I wanted to give this a try due to the struggle of my dogs not liking teeth brushing. I do still brush their teeth. 1 dog doesn’t enjoy it but will let me do it, and my youngest dog will let you do his front teeth but will try and run away, so it is like wrestling a toddler. When I went to use this for my dogs, I noticed it did not come with a scoop, so I do not know exactly the amount needed, so I am very frugal with using the powder. My dogs do not like the smell of it, so I use it with their soft food to hide it. I noticed their breath smells better after a couple of weeks of using it. I still brush their teeth a couple of times a week in conjunction with using this powder.

Helps with doggie halitosis and dental hygene
We have 2 dogs, one of which does not mind having her teeth either brushed or wiped down with a dental wipe whereas the other dog wants nothing to do with a brush or dental wipe. I got this power with the hope that the second dog will be good with it and she is. I’ve been using a sprinkle of this power on her food daily for about 8-9 days now and we are starting to notice the difference. Her breath is not as bad as it used to be and there seems to be less tarter build up around her teeth, especially the back teeth. This teeth cleaning power is much less expensive than having the vet put her to sleep and do doggie dentistry on her (did that once already and it was very costly). This power is less expensive and much less invasive. The true test will be finding out what the vet says when we take the two of them in for their next checkup. Hopefully they both will get a clean bill of health and positive dental reports.

Not even close to brushing your dog’s teeth.
It’s difficult to say how effective or not this teeth cleaning powder really is. We usually brush our dog’s teeth every night. We saw this powder and decided to do a two week test. No actual tooth brushing, but use this powder on her meals. Even after one week, her breath was pretty bad. Meaning the PH in her mouth was off and this powder doesn’t really do what it says it will do. It may keep you from having to brush your dog’s teeth as often, but it is definitely not a replacement for it.

Smells nice and the dogs like it
I’m not sure about the ingredients since there is green tea and catechins but it smells nice and the dogs enjoy the additive to their food. I’ve been using this for 1.5 months and I see some mild improvement in the breath of one of my dogs. It may be too early to determine if this gets rid of or slows the development of tartar in place of brushing.

Update: exactly 1 week since we started using this, my husband reported her teeth and breath really ARE better, right when it says they should get better. How cool is that?? Guess we’ll be repeat customers!I don’t know what we were doing wrong, but our senior puppy had a breath that could knock out an elephant. We’ve been brushing her teeth and giving her expensive Greenies every day for 16 years, which apparently didn’t help. The real test of this powder is when my husband gives her her medications with a pill gun. He has to separate her jaws by hand, so he’s all too familiar with the state of her mouth. He’s reporting that the smell left on his hand is no longer absolutely revolting. Not bad for only 5 days of the powder? She doesn’t mind eating it on her kibbles either. 5 stars for now.

I’ve been giving my 3 dogs pet dental powders for some time now. I love the convenience of this method of pet dental care and I’ve had noticeable results. I am a believer of less is more, however, and this Ruidehut Natural Dog Tooth Powder has more ingredients than I like to see. That said, with the exception of the Perilla Seed Extract, none are controversial. Therefore, I do give my dogs a smaller than recommended dosage, just to be on the safe side. I recommend mixing the powder into wet food or moistened kibble. My dogs don’t even notice it mixed into their food.
