Great sound for the price
I picked up the pair of these for $35. They fit perfectly in the front doors of my 01 Silverado 1500. They sound great and I am running them with a 50W per channel pioneer aftermarket stereo.

BOSS Better than expexted and would reccomend 2002 silverado front door instalation
OK the reason for the 5 vs 4 stars is you have to admit that you know what you are getting and for the price they are worth the money.In the past I would have not even looked at BOSS Audio stuff it was what they used to sell at the flea market and was cheaply made to be honest.HOWEVER I needed some new door speakers for my truck and I read ALOT of articles on speakers and for the price everyone said they could not beat these there were in the top 10 list on most reviews for a good low priced speaker that surprised the reviewers.So I took and a chance and got a pair and I have to say I have been really impressed with these little speakers you can hear the words in the lyrics in songs very clearly and have great highs and midrange.The bass end is not very endearing there is some but its more mid than deep, pair these with something like a powered under seat sub and I think you would have a very well rounded system that doesn’t sound like you got a bag of tin cans in the trunk.I tried a cd with Sinatra to Die Antwoord with a little old school in there and they seemed to handle them all well. I would recommend turning down your treble some if your ride came with the extra factory tweeters like mine did or else it can be a little on the sharp side.Would I buy them again: YesWhat kind of music: all types even talk radio like NPR or Savage the clarity of the voices is sooo much better.Cons: Could use a little more on the lower end.Pros: price and build ~ compared to what they used to sell these are 100 times better than what they used to market.Note on the 2002 Silverado I got the snap in rings to mount these and the rings were too small on the inside diameter and pressed on the rubber surround, I was able to take the factory clips and re use them and they fit perfect with these speakers so save some money and don’t get the rings.Metra 82-3002 GM Full Size P/U SUV Speaker Adaptors 1995-2005

Shoulda paid a couple more dollars for something else
Decent sound at low levels, but if you turn them up (not blasting them anywhere near full volume. Somewhere around half volume on a regular stereo inside a single cab truck) and they start crackling. Not very impressed with that

Speaker wire broke on its own after 10 days
I realize these are cheap speakers, but that doesn’t mean they have the right to break after only 10 days! And let me stress, they are not installed in a daily driver vehicle … the vehicle has only been used four or five times in the past 10 days.The wire from the woofer speaker broke at the solder connection (which is inconveniently located under the plastic housing of the tweeter, so it’s not easy to repair). Fortunately, I have decades of electronics repair experience, so with a soldering kit and tweezers, I was able to repair the dang thing. That doesn’t mean I’m not grossly disappointed.

I replaced my 6.5 inch JBL home book shelf speakers (after my nephew poked and broke them) with these. I really do not notice the difference. I think it even may sound better. I’m happy about having such an inexpensive fix.
