Be sure to test it right away.
First one was defective and had to be returned – this is apparently not uncommon, so be sure to test yours right away. Nice assortment of powered and nonpowered connections. Disappointing that only one display (HDMI or DisplayPort) will work at a time and not both of them. Would be nice to have a two-monitor display coming out of this thing. Power supply is rather large and heavy which is not a surprise at the claimed wattage – traveling with it is going to be a bit of a chore so it’s probably best left more or less permanently in your office or home.

    Work-From-Home Savior.
This unit is the most simplified and sleek version of a computing hub I have bought, and at a great price! It has all the capabilities I need, including multiple USB3.0 ports, USB-C, HDMI, Ethernet and SD. My remote work setup has been needlessly complicated up until now. I can charge my phone, link my monitors, and work around the need for an extra USB dock.

Works ok with MacBook Pro 2020 but only one display port can be used at one time!
Pros:- Mentioned below as a con, this device does not support PD (PowerDelivery). However, it does power my 2020 MacBook Pro so I can now use that as a travel charger.- Front area has ports for memory stick, USB-A data port, USB-A Data/Charge port, and a USB-C Data/Charge port.Cons:- There are 2 USB-C ports but one is for the host computer, so there is really only 1 remaining for devices and the port can only be used for storage devices and power – it can NOT be used for external display.- For display, there is an HDMI 2.1 Video Port and DisplayPort 1.4 – there is no USB-C port for video.- The power adapter is a big bulky brick – does not support PowerDelivery.- After just using for 1 hour, the device runs warm/hot.- Doesn’t affect the functionality but the paint on the device is defective. Probably packed before the painted dried, you can see the excess paint on the interior packaging – I almost deducted a star for this but didn’t since it didn’t affect the functionality and I keep the device hidden under a shelf.Summary:My goal was to have one USB-C cable going into my MacBook Pro 2020 and have everything else (2 Displays, camera, network, storage and accessories) plugged into the docking station. My goal was almost met but since I don’t have a DisplayPort 1.4 cable, I was only able to connect to one of my monitors using the HDMI port. For the other monitor, I’m using the MacBook USB-C port. I’ll update this review later once I buy a DisplayPort cable.[01/05/2025 Update]I got a DisplayPort cable and confirm that this device can support the DisplayPort port for an external display. However, when I connect both the DisplayPort and HDMI port at the same time, only one works with the HDMI port taking priority. Deducting another Star based on this limited functionality.

    Didn’t work at all…
Absolute overpriced rubbish…Apple and Windows wouldn’t detect this docking station. I tried multiple machines with different OS’s and this wasn’t detected nor would it work.I’m assuming that the unit I received was somehow defective but this ended up being a horridly awkward Christmas present as it didn’t work…

you get what you paid for
For example: I can displayport 1440p at 165hzI can also dual plug displayport and HDMIBUT: if i have both plugged in to the dock, then the displayport only functions 1080p@60hzThis is on a thunderbolt capable Dell with an i7-1370p

I’ve been looking for a docking station for a while, and other names like Anker and Kensington appeared to me.But what I can definitely say is that this little guy is amazing! The quality is noticeable, and all the connectivity is great (by far better than the competitors’ specs). It works flawlessly with my work PC and my Mac.All of that in such a low footprint on my desk! And the price is so much better than those 200+ options available on the market.I highly recommend.

This Brydge Stone CORE USB-C Docking Station has a premium look and build with features comparable to docking stations costing several times more. Some of the key features include support for PD 100W, dual monitor support for 4K@60Hz and a SD 4.0 reader up to 300MB/s. All of this for under $60 makes this docking station a great value. However, there are some quirks I ran into that would limit my use of this docking station which I will detail later. First the pros, the build quality of the Stone CORE is excellent. The layout is a bit odd with ports on 3 sides with the Kensington security slot on left. I thought I wouldn’t like it but I rather appreciated the layout once I started using it. The power input, display ports and Ethernet are on the back, perfect. The host port along with 2 USB-A ports are on the right. With my setup, the docking station is to the left of my laptop so this worked great for me. Then the front has easy access to the SD reader, 2 USB-A ports and a single USB-C port. The docking station comes with a 130W power adapter and the PD 100W to the host worked with my Acer laptop. My Acer complains with any power source that is not delivering 100W and with the Stone CORE, it did not complain. The SD card reader worked great with my UHS-I cards and benchmarked better than my Lexar USB SD card reader. All the USB ports worked and I could get dual monitor output at 4K using the DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 ports. Now the quirks and issues. While I could get dual display, only the DisplayPort was at 60Hz while HDMI was at 30Hz. The Stone CORE is supposed to support dual 4K@60Hz. I tried swapping monitors and different cables but no luck, only the DisplayPort was outputting at 60Hz. If I disconnected the DisplayPort, I was getting 4K@60Hz via HDMI so at least I knew the HDMI port wasn’t defective. It could just be my setup or my Acer laptop but I don’t think it is because my Plugable docking station works fine with dual 4K@60Hz with same laptop. Granted, the Plugable is 4 times the price but also has 2.5G Ethernet and Thunderbolt support. Other limitations with the Stone CORE is the USB ports only support up to 5Gbps, even the USB-C port and Ethernet is 1Gbps. However, to be fair at this price point, this docking station is considered to be entry-level despite having other great features like the PD 100W and dual monitor support. I think if you don’t plan to use this with dual monitors and don’t need Thunderbolt, or faster USB ports or 2.5G Ethernet, the Stone CORE is a great docking station at this price point. It is currently in use on my wife’s desk with a single monitor and it’s been working reliably so far.

I use this docking station with my laptop in my music studio. I use my laptop for music but also for everything else. When it’s time to make music I go into my studio and plug into the dock and my two monitors are already hooked up to it and it makes things much easier than messing with multiple cords as I just connect up with the one USB-C host port. I also like to use a wired internet connection and this handles that too.Another thing I like about this is that I’m not putting wear and tear on all my laptop USB ports when using this, I just have to use the one. So I can have all of my music gear always plugged into the docking station and it’s always ready to go with one USB-C connection to the docking station. Very easy and convenient. This docking station is also a decent weight and has grip on the bottom so it doesn’t slide around on your desk.My monitors worked fine with this but I only have 1080p monitors so I could not test the high resolution modes.Comes With:- docking station- power adapter with brick- instructions- USB-C cord for host portPros:- easy to use- solid construction- powered hub- won’t slide around your deskCons:- none

What’s included:- USB-C docking station- Power brick and plug- USB-C to USB-C cable to host- User manualThe USB-C docking station by Brydge features several port options but lacks a 2.5Gbps ethernet port which is a little disappointing. The docking station is made of all plastic and is quite light. In terms of the physical footprint of the docking station, it is approximately 12cm by 12cm and takes up little space on a desk which is very helpful.Like many docking stations this one has several ports for a variety of purposes including 3 USB-A ports, a couple of USB-C ports, as well as others including both an HDMI 2.1 and Display port 1.4 which is another attractive quality. The inclusion of a display port is particularly helpful because the PCs that I do have all have HDMI ports meaning the connection from PC to monitor is exclusively through an HDMI cable. By adding a display port to this docking station, there is now an additional method of connection through a display port cable which has increased my connectivity and expanded my display coverage which is wonderful.According to the listing, this docking station can power an 8K display at 30Hz however I am not able to confirm or validate this due to not having an 8K or even 4K display, but I do have several displays in the 2K range and this docking station has no problem powering those monitors easily at 60Hz.The USB cable to the host is on the right side of the docking station so if your workstation or laptop is on the left side of your desk it would be an awkward u-turn of the cable which would potentially be an issue for some. Because my laptop workstation is on the right side of my desk, this set up is ideal and the included 3′ long cable is more than enough length to connect the docking station to the laptop.Unfortunately with a power source of only 100W this docking station is not quite strong enough to power my work station. Using it with my laptop always results in slow or subpar charging and so it is not as effective as I would like forcing me to use my laptop’s power source and so this is something that should be noted before purchase. The ethernet port is another limiting aspect of this docking station since it is only a gigabit ethernet port that comes with the docking station. This review is being written at the end of 2024, and its somewhat disappointing to continue to see some companies using gigabit ethernet options as their connection of choice. As noted earlier the docking station does feature a USB-C port but this does not include video. So while this docking station does feature a variety of ports including a display port, some of the choices to equip this docking station with are a bit disappointing.Overall this docking station works as expected. Although I cannot validate a couple of the claims, the ones that I can, have performed well. My only issue with this docking station is that it lacks some of the features of a docking station at this point in time, especially given the price point. The real benefit may perhaps come from the port configuration and small footprint, but if functionality is the goal, there are perhaps better more up to date options which may be considered as alternatives.Cheers,

I work from home and my desk is used for both work and gaming. I have a super ultra wide 49″ gaming monitor, unfortunately it only has a single Display Port input which is used on my gaming PC to get full spec out of the monitor. The other two inputs are HDMI 2.1 which I use to connect my work laptop. The resolution on my monitor is 5k by 2k, the total pixel count is still less than 4k resolution however I have found that most docks do not work properly and forces the monitor to run at a lower resolution. This dock advertises it has HDMI 2.1 and I am happy to report that through HDMI, it can still handle the full resolution of my monitor at 60hz.The dock itself is quite nice, it kind of reminds me of a small nook pc. The square shape makes it have a small footprint but I do wish the inputs/outputs where focused on the front and back rather than the side. The dock requires power through the included power brick, this allows the dock to also charge your laptop through the USB-C cable. The USB-C cable that connect to the PC is also detachable which is great, it allows for more flexibility if a longer cable is required. The dock includes plenty of IO so you can plug in everything needed for the PC, this includes five USB-A, one USB-C, an SD card reader, and an ethernet port. It does not have a headphone jack.Overall I am super happy with this dock, it is easy to setup and use, allows for flexibility with a removable USB-C cable, and performs very well, especially for the price.
