Too many cats!
We have too many cats (8), which puts a major burden on the plethora of litter boxes we have spread throughout the house. I purchased one Popur X5 a few months ago for a test run (albeit an expensive one) because it was recommended for multi-cat households. So far it has been absolutely wonderful and has gradually become the cats go-to litter box. Probably the most impressive aspect is it does a terrific job of containing odor. It’s also easy to keep clean, but you do have to keep an eye on the waste container (we have the plastic one and use the included bags) because if it gets too full things can get a little messy. At this point, I’m simply holding out hope that the box (and the second one I’m buying now) proves to be durable for the long haul. I’ll certainly update this review if it fails in the near term.One caveat to my review is I have not attempted to use the app, so I can’t speak to that. The reason for this is I honestly don’t feel there’s any need to. I don’t really need an another app on my phone when I can simply glance at the box and see how it’s doing.I also find the reviews talking about cat safety silly. I’ve had absolutely no concerns about this box trapping or hurting our cats.Overall, I highly recommend.

Will my cats get hurt?
Ok… so my kittens love this thing. Yesterday I finally got around to putting it out for the cats and I didn’t have to transition them, which is nice. I did a longer video to put here as well, but for some reason I can only use 1 video per review. Which is weird because a lot of the reviews for this thing have several with longer videos plus pics. The popur is saying that there is a cat in it, or maybe near it but there isn’t. I’ve unplugged it and resetted it all morning. It worked yesterday but I added more cat litter today because my kittens were trying to rip through the liner, so I thought that would help. Luckily they werent able rip the liner… yet. Maybe adding more cat litter was the problem. So, I removed the cat litter that I added and I’m getting the same results.The plastic waste bin does smell horrible! Not too bad when it closes but I don’t think you can leave the waste in there for too long, the smell lingers. I am nervous to leave this thing plugged in while I’m not at home because of the error. Even with the higher wall that I purchased, litter gets everywhere. I explained that in a longer video, but for some strange reason I’m not able to add that video at all. I really want this to work. I have spent weeks researching automatic cat litters and this seems to be the best one. I’ve researched on different amazon purchase pages, checked all the reviews which I thought were actual buyers, I’m starting to doubt that they were because other members were able to put up several videos and photos in the same review.I tried to download the app today and it says that “this app isn’t available for your device because it was made for an older version of Android.”. Huh? I do have an S24 ultra but shouldn’t the company be up to date on that? I read that the app sucks anyway. I really wish I could add more than one video so you can see that I’m an actual buyer. I left one star because my cats love it but if it weren’t for them and not being able to, they would not have gotten any stars.Also, I have 2 cats and 2 kittens. The older cats haven’t used it yet.

Easy to clean!
This is the best purchase I have made for my cats! Expensive but worth the money! Easy to clean and a lot less odor! I just bought my second one, I have three cats. I have completely eliminated the old cat boxes! Very happy!

It’s worth it!
I have 3 cats and was initially looking for a better solution when we go away for a long weekend than a standard litter box. Up to now, I’ve simply been using one or two old school litter boxes. They work perfectly fine when I’m home to clean them everday but they can get pretty nasty if not cleaned in a few days. After some research, I settled on the Popur litter box. The selling points for me where that it’s an open box design with plenty of space for my larger male cat and the very large waste tray (I opted to upgrade to the plastic tray). So far, the Popur has exceeded my expectations. My cats easily transitioned to using the Popur. It has functioned flawlessly and keeps the box very clean. The covered waste tray does a fair job of keeping smells contained. Even with 3 cats, I can easily go over a week before needing to empty the waste tray. Initially, I wasn’t sure if the sides of the box would get dirty after several uses, but that has not been an issue at all, and it looks like it’ll only require a simple wipe down once a month. I use Dr Elsey’s multi-cat litter and it works great in the Popur. One unexpected benefit I’ve noticed is that I seem to use much less litter with the Popur than with the standard litter boxes. I have set up the Popur App. It does alert me when it’s cleaning, but other than that I’m not sure it’s all that useful, and I don’t really use it much. While the original goal was for a better litter box when I was traveling, I’ve come to appreciate the convenience of not having to clean the cat box everday, the fact that the Popur stays much cleaner after every use, and in the long run, I expect to save on how much litter I use. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase!

Super quiet, wish the litter area was bigger.
I have a big, 19lb tabby boy. If the box was a half inch smaller he wouldn’t fit (that’s why it’s only 4 stars). However, he does fit, and is using it. I haven’t tried the app yet.One other note: I’m using Pretty Litter (non clumping) with it. It works great: poop is cleaned out and litter gets mixed up.If they ever make a bigger version, I’ll upgrade to it.
