Wonderful pillow (non-inflatable, memory foam)
Can’t say enough about this pillow. It’s filled with little cubes of memory foam. They are about 1/2″ (13mm) cubes, small enough and soft enough that you don’t feel them. If you leave them all in, you will have a very firm memory foam pillow. In my bed at home, I sleep on my side with a memory foam “neck pillow” – the kind that is a little thicker on one side than the other. To get the same feel as that pillow, I removed about five big handfuls of the memory foam from the Klymit pillow. Once I had done this, it was virtually identical to my (much more expensive) neck pillow, and I was very happy. The inner pillow has a zipper to make removal of as much foam as you like a very simple process. You really can dial in the perfect feel for you very easily. Don’t underestimate the importance of this as you ponder pillows. Attached photo shows pillow after foam removal beside bag containing the memory foam that was taken out.The Klymit Drift is a great camping pillow – the cover is removable and washable, and you can keep the soft surface that you likely want to sleep on clean and protected by the shiny orange side until you’re actually ready to set it up/use it in your sleeping spot. That way it doesn’t get all dirty from bouncing around with other gear while you’re packing/unpacking/traveling. It might be on the heavy side for backpacking – mine weighs 1.0 lb (450 g) after foam removal. It’s worth it to me, and it’s fairly compressible.I recommend this pillow. Spend some time dialing in the firmness, and hang on to the foam for a bit in case you find yourself wanting to add some back.

Best of the best
I have tried multiple camping pillows (memory foam, inflatable and hybrid), and this is by far the best. I love the dual cover (waterproof for storage and jersey knit for use), and that it is removable and washable. The pillow itself is adjustable, with a zipper opening to add or remove memory foam to customize to your desired loft. I like a more supportive pillow (side sleeper), so I added some extra foam to mine, while the base amount was perfect for my husband. The pillow is small (we got the regular size, not the large one), but is large enough to be comfortable. It’s about the size of a lumbar support throw pillow. It does not pack down super small (this is not a backpacking pillow), but is way smaller than a regular bed pillow, and the provided Velcro strap lets you squish it down some. The first time we used this pillow camping, it rained badly all night and our tent was leaking. If it wasn’t for this pillow, I honestly wouldn’t have made it through the night. Just having a soft, comfortable place to lay my head made all the difference. I was writing this review in my head while water was dripping into our tent. And when we got home, I just unzipped the covers, threw them in the washing machine and set the pillows in the sun to air out. Worth every penny!

Nice pillow but not for backpacking
Got this pillow as a potential to bring along on a backpacking trip. The pillow was nice, fluffy, soft and can be a great camping pillow! But I gave it 4 stars because it’s weight does not make it a very reasonable pillow for backpacking when you’re trying to keep your pack light. I went with a thermarest pillow because of the difference in weight and packability.

Good pillows for camping
We took these pillows to a camping trip in Colorado and Utah and couldn’t be happier about them. We slept through the night like babies. No neck pain or discomfort of any kind. They are very comfortable and the size was ideal because they didn’t take up too much room.

Wrong size in description
Pillow is nice but would be nice if was the right size.I ordered the “large” as stated in the description of the product. The size that I received is regular. Unsatisfied with the deceptive product description.

Comfortable but not lightweight
I took this on a long distance thru-hike last month and was impressed by how comfortable it was. I purchased this after my inflatable pillow was no longer working for me (I found them to be very uncomfortable, especially in the morning my neck was sore and rigid). This pillow has memory foam pieces and makes for a much more comfortable sleep system. Easy to take cover off and toss in washer after camping trip. The only downside is that it’s heavier than most pillows, especially if you’re trying to keep the weight down in your hiking pack. It’s also fairly bulky, even with the strap. Just good to keep in mind if you have limited space in your pack. Otherwise I’m really glad I brought this with me.

Really comfy memory foam. Not a fan of inflatable camping/travel pillows so I opted for this one instead. Good size, not too big for travelling or backpacking but big enough to be comfortable. Also has a good thickness, I am picky with my pillows and don’t like thin pillows. This is thick and supportive, and the memory foam stays thick and doesn’t flatten. I bought this for an upcoming backpacking camping trip but I’ve actually been using it at home on the couch and as my pillow in bed because it’s so comfy. Rolls up pretty small. The interchangeable protective pillow case concept is clever and useful. I’m always skeptical when reading reviews, but I would very much recommend this pillow.

i own two air pillows, sea to summit, trekology and a chunky foam thermarest pillow. those will all sit in a storage closet. the Klymit is the only pillow i’ll use from here on. you won’t regret buying it.
