This review is for Burt’s Bees for Pets Waterless Cat Grooming Spray with Shea Butter and Honey. I had noticed that our one year old female Russian Blue was getting static shocked recently. Since I keep the humidifier going in the Winter and had even set it for higher moisture she was continuing to get shocked. I suggested to my wife we look for some sort of moisturizer for cats. When we ran across this we immediately ordered it because we have been using Burt’s Bees products for years. Just as soon as we no more than put a light coat on our four cats they too could tell the difference and were very happy. They don’t mind the light scent and it doesn’t affect their cleaning themselves. I am so glad we found Burt’s Bees for Pets Waterless Cat Grooming Spray with Shea Butter and Honey. I highly recommend it. I am sure it would be great for dogs too.

My cat does not really bathe herself. She is a lazy lump. I thought I just had to brush her and I would just have to deal with the dander. She has always had this wirey type of hair that felt course too. I have started using this dry shampoo every couple days with one of those misting brushes on the other days and WOW. She is actually getting soft! I’m sure after a few more applications she will be even softer on her back.
For the application, it’s easy and she doesn’t mind me spraying it on her as she has always loved brush time. You don’t have to rinse it you just spray and brush it in. Seems to dry relatively quickly and the quality of ingredients seem pretty good too, no alcohols. And the scent isn’t strong as that can bother cats, very mild if anything at all really

My review is mostly for the packaging. The shampoo came in a plastic bottle, encased in a sealed plastic bag….just like it should. I noticed some liquid at the bottom of the plastic bag but just figured it leaked a little, no big. Cut off the top of the bag and set the shampoo bottle on the counter, noticed it was all wet so rinsed it off and set it aside. Today when I decided to use it, sprayed a bit onto a brush – it sprayed fine BUT it also sprayed/leaked out the bottom of the bottle! Luckily I had another spray bottle to pour what was left out of the bad bottle. Then I put some water in the Burts Bees bottle and tried the spray again – same thing, the spray worked fine but it also came out the bottom of the bottle. Couldn’t see a hole but under pressure it sure sprayed out….so in the garbage it went.
I did use what I’d sprayed on the brush to run it though my long haired cats coat. The fragrance is nice, she didn’t mind it at all, too early to rate the shampoo. Thought I’d report on the bottle issue in case someone else get’s a bad one….maybe this bottle was the 1 out of a million.

After I got this item, I used it which was a very easy ress spray, and used it. My cat was a bit scared thing it was water, but she was fine with it. After spraying it on her, then rubing it on her, the fur was very silky and soft. The smell was horrible, but It wasn’t good. It kind of smells like a dog. This product did work perfectly, and made my cat smell different, but best of all, made the softest cat I ever felt.

I recently tried Burt’s Bees for Pets Cat Natural Waterless Shampoo with Shea Butter and Honey, and I am very impressed with the results. This product has been a game-changer for keeping my cat, Squeaks, clean without the stress of a full bath! He does not like baths.
This shampoo is incredibly convenient. It’s easy to apply and doesn’t require any rinsing, which is perfect for Squeaks since he isn’t a fan of water. The shampoo has a pleasant, mild scent which leaves Squeaks smelling fresh without being overpowering. Once brushed through and dried, it leaves his fur feeling softer as well!
Overall, I highly recommend this shampoo. It’s a fantastic solution for cat owners looking for a quick, effective, and gentle way to keep their pets clean. Just don’t spray it in your face! I did it by accident, and it tasted very bad. Not at all like honey, in case you were wondering.

My cat already has a really soft fluffy coat so I can’t comment on that, but he now LOVES brushing time vs before where he fought the brush. He also would rather die than take a normal bath, so this is perfect. His coat is even SOFTER than before, which is saying alot. One perk I didn’t even expect but was very happy about is his shedding has gone down and he seems to scratch less than before! I think it helps with cats with sensitive skin or dandruff, but I wouldn’t know as my cat didn’t have this issue before, and even if he did, it’s now gone. Shedding has been AMAZINGLY reduced.
Alot of people were complaining about the smell, but I personally didn’t mind it, it reminds me of other Burt’s bees products, maybe like their unsented skincare wipes would be the closest description. It’s natural products, it’s gonna have a slight smell, but to me it’s not offensive or bothersome, for me or the cat. He always cleans himself after we have our little brushing routine, and doesn’t seem to notice at all that I’ve made his coat nice and fresh.
The reason I needed to invest in this is he isn’t the best about his paws, and spreads his litter and litter smell places, which isn’t ideal for my tiny room, so I had to figure out a way to clean him quickly and efficiently, and this is perfect for both. It gets rid of pee/litter smell very very well. Photos for enjoyment, but also a before and after. He’s always eager for his spa day 🙂
