We state “infinity focus allowed” because our adapters are designed to be universal which can prevent some lenses from focusing to infinity at the infinity mark. Set your camera to “Manual’ or ‘Aperture Priority’ for metering. If camera does not release be sure to enable ‘shoot without lens’ in camera settings.

It’s a reverse ring, not much to review. It works as expected!
It’s metal. It’s threaded. It does what its supposed to do!

Excellent adapter for a hard to find matchup
I found this adapter after scouring the internet trying to find and adapter that could bring my FD Lens to my Nikon F mount body. The only ones I was able to find at thw time were sitting around $100 amd I am not about to spend that much on an adapter. Enter this adapter. The price while not as cheap as several dummy adapters ( which i chock up to needing to include glass in this matchup while other ones are jsut the metal ring) was significantly lower than other one I found and it was from a brand I had bought for with some success.I recieved it a day eairler than had anticipated and tried it out right away. It worked beautifully in the adaptation. The lens mout was a bit snug but it had also been cold out that day and that might have played a part. One thing to note and this is true for other FD lens mount adapters I have bought but you need to attach the adapter to the body before you attach the lens to it otherwise the lens doesn’t latch on right and will sit crooked.Overall a great adapter for a great price for this matchup and I can’t recommend enough.

You will also probably have to bring your subject into focus by manually moving it towards/away from the camera – or as I found
A simple, no nonsense reversing ring that does the job admirably – this design has been around ‘forever’ and long predates digital photography. You won’t get auto-focus or auto-exposure with this ring and you won’t even get aperture control for your Nikon DX lenses. But once you understand that this is a simple, all-manual adapter, it provides a lot more utility than the price would suggest.Long exposure times are the norm, as your lenses will probably default to fully stopped down to minimum aperture. Depth of field is also minimal (normally in fractions of a millimeter) which is to be expected with a lens working in ‘reversed’ mode. You will also probably have to bring your subject into focus by manually moving it towards/away from the camera – or as I found more useful – putting the camera on a table top tripod and sliding it towards/away from the subject.A little fiddly to work with when mounting the lens on the camera (hint – screw the ring onto the lens first, then attach to the camera, to remove I suggest unscrewing the lens from the mount first THEN removing the ring from the camera body). In the end though the creative possibilities of macro photography are endless and well worth the price of this well made unit.

Perfectly Fine on the Lens I Bought it For, but Definitely Has Issues
Rating would really be more like 3 stars in general, but it’s 4 stars considering what I bought this adapter for. As some reviews have noted, make sure your Leica lens is the six-screw variety. I bought this for an Elmarit 90mm f/2.8 (3 cam), which is six screw. It’s very easy to install, and you can easily revert back to the Leica R mount (provided you keep the mount and cams that you have to remove). BE CAREFUL NOT TO LOSE THE LITTLE BALL BEARING WHEN REMOVING THE LEICA MOUNT. (if you go to Leitax’s page, you can find instructions for pretty much all compatible R lens – these instructions work fine for this adapter too). However, the adapter does not allow the lens to focus to infinity. **EDIT: Just read Fotodiox’s website about this adapter. It says “infinity focus OR BEYOND guaranteed”. So maybe the lens can focus to infinity, but it won’t be the infinity stop as indicated on the lens focus ring. Will need to do some more tests to confirm. Either way, not a huge fan of that, because I like my hard infinity stops***Lack of infinity focus is easily overlooked for my purposes in this specific case, because I’m not sure I have ever or would ever use a 90mm lens at infinity focus. This is a portrait lens for me, and for that, this works perfectly fine. But, in the future when adapting my 35mm or 50mm lenses, I’ll be going to Leitax for their adapters (which are about $68-$73 USD plus shipping from Europe, so definitely pricier) – they also have adapters for Olympus OM and Zeiss C/Y which I look forward to using. They may be pricier, but they are much more well-made (for about $100 USD you can get a Leica R adapter from them that doesn’t require stop-down metering, as well as some other options such as adapters for the 10 screw hole lenses). However, for my Elmarit 90, the Fotodiox adapter does it’s job. It’s not poorly made in any obvious sense, it certainly works (as long as you don’t need to focus to infinity). For a long prime lens that I use for portraits, it’s perfectly acceptable. But I doubt I’ll be using it again on any of my other R lenses.

Tamron 500mm f8 reflex lens -to- Nikon F mount = Perfect
I purchased an old Tamron 500mm f8 reflex (mirror) lens, it came with non-nikon f mount adapter. This fotodiox adapter fit perfectly, well made, and looks great. Every fotodiox product that I have ever purchased has been top quality.
