Windproof? Depends on How Fast You’re Riding
I have four other balaclavas at home and frankly, none of them have met my strict standards for fall/winter riding. To break it down, this one is solidly built. It’s constructed of tough nylon and polyester that has good seams and sewing. For that alone, it’s worth the purchase as there are many that are poorly built. It has a full neckline, which is critical when you’re wearing it with a helmet because half of my problem is most have an air gap somewhere that lets in the freezing air. When I’m riding motorcycle or snowmobile, it almost never fails that air comes in somewhere and creates a near frostbite point. This mask has been the lone successful one to avoid that. The cutout for glasses is pretty intuitive because it actually works. They made it long enough for the movement needed. The reflectors aren’t substantial enough to make a difference in traffic. My three big gripes: 1. The eye area is a bit restrictive. It’s not designed for every head and some will struggle with the peripheral obstruction. 2. The nose area is a bit too tight and it needs more flexibility. 3. It’s warmish, but when you’re doing over 20mph, it’s just like all the others. I can’t find a balaclava that really shields me from fast-moving wind, so this one will have to do. It now takes the #2 spot in my collection.

Balaclava
Fits my husband well. Itâs soft and doesnât make him sweat. There are holes on the side for his glasses which is great. Keeps him warm and is comfortable to wear.

Good basic warner
This is a great face sock. It does help keep some warmth in. I wouldn’t say it is max warmth but it definitely helps.

Incredibly stretchy and comfortable
The head mask is stretchy and lightweight.I like that there are holes for my sunglasses stems. It fits a little loose in top of the head but I assume I would wear a hat over the top so that’s fine. The baclava can be put up over the nose or pulled down to protect the neck.

warm, but not compatible with goggles
Likes* soft and warm inside* several pieces of fabric sewn together, so it’s sculpted to a head* there’s a slit for glasses* there’s reflective decals to improve your visibility for othersDislikes* small opening for your eyes. I know this will fog up with goggles because the goggles will go on top of the fabric.* despite the various pieces of fabric, the front is tight on your nose. This gets uncomfortable quickly.ConclusionsI’m not a fan of this balaclava. If I wear it, I will have a helmet and goggles on over it, and this will not be comfortable. My goggles will also fog up because the air readily goes up towards your eyes rather than through the fabric. If you would wear this without a helmet and goggles, it might work for you.

Amazing!
Purchased this for my partner to go skiing in, in December. Great quality materials, soft and nice even stitching. Love the cut out holes for glasses, which I didn’t even notice when I ordered but is an amazing addition. Fits him well and feels warm, and going to be an amazing addition come powder season!

The mask part is too tall. Doesn’t breathe well.
I got this balaclava ski mask to wear when cycling in freezing weather and protect my face and neck. It is made out of a soft spandex-like fabric and fits snugly over my head. There are cutouts above each ear for your glasses to pass through and reflective patches on the back for extra visibility. The mouth cover is made separate and can be worn with it up or down.It didn’t quite work out, though. The mouth cover sits too high and constantly tries to cover my eyes. It’s more than a little bit annoying. I’ve had to fold it under slightly to keep it from doing that, but them it doesn’t do a good job of protecting my cheeks. I’ve worn it in freezing weather and it does a good job of keeping the wind off of my neck, but I haven’t been able to keep it on my mouth or nose because it rides up and then fogs my glasses. If the mouth piece didn’t fit so high, it’d be perfect, but as is, not so much. I’d recommend getting one that is a one-piece design instead.
