For this price is actually a great mic ð¤
Itâs a great mic if youâre starting a podcast, streaming, or YouTube, etc., or for zoom meetings, itâs great. Good price for this mic, I saw one in Walmart and I was like: what? So cheap? Then I was checking more options here on Amazon and finally I decided to buy the Joan epic, and so far itâs a great choice.

Epic indeed. Very impressive mic with an impressive price – my new permanent mic
There is a LOT to like about this mic. There are several nice features, and an attractive fade colorful LED on the front panel as well.In the video I tested this mic (JLab Epic Talk), my previous favorite the JLab Go Talk, and a Logitech webcam. You can hear the quality of each. The test was performed with 4 Harvard Sentences. These sentences were produced in the midst of World War II to enable more clear, effective, and efficient military correspondence. The research lab where the sentences came to life was located in a boiler room turned secret testing room. For the most part, the phrases attempt to examine whether or not language was comprehensible during interactions.About the mic:For starters, the front knob allows you to adjust the sensitivity of the mic, and it also changes the amount of light on the ring so you can see the value of the current volume. Someone say’s you’re too low? Turn the knob a little. At the high end, the boost is a bit much and it will pick up room noise like the AC or a fan.It has 4 settings for incredible flexibility.Cardioid – this is the most useful setting for most of us. It blocks out everything EXCEPT audio directly in front of it. It does a great job of excluding AC or other noise in the room.Omni-directionalFront/Back (Great for a conversation across a table)Left/Right (Stereo)It is connected to the PC with USBC and also has a 3.5mm jack for headphones. Unlike the JLab Go Talk, the stand is easy to assemble. This is highly recommended if you do any type of podcasting or zoom calls AND can afford it. I’ve tested a lot of computer mics, and this is one incredible. BUT – if you need a more affordable option, check out the JBL Quantum Stream. I tested them back to back, and the JBL doesn’t have all the bells and whistles (only Cardioid and Omni for example) but the audio quality is absolutely on par with this mic, and is only about 1/3 the cost. This is my new permanent mic. I love it.

Best condenser mic yet
Pros, Likes, and Features*Has great sound pickup, picks up all noise even background noise well*Great mic for online voice chatting and streaming, sound quality is up there with other dynamic mics even, main difference is the sound pickup. This will pick up room sound better than a dynamic mic but dynamic mics with all these features would be much higher in price also.*Plug n play with a 5 foot cable, all the adjustments are right on the mic*Can be mounted to 1/4″ and 5/8″ microphone mounting armsCons, Dislikes*Picks up background noise really well, Condenser mics do but this a bit too much. Best to have a quieter environment with this one.*Price is kind of steep, but with LED’s and 4 audio settings this beats all other budget mics. The price isn’t so budget but with other mics to compare this to on a high end this is a cheaper option for the best sounding mics.I have had a lot of mics and this one is on par with the dynamic mics I have used too. Only issue is this is a condenser mic and with that you get a lot of pickup of noises from a room like fans, airflow, vibrations on the desk, keyboard and mouse button clicks and more. Even whispers can be picked up if near this mic. The different settings can help with that a bit and are better than most condenser mics on the market but you are paying for that as well here. This is a real solid well build mic with 4 options Cardioid, Omni, Stereo, and Bidirectional. Each setting has its plusses and minuses and a room and the furniture within can change how each setting works as well as how close or far you are to the mic and its pickup setting. This is a solid choice even for the price but if you’re not looking for quality in a condenser mic then this may not be the mic for you. This is one of the most solid condenser mics I have used and I give this a 5/5 for that.
