My Dog Looks So Funny But I think It Helps
I know this says they’re for cats but we got it for our Yorkie-Poo. She is already really skittish all the time so when there is a thunderstorm or fireworks (we live near a baseball field where they set them off frequently) she really freaks out.We have tried using calming treats and they do help, but we can only give her one a day and sometimes a storm may go on for hours (or days). We have also tried music, having the tv loud, and even having a white noise machine pretty loud all in an attempt to drown out whatever loud sound is upsetting her. These all help, BUT we have discovered that she is most likely to calm down if we wrap her up in a blanket, cover her ears, and pretty much leave enough of her unwrapped to see and breathe. I should mention that our dog likes to bury her head under things like blankets, pillows, her beds, and if you have her on your lap she will even turn around and bury her head in your armpit lol. So again, while this helped, it wasn’t practical or a perfect solution because we can’t hold her all the time.I have read somewhere that sometimes covering *just* their ears/head can help them calm down. We already knew that she liked to have her head covered even when there wasn’t a loud noise scaring her and it helped to calm her by swaddling her when there was, so we have experimented with just covering her ears/head during a thunderstorm. We would cover her head/ears with a blanket but as soon as we got up and went somewhere she would follow us and the blanket would fall off. Same thing with a scarf. We even tried tying the scarf around her head/neck but it wouldn’t stay on her ears and head and would fall down around her neck. So while she looks cute and fashionable it didn’t help lol. That’s where this comes in.With this, it’s basically like a sleeve that you pop their head into. Keep their ears covered (try and fold them down so when you put it on their ears aren’t inside out) and keep it on their head just like in the pictures here. It made our dog look hilarious but more importantly, it helped calm her and stayed on her head/ears. She would still follow us around and be right next to us the entire time there was a storm or fireworks but she wasn’t actively freaking out. We know this because for her, when she is upset, she will pant heavily and shake. When this was on her the panting stopped and she shook a lot less. So, having said all that, I don’t think it is perfect but I do think it is a useful (and funny) tool to help get your cat (or in my case, small dog) to calm down.

If using for an ear hematoma, do not buy the knit looking one. The material is way too stretchy!
I bought the knit one (not knowing there was a difference in the fabrics) to help my dogs ear hematoma but the material was so stretchy that the only time it fit was right when it came out of the dryer. Every other time I put it on her, it was so loose she was able to shake it off. It might be good for anxiety but it was not sufficient for my needs. I ended up buying the non textured one and it is amazing so far! There’s not that much stretch so if your dog is towards the end of the measurements definitely size up. For instance, I got the medium and my dogs measurement is 17.7. Any bigger and I would have sized up. She hasn’t been able to shake this one off and I don’t see her being able to. The 3 star is the median between the 2 different wraps. I would have given the knit wrap a 1 and the non textured wrap a 5!

Works
These work well enough! They are small so they fit my cats head pretty well without falling off super easy. I will buy again.

Don’t waste the money
I bought this after surgery for a dog and it did not stay on at all. Just ended up around her neck or off completely.

Nice and soft, but dog can remove easily
These are inexpensive and nice and soft. We have a 65 pound dog and they fit well like a buff for a human. The downside is there is nothing to stop your dog from removing them. I believe if hole slits were made to have the ears fit through then these might work well — the ear slits would help resist the dog rubbing them of their head — as they are once I put them on the dog — within a short period of time I find it on the floor — I give it a 4 because it was advertised to help prevent dog ear hematoma but they won’t work if they aren’t on the dog.

Keep your cat calm and comfy with this ear wraps!
I bought the 2 Pack Cat No Flap Ear Wrap for my anxious cat, the ear wrap keeps his ears safe. The Blue+Grey color is adorable, and it fits perfectly. Highly recommend for any cat parent dealing with bath anxious cats!

Tough to keep on
Our dog, Abby, has an ear hemotoma (sp) and we looked at these wraps (I like to call them snoods) for her to keep our other dog from licking her ears, and keep her from shaking her ears/scratching her ears. She looked so cute with it on. But she (and our other dog) easily pulled it down (and off), rendering it ineffective unless we followed her around and continuously adjusted it. I could see this maybe working better on another breed (Abby is a pit/something mix).

My cat hates it but it works great!

I took a small for my 8kg cat. I don’t know if it’s good or too tight for him.
