An Excellent Microphone from first impressions.
I just got my first couple hours out of this mic, and I gotta say the audio quality is superb for the price point. I havenât owned a microphone before thatâs sounded nearly as good, especially out of the box without any post-processing. Setup is also really simple, just plug it in through USB or through USB-C with the included adapter, and then optionally plug a pair of headphones into the mic to passthrough sound and mic playback. The mic is also RGB lit and reacts to if itâs muted or not, which adds to the aesthetic if thatâs important to you, and has a small touch-based button to mute/unmute. Itâs a great piece of hardware from the time I spent with it but if anything changes Iâll come back to this review.

Great mic With Great Sound Quality – Make Sure You Download the Firmware
This microphone works great, I highly recommend it with the OEM Audio-Technica Pop Filter and Shock Mount, although the Audio-Technica boom arm seems to be quite overpriced for no real advantage over competing products, I bought an InnoGear boom arm for 1/3rd the price Audio-Technica is offering theirs, and have no complaints about its quality.Note that to use this you MUST go to Audio-Technica’s website and download the “USB Device Update Utility V1.1.0” off the official site if you want this microphone to work.

Likes: higher-quality audio compared to the AT2020USB+, minimalistic features and style, works with everything that has a USB port, and was generally pretty easy to set up.Dislikes: no software to customize the microphone, very pricy (even with the sale), and doesn’t include any microphone essentials such as a windscreen, pop filter, or other accessories (a mild nitpick). It’s already implied, but you need high-quality studio headphones or speakers to really take advantage of the sound quality.Keep in mind that some people may not be able to hear the difference in audio as it’s a separate issue on the recipient’s part (or not at all, depending on the context).

I was in the market to upgrade the sound of my USB microphone. I own a Rode NT USB, but it’s now a little too flat sounding for my taste and needs – and has no mute button. After some research and watching demos on the inyternty I bought the Audio-Technica AT2020USB-X . It delivers amazing clarity, boost and has a touch sensitive mute button. The headphone volume is great and it comes with a mounting nut so you can put it on a boom arm. Please note that if you are thinking of buying this microphone you should also buy a pop filter. it’s very sensitive as are most high quality microphones… the rest is about your technique. Gorgeous clear sound 10+.

Real upgrade
The AT2020 is a real upgrade for my voice acting from the Sure mic Iâd previously been using. Love the Susan option as Iâm plugging into my MacBook Pro. Itâs really plug and play. Please do check the sample and bit setting in System Preferences but after that – so easy to connect 1/8thâ headphones to the mic to feed music from the laptop in and mix with voice playback. Iâm delighted to get recording so swiftly after unboxing and the sound so far is miles beyond what Iâd previously been using. Great value for the price. Worth it!

Great starter mic!
Top quality, when a screen and pop filter this mic sounds very clear. I use this for gaming and my voice overs, and my voice comes across clear and studio quality. Eventually I will upgrade but I am in no rush as long as this mic works as it does.

Excelente para captação de voz, tem que usar meio “de ladinho” ou com um pop bom, assim como todo USB ele “pufa” um pouco, mas isso resolve. No mais, tá na lida substituindo um Rode NT2A. Esse 2020 é tão bom que comprei uma versão XLR pra deixar de backup. Vale a pena.Ps: p pop filter que está na foto NAO ACOMPANHA o produto. Na época da minha compra a foto era só do Mic, suporte de mesa e cabo, e é isso que vem, não vem pop filter.

This microphone is kind of the definition of “diminishing returns”.It’s *great*, but honestly you’re getting into “technically better” And looking at numbers on a screen to tell the difference.You can spend $100 less on a microphone than this and only an audiophile will likely tell the difference, you won’t get a crispy podcast sound out out of this if that’s what you’re looking for.Moreover, with most places you will use this microphone, (calls, games) they will only have a certain amount of microphone audio quality to be sent over the computer, so unless you’re professionally recording your own audio it’s probably a moot purchase.
