, Irish Handmade Creamer and Sugar Set
This set is part of the Hampton Blue Range made by Castle Arch pottery in Kilkenny. Sugar bowl is 4” in height and creamer is 4” in height and holds 10oz. The products are high-temperature glaze finished which gives a deep shine and robust qualities. The color of the set is blue tones with cream mix throughout.
A native of Cork, Ray Power set up Castle Arch Pottery in the Autumn of 1993 in Kilkenny’s famous Castle Yard, which sits under the gaze of Kilkenny Castle. Each piece is made in small production batches on the potter’s wheel, allowing great attention to be paid to decorative details such as handles, sprigs and to the fluent slip-trailed decoration with embossed surfaces. The penultimate stage sees each piece bisque fired to 1000cc before the final glazing and firing again to 1200cc. This guarantees the pottery will be both microwave and dishwasher safe. This traditional approach, typical of Irish country potteries, ensures that Castle Arch Pottery maintains its unique character. The glazes used are both luscious and eye catching which have been developed over the past 15 years.

Pretty but Lacking
I liked the mixed blue coloring in this ceramic sugar & creamer, however, find it a bit light weighted. Adding sugar and milk to them should result in good weight. Size was good. Also, the packaging/wrapped plastic wrap that they came in, although safe, so no breakage, was smelly and not in any kind of a box, so gifting would have been out of the question. I’ve decided to keep it as an expensive gift to myself because I have a set of hand-made ceramic mugs that go well with the sugar and creamer. Overall, a nice set, but pricy for what you get and no box included.

I have several pieces of pottery in this line. I love that each piece is handmade. They look fragile but I have found them to be quite durable. For me, it’s been money well spent.

Showed up Broken
I just moved out of state and have no dishes The size is very small and it showed up broken. Amazin did refund me the money but I’m skeptical and very leary of ordering anything again that can break. Best to just buy things in person. Tired of waiting a week only to have it broken and be back at square one. Pretty dissapointed.
