I had been using a weighted desktop mic stand for quite some time, it worked well but was limited in overall flexibility. Since I do live Djing on my radio station, voiceovers and record my own music tracks. I needed a well built boom mic arm that could handle the weight of my SM7B (and other similar mics), with the flexibility of being able to put the mic exactly where you need it.I saw the video for the iXtech boom mic arm and thought I would give it a try. Let me say that I was very pleasantly surprised at how well this boom mic arm actually performs. Especially given other similar boom mic arms that are almost double in price. The steel construction and sleek design of this boom mic arm are points well worth mentioning. The product does not feel cheap or unstable and actually performs as advertised.The “cutaway” within the boom arm for the XLR cable to integrate adds a nice touch for appearance and functionality. And the steel constructed table base clamp does an excellent job in supporting the weight of the boom arm and mic itself. The 360 degree turning radius of the boom arm operates as smooth as silk. And the “joint tensioners” allow you to adjust exactly how much stiffness or flexibility you want within the boom arm. Assembly of the product was surprisingly very simple, and most importantly the boom arm works as advertised.My only complaint is that when the product arrived one end of the box had already been opened. I almost started to send it back, but after checking to see if all the contents were inside the box (which they were) I decided to keep it. Other than that this was a great purchase and I would highly recommend the product.

High Quality, Just Depends on Mic Weight
I am switching from the Fifine mic/mic stand to my Blue Yeti I’ve had for a while but never had a decent stand for. I wanted to invest a bit more in my stand, but also didn’t want to spend a ton of money.This mic arm is absolutely amazing and the material feels nice and sturdy. The clamp is like a tank if you decide to use it and I’m so happy with it! It does not move a centimeter when I tried to physically jostle the clamp around compared to my Fifine one.The only thing which originally made me want to rate it 4 stars is that it HIGHLY depends on your mic’s weight. The Shure SM7B I originally got it for was perfect for it, but my Blue Yeti was too light at the original tension that the arm flew back to a vertical line. After adjusting the tension of every part to the max I could turn it, my Blue Yeti is perfect with it which made me rate 5 stars. I would recommend anyone with a mic lighter than the Blue Yeti to be aware that your mic might not work with this beauty. It is definetly an issue when it comes to the ratings, but I assure you that if you buy this with a heavier mic this is godsend!

85% as nice as the Blue Compass
I have a Blue Compass holding a Yeti mic. I wanted to duplicate the setup for a few bucks less and the reviews on the iXtech indicate it’s basically identical. It’s not. While this mic holder is good, it’s not great.When compared side by side with the Blue Compass this model is just not as nice. The friction hold is not as smooth and it releases with stiction. The springs feel less damped. The friction knobs are a little rougher to handle. The cable clips are not as low profile, the plastic molding is not as nicely lined up with the aluminum arm extrusion, edges are a little rougher in fit and finish. It also happens to be slightly smaller than a Compass, so when paired up they’re awkwardly scaled.On the other hand what you read is true: it looks nice, it holds well, it really does the job just dandy, and it’s a few bucks cheaper than the original it’s clearly inspired by. It’s just a B+ version. Good enough.If you’re in a set-and-forget setup it’s going to be great. If you are a person who likes to fuss with position and constantly adjust the placement of your arm then the Blue is a much better choice for a little more money: the Compass is clearly superior in its dynamic mechanics and its physical handling.Since I like to constantly tweak my articulation I’ll be sending this one back and ordering another Blue Compass, for me it’s worth the additional fee. But for many people this will be more than sufficient.

Adjustable and strong
Really happy with the boom arm, does well to hold my mic and I love that I can move it around in so many different ways to suit how I want it. Moving it around so much causes it to loosen a bit however, but it’s an easy fix with just having to tighten it back up. The assembly was very easy, and I love the fact that it has clips to hold the wiring for the mic.

Cannot Complete Installation
EDIT: User error. I was attempting to install the wrong end into the base….moving too fast and not paying attention to detail. Again, this really is a great device, especially with the on the fly adjustments to the placement of the mic.I am unable to complete the installation of this product as the screw that mounts the boom to the base does not fit in the base. I have attempted to install it separately from the boom and with it attached to the boom, but it does not fit. The quality is seems to be good and there are many options for adjusting tension in different places, but this device is now useless to me. In my experience, this was a waste of money.

I look at all the boom arms, and there are so many and this was half the price of the Gator Frameworks which I had my eye on. This looks great, works great, I am very happy with it. The tension controls are excellent too, and the vieo description on the page really helped my purchase decision.

C’est un très bon pieds pour les micros qui sont léger et il est tout en metal donc très solide cependant pour les micro qui sont lourd (blue yéti ou Samson g track pro +1kg) il ne sera pas dutout efficace

Il materiale del braccio sembra apparentemente buono e resistente, come anche la base, MA utilizzando un Rode NT1 con ragno e pop-filter, purtroppo il braccio fa molta fatica a mantenere il peso del microfono, pur avendo stretto al massimo della forza tutte le viti a disposizione nelle 3 giunture del braccio.Inoltre i fermini posti lungo le due braccia per tenere il cavo in posizione sono molto fragili e si aprono di continuo, praticamente inutili.Purtroppo non vale i soldi spesi, ho chiesto il reso del prodotto.

Ana şey, yüksek nitelikli olan metal kısmın çok güçlü olmasıdır. Gerginliğini alt tarafındaki vidayı çevirerek kolaylıkla ayarlayabiliyorum. Benim için en büyük özelliklerden biri, masamda ihtiyacım olduğunda mikrofonumu istediğim yöne rahatlıkla çevirebiliyor olmam. Ben tavsiye ederim.
