Use the encosed cable with a mac!
I was coming from a 2016 Macbook Pro running an eGPU that used a Thunderbolt 3 cable. When the eGPU finally kicked it, I bought this dock. I plugged in the dock to all my 3 monitors, but only two lit up (the 4k HDMI port did not work).I was tempted to leave a 1 star review and cite another dead HDMI port issue, but it’s really my own fault- The Thunderbolt 3 cable I had used to connect my laptop to my dock didn’t support the video resolution Anker’s dock was trying to put out. When I used the enclosed USB-C cable, magically everything booted up. So, troubleshooting, you need Displayport and the enclosed Cable on a mac if you don’t have all your screens set up.My one gripe, though, is that the cord is much shorter than I wish- I use a standing desk with a laptop on the non-standing portion, would be nice if I had a little bit more room to play with when I raise the desk!

One HDMI port no longer working
This item has been working well over the last year but one of the HDMI ports is not longer working.I’ve tried multiple cables, old and recently purchased. Unplugged it completely, tried different computers nothing seems to work. While I love most Anker products, I would skip this one because of the price.

Works great with the M2 Air, needs some fiddling
If you’re buying this to use with a M1/M2 macbook air you can’t go wrong. It does require some fiddling with the software side of things to make both displays clean and easy to read. But those are free and some quick googling will get you settled. Once that’s been sorted though. Best dock I’ve ever used.

Simple and effective docking station
Quick and easy driver install for dual monitor setup. Plenty of ports for moderate use. Have not had any issues.

Works with MacBook Pro 2019
Works as advertised. Able to run 2 additional displays in addition to the internal display. While the MacBook could already run the external displays, it required connecting 2 display cables along with the power cable. Now it can be powered and run 2 external displays with a single cable connected to the MacBook. The docking station power supply is ample and charges the MacBook faster than the factory power supply. To use multiple displays, it did require downloading Display Link Manager (free) software.

Works with M1 Ultra Macbook, does not work with Thinkpad p1 gen 6 (win11)
Installing the displaylink driver on my m1 ultra macbook pro worked fine and the dual (1080p 60hz) displays worked right away fine. However, when connecting to my Thinkpad (which typically works with most dual display hubs/docks) if anything is connected to the “4K” labeled HDMI port everything freezes and lags a ton, the computer is essentially deadlocked until that HDMI port is unplugged then all inputs will suddenly update. No amount of installing/updating displaylink drivers, Lenovo specific updates, Nvidia graphics and iGPU driver updates, or rebooting would get it to work.I tried moving a working monitor from the 2K HDMI port and into the 4K HDMI port (as the only display connected) would result in the exact same freezing behavior rendering the PC unusableThis dock is advertised as universal compatibility but it is totally broken with my Thinkpad. This is a pain because we are trying to get a dock that can be used for both our Apple Silicon laptops and Windows Laptops.I’m going to have to return this and try to find something that is ACTUALLY a universal dock

Solid and reliable docking solution for more than one external monitor with macs M1/M2 (non-Pro/Max)
We use these docking station primarily with Apple MacBook Pro 13″ M1 & M2 devices. We had trouble finding a docking station that works with the regular M1/M2 (Not Pro/Max) versions of those CPUs. We had some other no-name docks, but they are failing rapidly after only being deployed for 6-8 months. The trick was these Anker docks and the DisplayLink software which you have to download and run all the time. As far as we can tell there is no way to natively display to more than one external monitor, so this is the best solution for these limited devices.

If you’ve got the M chip in your MacBook Pro this dock is amazing. The charging is very fast with the 100W, the multiple monitors works perfectly every time. The additional ports work exactly how they are supposed it. It was actually great to have a Dock that does a lot that doesn’t require fiddling or messing with to make work.

Unit is surprisingly heavy but very neat. Software download was simple and easy (restart required). Simple and quick to set up, no fettling or faffing necessary.Overall a great purchase and excellent product.

Despite Apple’s screen limitation with these earlier M1 MacBook Pros – it seems there is a way around it. You just need this amazing device from Anker – it really works as advertised. The HDMI output is set at 2k (my preferred scale) at 30 fps but can scale up to the full 4k. The DisplayPort output is running at 2k (my preferred scale) at 60 fps, and seems to be limited to 2k. Either way it’s perfect for my setup!Haven’t tested the other ports, but having ethernet, power etc…makes this just 1 USB-C cord to connect to my laptop…and can even run fine with the laptop closed.

Straight forward to connect to the laptop. Like the fact that it doubles up as a power adapter for the laptop. All my connections in one tidy area – well recommended.

Totally misleading that the docking station is the only item in the box. The DC charging is a separate item that’s la her and heavier than the docking station itself. Just way more wires ….
