Our African Grey loves it
Our parrot is pretty picky with his food but he really likes this food. He usually throws half of his food out of the cage but doesn’t do it as much with this food. Price is comparable with most parrot food nowadays. Seems to be good quality food.

Very seed heavy more of what I would call a treat as opposed to daily nutrition. Non-resealable bag
At just under $9 a pound I think this food is a bit overpriced now that I have seen it first hand. Everything on the ingredient list appears in to be in there but this is a very seed heavy mix and in my opinion lacking in the fruits and such so it will be added in addition to my go to pellet food as a bit of a treat and variety but not the main component of my african grey’s main nutrition staples. This isn’t even a resealable bag so you will want to make sure you have a canister or something to keep 5 pounds of food in as we have all torn or knocked over a bag and had to deal with the mess and due to the amount of seed like safflower in this mix that would be a mess if the bag were to spill.

Great little feed bag, i used it as chicken treats, but everyone was very happy

It looked promising
I have a parrot rescue and have a wide variety of medium and small parrots to feed, and always looking for some quality food with a good variety of ingredients. The better the variety, the more likely every bird will find something they like. Seeds are not a great source as a primary food for parrots, but they do love them. Sunflower seeds in particular should be only given in strict moderation. The description of this food has a long list of ingredients and claims no preservatives although it clearly contains several- including an iodine salt based preservative. The overwhelming vast bulk of this food is sunflower seeds. To be a proper diet, that should be the least amount of volume. At about $9/lb, it can only justify such a price if it had much more fruit and vegetable content- or even pellets. If you offer a sunflower heavy mix, they’ll load up on the seeds and not eat the veggies and fruit. I’m going to only be able to use this as treats, or spend time separating sunflower seeds to reduce them to a reasonable amount- but there’s hardly anything left if you remove the sunflower. As it stands, the price is completely out of line since it’s almost all cheap sunflower seeds. If the actual content was more like the description, the price could be justified as long as the sunflower made up no more than maybe 20% by volume at most.Summary: Too many sunflower seeds, which are unhealthy except in strict moderation. There’s almost nothing left if you remove the sunflower seeds, so it’s a premium price for mostly the cheapest filler seeds. The description makes it sound like a great variety- there just isn’t anywhere near enough of it.Two stars for falling below a reasonable level of satisfaction, as I would not purchase this and not recommend it.

Made in the USA. Wide variety of ingredients.
As to the food contained, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen this large of a variation. Things like brazil nuts, pears, cranberry, apricots, squash, taro, and others too many to name. There are also a number of vitamin supplements listed in the ingredients. This bag indicates that it contains no fillers or “harsh preservatives”, though I find it interesting that in the ingredients it lists more than a dozen additives like “ethylene diamine dihydriodide” “to preserve freshness”. Just an observation. I don’t know if these ingredients are bad or not. There are feeding instructions on the bag that say to give the listed birds five tablespoons in a deep dish. This product is Made in The USA. . .Which I like. . . But I have no idea where the ingredients are sourced.

Over priced for what it is
Price is too high for what it contains – mostly sunflower and bunch of stuff my Amazon just throws out of dish. Not a fan and won’t be purchasing in future.

This is a great food for birds. I’m glad I ordered it for my birds. I got this mix to give to my lovebirds. They love it! It is easy to store and mix in with their regular fresh food. I recommend this product.

Mixed feelings about this food
This *does* have a lot of variety in it, BUT the majority of the main fillers are the cheaper ingredients. I feel like I could easily buy most of these ingredients in bulk and make more of this myself for much less.So I mean, it’s a good bag of food, but for this price? I don’t know if I’d recommend it
