    Excellent craft for kids
Making the lanterns was fun for my 7-year-old granddaughter and her cousin. The silicone mold worked well but there was only one, so only one lantern could be made at a time. The kids probably used a bit more material than they were supposed to, so it was enough only for 2 lanterns not 3. The lanterns are pretty and durable after baking the clay.

    Great project
I got for a fun project to do with my 6 year old grandson . He needed a little help with rolling out the clay but otherwise had a great time decorating and cutting out the shapes.Naturally I was the one to put it in the oven

    Excellent, more affordable option
Excellent, more affordable option to the expensive brand. Beautiful, bright and seems made well enough. The top arch is not quite long enough to reach over the rest but other than that I see no flaws. A cute addition to our new homeschool room and will be used for play breaks for my oldest and for our weather unit.

    Fun craft for kids
My 8 year old grandkids made these for their moms as Christmas presents and loved doing so. They needed help rolling out the clay and removing the inner tubing, but otherwise enjoyed doing the rest on their own. Wonderful project!

    Christmas gift
I bought this gift for a 6 years old little girl and within hours, all other gifts were ignored and this one took the prize. She had a great time with it and still uses it weeks later.

    Fun but with disappointing results
This was a really fun project for me and my 8 year old. He liked getting to pick commits, work with the clay, and get creative. However, both the candle holders we made cracked when we removed them from the mold after baking. His got a small crack, so I tried letting mine cool longer, and it got a HUGE split down the side. The mold sticks to the clay a bit, and the clay just does not seem to hold up well when you’re trying to separate them. If the cracks hadn’t happened, this would’ve been a five star project for us.

Got for St. Patty’s Day, But Kept out As Toy
We bought this as a toddler-safe St. Patrick’s Day decoration. It looked super cute with our black plastic kettle for a pot of gold. We also use the kettle as a witch’s cauldron at Halloween.Anyway, we love toys that can double as decorations since it means our little one can enjoy them as much as we can. This rainbow has been great for that. It would also be great for playing Noah’s ark with toy animals and a boat. The pieces are all nicely painted, and the paint has held up with lots of throwing around. We love trying to stack them on top of each other to make a tower. It’s actually pretty difficult, and our toddler loves knocking the towers down. She also sometimes pretends the smaller pieces are phones. They are great for teaching colors and size as well. We are loving this toy and can see her using it in many different play scenarios as she gets older. Plus we love that it will be extra cute around St. patty’s Day every year!

    Good family fun.
This was for a family gathering to keep a single 8 year old entertained. It ended up being fun for an 8 yo, 40 yo, and 80 yr. I would definitely buy again.

5 out of 5 Stars (5)⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐[TL;DR][QUALITY] (5/5)[VALUE] (5/5)[EASE OF USE] (5/5)[MET EXPECTATIONS] (5/5)[PACKAGING] (5/5)[REVIEW REMARKS]Although this kit is marketed for children, it really is suitable for any age group. With a complete project kit included, which includes a fine and wider brush, mixing palette, twelve (12) different colours, accent bling, and the cat shaped lamp. This is perfect for an afternoon creative project, and there is enough paint and supplies to get the lamp finished with extra paint to spare. The cat lamp is powered by button batteries and it emits a warm white colour. I would have preferred this to be rechargeable, or powered by a more readily available battery size. Changing the batteries will require another order for the proper sized button batteries. Also, it you are working on this with children, those batteries are a choking hazard for kids, and pets, alike. So, a rechargeable solution would have been preferred. The paint does need to be applied in a uniform way. I found that if the paint was applied too thick, the light did not show through as well. The body of the lamp is more opaque than translucent, meaning the light does not illuminate through the lamp, making the areas with a thicker layer of paint with not be as vibrant when viewing in the dark. All in all, this is are really cool gift idea for the cat lover in your life. They are able to decorate the cat any way they choose. I think this style of painted lamp project would be really suitable for older adults, and it would be an activity that can be completed by a family. The end result is as good as you make it. The small cat shaped lamp would be excellent as a night light, or a statuette in a washroom, or even a Livingroom. I would order this set again, perhaps in a different style, if available. I would order these as a gift, or as a project to be completed in a group. Very fun and a decent value for a customizable lamp.Recommended based on quality, completeness of the kit, age range, fun factor, and value. In the event that experiences change or evolve, updates may be made to this review to address such developments.

We recently got several “Paint Your Own Lamp” kits for the kids, including one cat lamp and another soccer ball lamp (from a different kit). The kids were excited to create their own lamps and had a lot of fun painting them, but the results were a bit underwhelming. The cat lamp kit includes the lamp, various paint colors, 2 brushes, and a tray. Unfortunately, our kit was missing the stickers, though the others we ordered had them. The cat lamp is small, lightweight, and safe for young kids with no sharp edges. It runs on three LR44 button batteries and emits a yellow light. The major issue is with the size discrepancy. The cat lamp is much smaller compared to the soccer ball lamp from the other kit, which was disappointing. Additionally, after painting, paint streaks are very noticeable when you turn on the light, and painted areas block some or most of the light depending on the amount of paint used.

The “make your own clay lanterns” is a smaller then expected kit but perfectly suitable for a patient child due to the fact that only one mould form is provided so only one lantern can be built at a time. The clay used here is Polymer Clay, a great product that I use regularly in craft works. It was a pleasure sharing some Tricks I’ve learnt over the years and my daughters have both made perfect lanterns. some of the tricks are below.#1 The mould form is made of silicon and is rather flimsy, so recommendation number one is to stuff the cavity making it less flexible but not to the point where it is bulging. Make sure you remove the stuffing before baking.#2 mould release, so important if you happen to have any otherwise use cornflower. It will help you to remove the mould form after baking.#3 Polymer clay when baked becomes plastic, leave it to cool down at room tempatuere until removing the mould. Not only will it be easier to remove but your lantern will be solid. Polymer clay although feels harder when you remove it from the oven its actually still soft on the inside that will harden as it cools.the rolling mate can be used to not only need the clay or rolling out the desired thickness but also to smoothen your lantern by simply rolling it back n forth on its sides squaring up the base. If the lip was to warp you can also sand it flat after it has cooled.Definitely go nuts with the design contrasting colours will stand out and its easy to get various designs by twisting folding and needing the clay together. I would say to need each colour beforehand, it helps to loosen the material and make it more pliable.Fun little kit, just small is all.
