Great for cat food. Keeps ants out
Seals tightly! I like that it is a more vertical shape and fits easily in the tiny pantry closet we have. Fits a whole 12 lb bag of cat food too. I live in the SW and we have those tiny sugar ants in the summer. They are in every house no matter what. They have not been able to get into this! And it’s so affordable. Great product. Would strongly recommend.

Holds our food perfectly!!
I have an awful sense of scale and depth perception, and even when given product measurements, it can be really difficult for me to understand the size of something before it arrives. That alone made me a little nervous to get this product, and I spent more time scouring reviews to see how other people’s food fit befor deciding to give it a shot. Opening it, it still looked smaller than I imagined, and I was briefly worried there was no way my dog food would fit, but it did! This little thing holds a 10lb bag of Royal Canin food perfectly. Granted, I buy Chihuahua specific food, so the kibbles are fairly small. I’m not sure if kibble scale effects the fit if the weight is the same, but the little bites fit perfectly with room to spare on top for our scoop. The black color looks great in the room, and the lid has a nice lock on it. It feels pretty sturdy overall, and I’m glad to have it since the large bag of food didn’t reseal the way I would have preferred compared to smaller bags. Recommend!

My favorite pet food storage containers!
I have always used IRIS brand storage containers and have been very pleased with them in the past. I think the oldest one still around is from at least 12 years ago and still going strong! So when my new cat was wily enough to figure out how to open his old food container (I was using a Buddeez 6 quart dispenser for his food since it fit the entire 7 lb bag inside), I went straight to Amazon to find my trusty IRIS brand containers like I use for our dogs! And, as usual, they do not disappoint!AIRTIGHT LATCHI know some have complained about the seal of the lids on these containers. I have some of the containers labeled premium and some of the regular ones and there is a difference in the thickness of the plastic on the lid and the tightness of the latch. I do not have any problems with ants so I can’t speak to that issue which is one I’ve seen mentioned in reviews, but I found the premium ones have very sturdy and tight lids and the crafty feline is unable to open them so I no longer go out to feed him in the morning or evening and find his food container lid already wide open!CAPACITYAfter debating between the less expensive 28 quart and the more expensive and smaller 15 quart, I decided it just didn’t make sense space-wise to get the larger container since the largest bag of his food is only about 15 lbs and it would be wasted space! So I elected to go with the smaller container then started researching the colors and options for the best price. And even though the capacity listed is 12 pounds, since this is cat food and in small pieces, I can fit an entire 15 lb bag in there which saves on the food bill.AMAZON WAREHOUSE DEALSSo I’m going to take a moment to tout the Amazon Warehouse Deals if you happen to catch one! I have used this method in the past and I am again very pleased with my choice! I noticed there were some like new used containers in the smaller 15 quart size that I wanted so I was able to get what I needed but for half the price of the new one! Because it was Amazon, I felt confident I would be able to return it if there were any problems so I thought – why not? They are a very reliable source if you happen to come across an item available from them – especially if it says like new. They really do inspect them and I have never received a broken item or one not as described. My container even came with a sticker indicating it was inspected by Amazon Warehouse Deals.Overall, this was a great deal and the cat food is now safely sealed away until divided out for his meals. Very pleased with my purchase and a big thank you to Amazon Warehouse Deals!

LOOKS BIG BUT IS SMALLER
I like the container however, it really doesn’t hold 13 pounds. I put about 8 lbs of peanuts. I was really hoping it would hold more.

Great for pet food can hold a 12 pound bag. Comes with a scooper for easy to get to the bowl. Can also be used for any item in the kitchen sugar, flour, etc. Thick plastic sealed tight lid nothing else can get in.

Hole in bottom
As I started to wash out the container after I received it, I discovered a hole in the bottom. It looks like the plastic was not poured correctly during manufacturing and it did not quite pull together correctly at the little dimple at the bottom, so there is a 3 mm hole. I was going to put pet food in it, but since it is not air tight now and my house is prone to ants, I can’t use this container. I requested a return but Amazon said I could not return it without the box. I had already thrown the box out since Amazon has never required a box for any other item I have returned to the UPS store. Also Amazon usually doesn’t want damaged unsellable merchandise back so it didn’t occur to me to save the box. I am now out the money I spent on this and can’t use it. I would have to go out and buy a box and spent more time and effort to return this and it’s just not worth it. Extremely disappointed. Amazon’s quality of products has declined so much in the past year. So much cheap junk.

I buy 8lb bags of Guinea Pig pellets and this container easily fits that and could fit another 4lbs I would say nicely. It is a great quality, air tight and easy to open and close.

Bien, lo uso para el alimento de mis mascotas, cierra bien y el alimento se mantiene fresco y seco. Anteriormente había pedido uno (negro) y no traía el seguro de cierre (yo pensé que así era pero resulta que no). Aún así cumplen con su función excelentemente.
