A great camera and lens … and a cheaper way to buy both it and lens.
I am graduating from 2 Canon 60D bodies and a number of lenses – many Tamron, because I needed to downsize with my advancing age and ability to carry it all.I just finished my first 2 weeks trip with these and I am very satisfied with the results.My only negative is that the camera has TOO MANY features. I have read the 500pg manual 5 times all ready and I learn more each time, but still not there.The Tamron lens is not quite as wide angle as my Canon version of 16-300, (is is 18-300), but it seems to be of better quality that the Canon one. Perhaps improvement over the 5 years or so.The edge look somewhat better in focus and it “claims” to be fairly water/dust resistant. I luckily have not had to “test” that feature. But it does seem quite tightly made.Very happy with my purchase.(Oh, and why did I change from Canon? I bought my wife a Sony RX100M6 a couple of years ago and I have been flabbergasted with its quality!)As for the junk they have to include in the “package deal” – it is the usual cheap Asian stuff that most went to the landfill.But it was still the lowest price way to buy it (go figure…).
