This is the perfect hay dispenser for our two rabbits. We have a smaller rabbit that was unable to reach the hay in our last hay dispenser. This is perfect because now he’s able to get his hay without trouble and his brother can easily get his food. As you can see in the video he’s a little crazy and sticks his whole head inside and he does dig out the hay from inside even though he’s able to get his hay normally from the sides. He’s just a little rebel. So far I’m pretty satisfied with the item. It fits perfectly in the cage(they are free to roam dw) and can now both happily access their food 🙂

While cute, not very efficient
There comes a point multiple times a day where I have to pull hay through the front opening of this feeder so my guinea pigs can successfully eat their hay. Otherwise, they can eat from the top but can only reach so far. I would NOT recommend this hay feeder if you have more than two guinea pigs. This would not work for a rabbit because of its small size and difficulty of use for the animal.

Can tip over if not secured to wall
I purchased this product for my two guinea pigs to use outside their habitat in their play area. Since the hay holder was used outside the habitat, I was looking for one that could stand on its own and not require attachment to a wall. This product does come with a single bolt and nut system that can attach to some enclosure walls, however not to my C&C habitat since the washer was smaller than the space between the grids on the wall.One of my pigs is quite large, and ate from the top of the feeder rack by propping his front paws up there, which would ultimately cause the feeder to fall over. This was worrisome because I didn’t want my little guy to get injured. The other piggy is small and would take hay from the mouth-like opening on the front. Eating from here caused my piggy to extend his head all the way into the structure, which would cause sneezing/coughing from all the hay dust. There was more hay spillage with this product than their usual trough-style hay dispenser. Ultimately, I stopped using it. Overall, it’s a well-build product that I’m sure has some applications, but it didn’t work for my purposes.

I’ve tried multiple approaches to feeding my bunny hay. He chewed clean through the canvas feeding bag, he won’t touch hay that is in a loose pile, and hates the wire hay box. He fights it more than he gets hay from it. This little wooden one seems to be what he wanted all along. I’m thinking about getting a second one.
