most AMAZING DELICIOUS fresh ice cream! As others have said, the instructions as to how to attach the mechanism to my mixer, but Youtube videos made that clear. The paddle, or as ice cream makers refer to it, the “dasher” sits in the bottom of the bowl so you need not worry about how is it gonna work… it just does! I used a recipe I found on line, a simple 2 2 2 1 Two cups whipping cream, two cups half and half, two teaspoons of pure vanilla extract and one cup of sugar. As per the recipe, I predissolved my sugar in the half and half, then added the whipping cream and vanilla. I have a very “vintage” pyrex mixing bowl with a pourer spout which is perfect to pour into the frozen bowl. Once you have the attachment and bowl in place START your mixer on speed ONE (1) no higher, and SLOWLY pour in your liquid, set the timer because in precisely 20 minutes your ice cream is DONE! I could not believe it… So simple, and so delicious. This is THE BEST attachment I have EVER purchased for my Kitchenaid stand mixer! Great value!
