Why need wood perch and platform?
Throughout a parrot’s life, the beak and nails are constantly growing and they must often chew on wood or other hard objects to inhibit their growth. This explains why parrots are so destructive.
However, if our domestic parrots are not provided with adequate chewing toys and claw sharpening sticks, their beaks and nails will become longer, which will cause inconvenience to the parrots in terms of diet and movement, and even endanger their lives.
So, when your bird faces this situation, make sure to provide wooden chew toys or nuts, and claw sharpening sticks. Please do not trim your parrot’s beak and nails yourself! This is because they are rich in blood vessels, and if they are cut deep enough, they can cause bleeding that is difficult to stop.
Easy to Clean
You can wipe off the bird droppings with a paper towel, then used liquid soap to clean the surface of the perch and let it dry naturally. The hard coating on the surface will drop off slightly, which is normal. You can also use a small wire brush, a toothbrush or an old sponge to scrape off the birds droppings everyday.
Keep Birds Nails Neat
The rough texture of perches and platform help keep their nails filed, and they would love to use them to chew and trim their beaks. This set helps you save money for extra nail cut cost at vet. My cockatiel loves it
It’s a solid wood piece, with the rough texture on both sides. My bird loves to chew the sides, and grind his beak on it. I have a fruit mineral block nearby, he likes to sit on the perch itself to take a nap or chew his treat. As soon as i put the new one in his cage, he went right to it and started biting it and grinding his beak on it. A must for a cockatiel owner!

I bought these to use for my young rats to help keep their claws down. For that purpose, they do work well. If you’re buying them for rodents, they are smaller than I thought so I imagine they might grow out of them quickly. Would be good for young rats but adults rats probably won’t fit.For use with rats they are difficult to clean since they are wood and sandpaper but at this price, you can just buy new ones every few months.One of the ledges arrived with the pegs falling out so couldn’t be attached to the wall. Instead of shipping them all back, the seller offered a partial refund.All in all not horrible for the rats.

poorly made
The paint or sandpaper that was applied to the wood was very goopy and felt cheap, the wood came broken and the screw came off one of the sticks. Its possible I got a bad batch however it is up to you if you want to take the chance on this product.

Ehh … small and not that great… it’s all painted wood and my parrot just tore it all up.. lasted only a couple weeks… all gone… not worth the buy

Really difficult to clean
The gritty material that it’s covered in makes it hard to clean. I’ve scrubbed them but it doesn’t really do anything, everything just stays on. They work great for filing rat nails down, though. Wouldn’t recommend it for any animals that are… messy with their excrement…
