Magic critter coffee
This miniature is not for beginners or a quick project. The pieces are very small and there is almost zero instructions. With that said, I had a fun time putting it together and then adding my own twist. There was a lot of brown so I decided to make a fall scenery and add plants. You’ll need several glues: fabric, elmer (the sticks worked great),super. Two types of tweezers: a curved tip and regular. Also, I have a product that creases papers into cards, it works great to get a nice bend for the paper boxes, books etc. Cute product!

Lots of gluing!
So make sure to have all kinds of glue for this little kit. I used 5 different types of glue, including a spray adhesive for the large paper cutouts that go directly onto the wood pieces . So much cutting, and you will also need a pair of scissors that can do very fine and detailed cuts. Some of the cutting and pasting of flowers, leaves and other bits took up to an hour per page. Lots of time and detail.Even with all that being said, I was having a lot of fun putting all the little pieces together, until I got to the clear canopy. It was difficult to get the tabs to pop through, and by the time I was done, it was bent and creased and had fingerprints all over it. It also did not fit the top properly and I couldn’t get it to sit correctly. So I decided to cut the panels apart and glue them down. Didn’t go well; it looked awful. So I took them off and had an open air top. Not ideal.I was still a bit aggravated from the canopy ordeal, but moving on I did the lights. There is no way to test them beforehand because everything has to be connected by the user. I very carefully wired them up, all to be disappointed because they didn’t work. At all. There’s not much room for mistakes here- it is pretty straightforward so i am unsure why they aren’t working. That was the straw that broke this camel’s back. I don’t typically leave something that is this close to being finished, but I am shelving this project for now.Edited to add: I was able to salvage the lights, it was the switch. I used a different switch from another kit, which presented a problem in itself. The switch is set up to be flipped on and off under one of the windows, and the switch I used was one piece. So now I have to fish for the box underneath anytime I want to turn the lights on. It is super cute finished. I didn’t mind cutting and pasting all the little pieces (I actually enjoyed that) but the combination of the lights not working, ill-fitting parts, and the canopy not fitting bother me.

Gorgeous! A lot of fun to assemble!
This miniature kit is really stunning when completed. I love all of the little details and textiles that really add a lot of dimension. I also enjoy anytime a kit like this has a lot of opportunity for customization. However, this kit is time consuming and very demanding with all of the intricacies. There is A LOT of gluing, so make sure you have at least a few types of adhesive available to cover all of the different needs (I used superglue, B6000, and Elmer’s glue stick)…also make sure you have a good pair of tweezers for some of the tiny pieces.Meanwhile, I didn’t have any problems with pieces breaking, which is always a relief, and all of the pieces/elements are well made. The instructions are great and easy to follow, though I don’t think this is at all beginner friendly. I recommend this more for people who consider themselves at minimum intermediate. Regardless, it is definitely doable at any skill level…just requires patience.A lot of fun to assemble and definitely recommended!

Lots of parts, takes awhile to build
This model kit includes everything, except tools, tape, glue (and some hot glue) and a little scrap paper/cotton balls/filler. Markers and paint really help also to touch up various areas. This isn’t really a kit to rush through, but one that you can spend time enjoying building it – the more time and effort you put in, the better results you get at the end of putting it together.I would say that this is really geared towards adults or teens+ that enjoy model kits. The instructions are fantastic – showing step-by-step how to build each piece and part, where glue goes, etc. While they do indicate to use superglue, I found that also using normal white glue, gluestick and also rubber cement can really help get things together nicely. There are many parts where the graphics are cut out of the paper and glued onto the wooden surfaces.Pieces pop out nicely, but I used a nail file and a razor blade to really clean up edges to remove any notches. Most of the plants and flowers are plastic so taking a hair dryer to warm them up helped to get them into the shapes I wanted.Overall this is a really fun greenhouse to build that you can spend a lot of time on.One thing that was not ideal, is one of the larger graphics that you glue onto the wooden background has a fold in it to fit it into the box. And that crease could be seen unless you put some mini plants or something to cover it up. I ended up using a thicker brown paper bag on top, and an iron on low heat and misted the paper to remove that crease as much as possible. That worked well along with a little green and black marker. If you have a bit of time and patience and miniature building is something you are interested in, this is certainly a fun kit that has a load of parts and pieces.
