Connectivity issues aside these are amazing
When I bought these two years ago, they had terrible connectivity issues. I have them hard-wired, and they still would regularly drop connectivity. I had opened support tickets with Devialet, and they could not resolve the issues. I purchased a multi-plug power adapter that can be rebooted over the internet called “5Gstore App-Controled Remote Power IP Switch – 2 Outlets” on Amazon. This power adapter lets me reboot the speakers from the comfort of my couch, and upon reboot, the speakers work great, at least for enough time that I can usually get through a movie with the family. In the last year, the speakers have been working much more reliably. I went from several reboots a week to one every two months. I can confidently give them five stars now. They are phenomenal-looking and sound even better.

Incredible Sound- unbelievable customer service
Great sound and really quite incredible for its size. I have a high end main system of Martin Logan, Pass Labs etc and an audiophile for 40 years and frankly was dubious considering the size of this but pleasantly surprised. Initial set up was very simple and was up and running within 5 minutes. Incredible build quality.Definitely let it break in at least with 10 hours of music before you seriously audition as it was pretty flat upon initial startup, but as we listened you could hear the bass calm down, treble less brittle and open up.So cool looking and definitely a conversation starter.Purchased as a mobile unit to use in my home gym, at bbq area in yard and more so weight was a consideration in not going for the larger units.On the negative side.Can’t connect 2 Bluetooth devices at same timeWhen you lose connectivity with Bluetooth, you have to manually reconnect each timeNo remoteHopefully some of the negative issues will be addressed with firmware updates in future. Considering it was just released hopeful on that front.Update Jan. 6Does not stay connected to WiFi or Bluetooth. If I use device and don’t use for a few hours, app does not find device again and need to either unplug or start fresh as new device every day.Update Jan. 8Ended up sending it back. Literally had to unplug or set up as new every morning. This morning I went through the whole process from bed and was listening to Lady Gaga a foot from reactor with Bluetooth and WiFi enabled and it completely stopped working. Should point out that I have a Tri-Band router with 1000Mbps speed in the house and using an Apple XSMax so no excuse for these issues.Update: Jan.11-2019Purchased a Martin logan Crescendo X and when played next to Reactor sounded defective. Made me really appreciate the sound of this little guy. I would ask the gentleman who says there are other devices out there better at this price point or lower to let me know what they are? I have tried the Naim MUSO, Martin Logan, Audio Engine and more and nothing comes close. More important for me was I bought this to move from bedroom nightstand to outdoor patio and the form factor is second to none. So easy to move around.So things brings me to second part of this. I reached out to Devialet in France and the have been incredible to deal with. While time zone differences some times make for a day delay between emails, they have been all over this. They have escalated all the way to top brass and engineering, had multiple calls with me but have not been able to duplicate the problem there.Guess is I might just have a bad unit. There incredible support as well as sound and form will absolutely prompt me to get another.I have raised the stars back to 4 because of this but will update as things progress.Manufacturer was incredible to deal with. They were horrified about my issue and sent me another unit straight from France under loan to make sure they sorted out the connectivity issues. New unit worked flawlessly. I will say Amazon’s packaging was very sub par compared to what I got from Devialet themselves. Amazon put the main box inside another box twice the size it should have been with a couple pieces of paper allowing unit to flop around during shipping. Unit from Devialet was double boxed with inner box encased with soft styrofoam. Bullet proof.My recommendation at this point is to buy straight from Devialet.

100% broke in 3 mo, Devialet “cannot help” & sound like louder Bluetooth speakers, worth about $300
I bought these based on the specifications since there was nowhere to hear them and spent a lot on cabling and special mounting equipment. I needed a small and attractive speaker with high-end sound to go into an existing system.1. They sound better than any other BT speaker but they do sound like a BT speaker… When you play them next to any good system they will sound muddy, unclear, and cheap. They are powerful and have bass for days, but they do not represent this evenly down to the frequency range they state. A cheap sub of any size or type will sound better if you have the space. I did not, which is why I bought these.2. As everyone says the app is 100% trash, the delay makes it impossible to watch a video or sync any other speakers. Unless you are only going to listen to music, don’t mind the buffer time, and will not combine these w/any other speakers I guess they might work until they break (see point 3)3. One speaker went dead after 3 months, and would not even fully boot up, and when it did the software was glitchy and would act right for about 10 seconds before doing something buggy again. I was finally left w/$2000 paperweights so I processed the return after the period had expired but before it was impossible.DO NOT BUY THESE SPEAKERS – They are a great concept behind a cheap DAC, w/software that could have been improved by any sophomore. They are worth about $300 if they work, based on other things in the market. $1000 speakers should sound great, and these are just good… if and when you can get them to work, and if you do not want to listen to anything else w/them.
