Tough, comfortable camping/lawn chair
Overall I’m fairly impressed with this chair. I think calling it “lightweight” is a bit of a stretch — admittedly, it’s certainly a lot lighter weight than lugging around a wooden Adirondack chair, and I’ve had some steel-legged folding camping chairs that were twice as heavy — but I’ve also had far lighter camping, lawn, and fishing chairs before as well. But the trade-off is that the lightest weight chairs never feel as durable and can strain under heavier bodies… This chair strikes a good balance between being not too heavy but also feeling quite tough and substantial.I weigh well over 200 pounds, and this chair holds me easily, so I’m sure it could hold heavier folks as well. I got the padded version, and for a camping chair it’s very comfortable. The canvas-like material seems tough as well, so I expect this chair should hold up for a long time.It opens and closes pretty easily. It’s not exactly a one-handed opener/closer, but there also aren’t a lot of fiddly bit to worry about — you just stretch the legs open, choose a reclining position, and that’s it. The side-pocket is a nice little bonus, for holding a book or snacks, etc.Some minor downsides, as others have mentioned: There are no armrests or cupholders, and the side pocket isn’t really designed for holding a cup either, nor is their a built-in footrest — so plan on bringing a little side table/camping-ottoman/cooler with you if you need a place to rest your drink or prop up your feet. And the recline settings can only be easily adjusted when you’re not in the chair, so if you’re sitting upright and want to lean back to relax (or vice-versa), be prepared to get up for a few seconds to adjust the lean-back position via the little slider-clamp things on the back legs. The chair is also, for better or worse, pretty close to the ground (it’s doesn’t provide a lot of height — so better for relaxing next to a pool or campfire than, say, getting a good view at an outdoor concert).
