My favorite speaker with a ridiculous battery!
UPDATE: I’ve had this speaker for about 3 years now, and I continue to be amazed. It sounds just as good as day one, despite getting a bit wet on more than one occasion (it isn’t certified waterproof like the SoundCore 2). And the battery STILL lasts about a week on a charge. I legitimately forget I have to charge it, after 3 YEARS! The value in this thing is insane, I can’t recommend it enough! I know some people think Anker has been slacking a bit as of late, but this speaker is still king in my book!I’m never let down by Anker products. I bought my first battery pack from them back in 2012, and I’ve been hooked ever since. This speaker is no exception. Let me just break it down into my personal pros and cons-Pros:-Crisp, clear sound. Highs are clean, mids are pronounced, and bass has a bit of oomph. Not room shaking, but more than enough for a speaker this portable. Easily the best sound I’ve heard from a $33 speaker.-Battery life. Oh my god, it lasts forever. I’ve charged it once since I got it (a week ago) and used it every day for at least a few hours. I’ve left it playing at low volume while I sleep twice (16 hours at least). Basically, you can count on charging this thing about once or twice a week. If you have an iphone on iOS 11 you can also see the battery percentage in increments of 10% on your widget screen. Pretty nifty!-Build Quality. This thing feels so premium. The texture, the weight, the attention to detail. I have the blue one, and it really stands out.-Port placement. I’ve had many speakers, and the ports are usually on the back. Not here. Anker put them on the side, so you can listen to music with the speaker facing toward you, or facing upward to give a more room-filling sound. All while being charged or connected via aux input.-Little details. When I turn on my old speaker, it makes a loud BLOOP BLOOP noise, making everyone within 100 feet of me aware of its presence. This speaker, even when the volume is up, plays its “turning on bloops” much more quietly. Loud enough to hear, but not gonna wake up your sleeping spouse if you want to listen to some quiet tunes. Also, the blue light is behind the speaker grill, so it’s not obnoxiously bright when it’s on. Another detail that I really appreciate. You can tell Anker puts a lot of thought into their product designs.Cons:-It could stand to be a little louder. It gets plenty loud for a medium sized room, but my older soundbot speaker (which is much more cheaply made) got a bit louder than this one. Still, it sounds so clear and dynamic that I would always choose it over the soundbot.-Not waterproof. Can’t get too mad at this, though, since they remedied this with the SoundCore 2. So avoid the beach with this lil guy.So, I’m obviously in love with this speaker. You did it again, Anker! On top of how much I love the actual speaker, I also always appreciate the followup email from Anker, asking if everything is up to my expectations. Their extra effort in customer satisfaction is greatly appreciated in a time when many companies seem to be skimping. Thanks again for a knockout purchase, Anker!

Very very good
Sounds great, excellent battery life, built tough. Had my first one since2019 using it at work blasting it all day on most days and just recently the Bluetooth was getting a little weak so I ordered the same model but a different color

Great Little Speaker
I’ve been a fan of all of Anker’s products and this is no exception. It is a very effective small portable speaker. The sound is great for the size and the battery lasts for a much longer time than I expected. It has been the most trouble free Bluetooth enabled device I have ever linked to my iPhone. My google home mini speakers invariably drop connections and seem to labor to connect. This thing connects first time, every time AND has never dropped the connection once!I definitely recommend this for portable sound via Bluetooth.

Good quality
Love Anker products. Speaker is perfect for my purpose. Clarity is good, lightweight & small, doesn’t take up a lot of space.

Very Good Sound for Less, with a Top Quality Build!
This unit is built well, and sounds very good with the acoustic and jazz recordings we enjoy. Plays well as our speaker when watching movies via Prime through our mac mini (our main reason for looking for a speaker, since the mini only has a very small reference speaker). It is attractive and solid with a confident weight, which makes it sit well and feel quality-built. There is nothing plastic about the exterior. The battery life is also amazing! We powered it up about four weeks ago and then promptly lost the power cable and it just keeps playing. The company includes a 1/8″ cable to play sound directly from a device, which is what we primarily use it for (although this unit is clearly portable, ours primarily sits next to our mac mini). So, the included audio cable is usually connected to our mac.For people using bluetooth only for music, the frontside blue light is like any other: it indicates search (blinking) and connected (solid) when powered on. A minor issue for us, which we’ve adjusted to, is when we play movies through the mac using the cable, the blue light kept blinking (it’s a bluetooth device, of course, so it’s doing what it is supposed to do). That created a distraction. Our solution was to cover the light, which works, but distracts from the design during daylight ours. We have since found another work around to keep the blue light steady: we pair the device with one of our iphones for music or podcast playback via bluetooth. When watching movies, we still override the input with the provided audio cable, but the BT connection also remains with the iphone (which is not providing sound output). The resolves the blinking blue light issue which was distracting when watching movies. (Another minor thing about bluetooth, which we have noticed, is that lip syncing during movie playback is delayed by a fraction of a second. I edit audio and am prone to notice this minor detail.) The direct cable link syncs everything fine. Of course, when streaming audio only, there is no noticeable delay. Our recommendation to Anker engineering is to develop a method to “pause” the blinking blue light when the audio cable is plugged into the speaker.Otherwise, Anker is a terrific company to do business with as they have excellent customer service and quality products. This is our fourth different Anker product: the others are portable power chargers for our iphones that fit in our pockets: https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Portable-Technology-Certified-Lightning/dp/B00M8YXV1Q/ref=dp_ob_title_wldAnd, an external USB-3 2.5″ drive enclosure, which we are using to power up our 2014 mac mini via an SSD 6G drive:https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Drive-External-Enclosure-9-5mm/dp/B00H98AXOE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486566119&sr=8-1&keywords=anker+2.5%22+external+usb+3

Great Bluetooth Speaker
Third one of these – I think it’s a great little speaker. I gave this one as a gift. I have one at home and one in my office at work. Great sound. Easy to take care – remember to charge the battery once per month if not using. I like that I can listen while charging, even when the battery is fully discharged.

I am a picky guy when it comes to products, I go over quality than affordability. Anker SoundCore is one of Ankers portable speakers which competes with high-end/expensive portable speakers. with a speaker at this price point I was expecting to get a mediocre sound quality, but read the full review to see what I got from this speakers usage over 6 months.Style and built: This speaker looks a bit larger in photos but it is a big small and in a compact form. It has squarish with rounded edges with matte finish, which makes it look sleek. I choose blue over black for its brightness, plus black sounds boring. The speaker is really small for what it can deliver, plus it is much smaller than high-end/expensive speakers. Not to mention the speaker weighs almost nothing, well its about 400 gram.performance: As mentioned, I was not expecting high quality sound from those speakers for their price, but during the period of my usage they did deliver good sound quality for different type of musics. the highs and mids of this speaker is close to perfect, they deliver high-mid range frequencies (Piano, Guitar, Vocals and any similar type of sounds) sounds clearly without much distortion. The low range frequencies is where Anker lacks a bit, the base is there but is not enough to feel it, I would not complain about it much for its compact and small form factor, this makes the speaker a bit drawback for EDM music, other than that the base is good almost for any other music style. overall the speaker delivers crisp sound and loud enough.Battery: BATTERY! yes, uppercase, Anker SoundCore beats all other speakers with its battery life. Anker claims 24 hours of battery. I think it can last even more, I charge this speaker every once a week just to make sure it always have a full battery at the start of the week, I use this speaker mostly during shower/cooking every day, and never ran out of battery, I never charged it because I was out of battery. This makes the speaker superior for long outdoor camps where there is no electricity yet you want to enjoy the music.Pros:Solid and compact built that can fit in any carry on bag.Crisp and detailed sound with high-mid frequencies.BATTERY! long enough not to worry about if its going to run out of any.Cons:Low frequencies are not enough to fill the base intended to produce, it is not that bad, but it would not be a great speaker for EDM music. There is no hole or a place to attack a strap on the speaker, so you can only use the speaker when it is stationary. If you want to use it while moving, I do recommend Anker SoundCore Sport XL speaker:(https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01DZ56MX0?psc=1)Personal Opinion:Overall, this speaker delivers a solid, and crisp sound with its small and compact form factor. I am a student and use this speaker while I shower or do cooking, occasionally I use it outdoor for camping. the battery is what makes me like the speaker more than its sound quality, it is long enough not to worry about it at all, you can travel without thinking about charging it for a week. this speaker would be great for:Students: this is mainly because of its small and compactness, this will make the speaker fairly small and light.Camping: its good for camping for its superior battery life, it is not loud enough to party on it, but its good to listen to some music in silent while hanging in the tent :).Cooking/showering: I used 6 months mostly while showering and cooking and it served pretty well for both.If you want a portable speaker to make the sound of your iPhone louder and more enjoyable, consider this speaker to be your favorite. I did not use this speaker to make phone calls, it does not advertise of it having a mic, so I believe its not meant for phone calls directly through the speaker.Note: I did get this speaker for free as a replacement for my defective unit, I do such a long review in order to support Anker for its customer service and help them to make better products.

FOUR (4) freakin years I’ve used and abused this thing and it just won’t die !I really want to buy the Soundcore Motion+ , but I can’t justify it right now because I still have this one.I’ve dropped it, kicked it, forgot it outside for days, ran it for hours on end, overcharged it leaving it plugged in for days, blasted it louder than satan’s farts and it still won’t die.My wife even threw it at me the other day and smacked me in the head – no damage …and let me tell ya , I fell off the roof once, landed on the deck… my head didn’t break – the deck board did! BUT did this darn Anker speaker even suffer a hint of damage when it smacked my melon? oh no-nonono… working just as good as new and still sounds great. I’m thinking a space shuttle tiled with these damm things would be bloody-well indestructible! And WTH is with the freakin battery in this thing ? alien technology? I have to charge my phone after a few hours, but I’m listening to the audio-book of “The 3 Body Problem” (best thing EVER to come out of China imho) I’m near the end of book 3 now and in between I’ve listened endless hours of music that pisses off my wife (why do they all hate ACDC?) and I can’t even remember which month I last recharged this crazy speaker. Please Anker make a cell phone!Someday when this thing meets a tragic end I’ll get the Soundcore Motion+ and probably annoy my wife even more with that, but until then I guess I’ll continue to use this thing as a speaker and maybe to stop my car from rolling back or fight off aliens or something worthy of a small indestructible cube.

I wasn’t expecting much from this small speaker since I’ve bought their older tinnier speaker ages ago. I was in for a surprise because not only does the SoundCore look and feel nice with its dark blue color and matte smooth texture, it also provided enough power to sound great in a normal sized room. What I didn’t expect was that it was loud enough to enjoy poolside! It took less than a minute to pair the speaker with my phone. I pressed the intuitive bluetooth button and found it perfectly labeled in my phone’s bluetooth discovery menu. It stays connected to the same device until you pair it with another device, which I did easily. One other very important thing to note is that a full charge lasts a long time. I haven’t measured it, but I’ve used it for an hour or so several times with days in between without needing to charge.I do wish that it came with a strap to easily hang it on my wrist, but that’s really a minor thing. Also, with the announcement of Google Home, it would be great if all speakers come fitted with Google Cast abilities by the end of the year.I really enjoy using this speaker and wouldn’t hesitate to buy more for myself or as a gift.Anker sent me this unit for my honest feedback.

Received this speaker couple days ago. I’m now using it the whole week. This speaker doesn’t disappoint me. It could be perfectly used in almost any environment: Office, house, party, car, beach, park. I’m not a music professional but I’m very delicate with the music devices I play, I don’t like speakers that are noisy or that are not clear with the sound. Also something I love of this device is the battery autonomy, is not easy to find a speaker with good sound and good battery autonomy, the balance in this speaker is excellent.I have some points regarding this:- The speaker sound quality is awesome clear. When the musing needs bass, it will provide the correct bass compensation to the music.- Is easy to configure with any Bluetooth device- The music can be paused, started in the speaker and in your device.- The controls are easy to use, and with good durability.- The battery life last longer than you may think, I used it last night 6 hours without powering it off (I fell asleep).- The instructions included in the box are perfectly documented to help you get started and enjoy your music.- The weight of the device is perfect. What could be better:- The Charging cable could be longer- More colors- IPx certification (Some people like me, take it to the beach)After using it in different environment I point that when this speaker stop working I will buy the next generation, my experience was very good. Also I made a video with some aspect of the speaker: (…)DISCLAIMER: I was provided with a free sample of this product. This doesn’t affect my criteria and judgement of the product, my review is provided without being forced or being paid to give a positive review. I’m not also attached or related of any way to Anker. I’m just a happy customer.

It’s been 2 years since I purchase it. After many times my toddler and my man drop it, it is still working.
