Very comfortable.
Good quality, thick, very comfortable. Has a slit for a ponytail which is super nice. Not tight around the lower face and neck, quite baggy. The nose slit is nice but still slightly hard to breathe but I imagine that happens with anything of this design until you get used to it. The coverage around the forehead and eyes was perfect.

Nice quality!
I bought this for an upcoming snowmobile trip to Yellowstone. It is nice quality and a nice finished material. I will use this as the first layer against my skin and a heavier fleece over that.

Not terrible, but not all that great, either.
I always keep a balaclava in my camping gear for sleeping on colder trips. At 6’2″ I don’t fit into mummy bags well, at least not without having it taut when laying on my back, which of course results in lost heat. Therefore, a balaclava gives me the ability to not use the sleeping bag’s hope. Anyway, my old Army surplus wool knit balaclava finally bit the dust. It was extremely warm and the stretch made it form so well around my cold dome and face at night.I was kinda hoping for something that might be a little lighter but still fit the same. This balaclava didn’t exactly “fit” the bill, though. I like the weight enough, but it feels a bit too light. As another reviewer mentioned, I think this would do better as a base layer with something else over it.The thing that really bothers me, though, is that doesn’t fit me that well. It’s baggy around my face, especially on my forehead. What’s more, the fit on my neck just feels awkward. It hangs up on the back of my neck and drapes around the front hanging off my chin. I was able to tuck my old balaclava into my shirt or jacket, and that’s just not going to happen with this one. I actually found it more comfortable to slightly roll up the back, as shown in one of the pics. I dunno, it just too big and doesn’t fit well. Definitely not how it’s shown in the manufacturers pics. What I do like is the slit under to nose, as it makes breathing easier. I also like how well it stays under my nose when pulled down slightly and even more so under my chin. In fact, it seems to fit better around my head when pulled under my chin.Overall, I went ahead and gave this 3/5 due to how comfortable, stretchy, and well-stitched the material is, but I was real close to 2 stars due to the overall fit. I’ll take it out on my next camping trip this winter and see how it does, but I think I’ll end up buying another surplus balaclava. Maybe it’s just what I’m used to, but I know I can do better than this one.

nose vent helps
I appreciate the nose vent, although fairly small, as it allows for easier breathing. I have several balaclavas as we wear these for work outside but also when exercising outside. This mask does a good job of blocking the cold winds. For me it was too open on my forehead so I wear a headband around over top to keep that skin from being exposed. The nose vent does help but in heavy breathing I needed to pull down the mask to expose the mouth, which was more difficult to do on this mask than others. The good part is it stays up well to cover your face and cheeks but it is tighter to pull down under your mouth when you want to.

.Gotta Keep Your Face Nice & Toasty!
For my wife, she needs to keep her head from freezing when we go to Yosemite in the winter.

Really like the nose vent
I really like the nose vent on this balaclava as the other I have don’t have a nose vent. Also, this is soft on the inside but the material on the outside is very smooth and likely is what makes is windproof. So overall, I like this balaclava much better than cheaper fleece ones with no nose vent and that are not windproof.

Warm mask!
This is a heavy duty ski mask. Soft inside and smooth on the outside. Should be super warm for my winter ski trip. Well made! I canât wait to use it this winter!
