A great digital mixer, with a lot of flexibility
For me this has been a great mixer. I primarily record multichannel podcasts via the USB ASIO interface, and having 16 channels that I can separately record is great. I also love that there is a separate gate, compressor and EQ for each channel as it gives me a lot of flexibility and replaces my old separate gate/comp boxes. The preamps are clean and have plenty of gain, and it has 16 XLR inputs, 6 Aux channels, 4 FX mixes, and of course main out.You do need to do the initial setup via wifi from a computer/iPad. I mainly run mine wired to my home router, and like that its accessible from any iPad, Android or computer in the house using the Mackie app. You can have up to 20 iPad/Android or computers tied wirelessly to it so that is fantastic as each person can control their mix. It works as its own wireless access point or you can configure it to connect to your existing home network. The Mackie software was not hard to learn. You need to spend a little bit of time watching some tutorials if you want to do advanced FX, but the basic mixes, aux mix and gates/comps can be learned very quickly. You do need to manage the session/snapshots a bit as they are stored on your computer/iPad and not on the mixer.I do a handful of live events each year, and again the wireless control is an amazing feature. You can walk around the room and adjust mics and speakers yourself. You can also adjust things during the event from anywhere instead of being tied to the audio table. My only advice would be to buy a cheap wifi router to plug it into if you do a lot of live events as the built in wifi seems to be low power/limited range (a problem with the competitor products as well). The main competitor for this would be the Behringer XR18, which is a little cheaper, but in short supply at the moment. While I’ve not run the Behringer, it has one more MIDI input, similar overall capabilities and seems to have the same type of built-in wifi issues. I could not find one in stock, and had used Mackie mixers in the past so I went with the Mackie and did not look back.Positive – 16 XLR inputs, 8 with 1/4″ plugs, 6 Aux out, 4 FX mixes, Main and headphone out – Separate digital EQ/Gate/Compressor on each input – Control it from up to 20 wireless iPad/Android/Computers with ability to lock-out features for band members so they can just adjust their own mix – 16 channel ASIO recording of each channel via USB – Mackie software was not hard to learn/use, and looks the same across iPad/Computer/Phone – Good quality Onyx preamps with enough gain for dynamic mics (near full gain) and 48V phantom available on all inputsNegative – Internal wifi has limited range – get a cheap router to plug into if doing live events – A bit more expensive than the Behringer XR18 (if you can find one)

Easy to install
The mixer was very easy to install. It worked great as a replacement for old equipment that had malfunctioned. I recommend using a computer rather than an iPad to download the drivers and updates.

Even better then my previous version
I purchased this to replace my DL808 mixer which I have been using for years without issue. I liked the stage box format which would simplify setup in my applications by removing the need for a snake completely. So far I have not been disappointed. It was simple to figure out as I was already familiar with the software but there are a ton of additional features that I will explore over time as well. Mackie quality like you would expect and so far no surprises.

internal Wifi fail after 3 month
overall it’s a great machine. it gives you wondrfull pro level sound with compration, EQ and 2 effects on every channel without the need for long cables.BUT, our unit’s iternal WiFi stopped working after 2 or 3 month of use… and that leaves you without any control at all on your mixer. not even gain or mute.it broke 30 minutes before a gig, and lackly for us we had an extrnal router at hand and it worked fine that way.that is a big problem. unlike an analog machine where a failure kills one of your channels here it basicly bricks your whole setup.

Another home run from Mackie!
Was looking to up my game when it comes to a digital/USB mixer with tablet or PC control. Mackie once again delivers a solid product. The mic pre’s are a noticeable improvement over my previous mixer. Also, the on-board WiFi access point is much better than my previous mixer (I was having to use an external WiFi travel router). Compact, and built like a tank, I’m sure I’ll get lots of great use out of it. The built-in onboard FX are top-notch to my ears. I just wish I had bought this sooner!

Phenomenal
This mixer is awesome. Composure control in every aspect. Easy to use great for recording. I love it. Best money I’ve spent on a mixer.

Solid design
Really a nice unit. My only complaint is when loading a show from a remote device, it will overwrite whats in the unit without asking. I loaded a show from my main computer. Then when the remote device sync’d, it overwrote the show I just loaded with an older version without asking. Other than that. The unit is awesome.

This is the most versatile mixer I have used. The Ipad app that controls it (Master Fader) is very powerful.I am sure this type of mixer will be taking over in the near future and you will see fewer desks full of buttons and sliders.
