Well-made feeder
This is a good feeder and should last for several years longer if you can keep it from getting wet all of the time. I have had an identical one to this in the past, and it was pretty varmint proof, so I would fill it to the top on the large hole side only with safflower seeds. I also like the lid on top because it has a button you have to push in to get the lid to slide up and down, so it is more secure. I tried nyjer on the small side, but the birds in my yard would not eat it fast enough, so it would get wet and then moldy. I have a lot of gold finches these days, so I think I will try nyjer again if it doesn’t still cost an arm and a leg like it did during Covid. The holes in the bottom tray are pretty small and get clogged pretty easily and then the food gets caked and hard to where you have to chip it out. If you can keep it from getting wet, that will help it last longer. My previous feeder eventually rusted and then the paint flaked off. I stopped using it because of that. I am going to try to put a cover over this one to keep it dry.

Yes! I just got this new bird feeder and the reason I got it is because it has two separate seed chambers. I have 25 feeders in my yard until tomorrow morning when this will be number 26. A dual chamber feeder is a great idea as I am running out of places to hang feeders. This is a heavy duty well-built and large bird feeder that has two separate seed chambers so I can essentially have two feeders hanging from one hook and when I take it down I can provide two types of seed in one shot. It has a heavy duty paint job on there that kind of seems like powder coating but I’m sure it isn’t. It has the little drain holes in the hopper but they never work if it rains hard enough or long enough. The lid lifts up and hangs off to the side for easy filling like most do. It has a vinyl coated cable with a loop for hanging like most do also. This should last many years if I don’t drop it or chip the paint without repairing it. I’m really happy with it and it is a top five bird feeder for me. I’m sure you will find it super simple to use and worth the price because of it s quality construction and you’re essentially getting two feeders in one. It’s that big. Near Seattle where I live there’s a lot of moisture in the air even if it’s not raining and to leave too much bird seed in a feeder for too long will cause it to mold. This feeder is big enough without being too big that seed goes to waste. I guess what I’m trying to say is that it’s about as big a bird feeder as I would want so the birds can eat the seed before it starts to mold. They might make a bigger feeder somewhere, but I don’t think I would want one in my climate.

Nice quality bird feeder but…
I received the feeder through the vine program in exchange for my honest review. I received the feeder very quickly in a box. Unfortunately the top locking part was not intact and it seems it missed the one side when it was crimped so the lid doesn’t lock in place. My husband is going to try to fix it but it’s tight and I’m not sure if he’ll be able to but we will see. It’s really unfortunate because it’s a really nice feeder with 2 mesh sizes, very solid build and it’s looks nice too. Bird feeders can be a bit pricey in my opinion and this one is competitively priced compared to similar ones. Unfortunately I have yet to get it out since the lid locking issue which was a huge disappointment so I may reach out to the seller to see if I can get a replacement and return the first one.

Great feeder!
This is a great feeder. Its good quality and easy to use and refill.Open the cap and load the bird seed in. Then hang it off of a tree or your own hanging solution. Once one bird sees it, it will signal the other birds. Soon you have a buffet for birds to enjoy, especially during the cold months when there is not much food.On occasion there will be a squirrel that will figure out a way up to it. But its ok I will get something else for the squirrels.I use a mix grain birdfeed that has small feed, as well as worms and larger sunflowers. They seem to love the large sunflowers – they all go for that first. So the other side i simply put just sunflowers.My grandmother loves bird watching and enjoying seeing the different kind of birds. This is the solution and gives everyone joy.The feeder itself is good quality and made of durable materials. Easy to use, 2 compartments and its really meant as a hanging feeder, however I’m sure you can use it as a table top, but you have to screw it down to hold it stable.The only downside is when it rains the water sits at the lip, i will come with a solution for that by drilling very small drain holes, smaller than the bird seed so water can drip down more easily.it’s a very good product highly recommended!

I really like this bird feeder!It is fairly large with the seed chamber being 4-3/4″ in diameter and 9″ tall. It holds a lot of bird seed!It is all-metal construction, and the metal is fairly heavy gauge. It appears that this feeder will be able to stand up to a lot of abuse from the frequent visits of the local squirrels and deer, and the occasional raccoon!There are 2 compartments that allow for using 2 different types of bird seed. One of the compartments has a finer mesh than the other; that side could be used as a finch feeder. The coarser side seems appropriate for a sunflower seed mix.The hanging cable is plastic coated. There is a push-button cable clamp that secures the lid in place to prevent other animals from feasting on the bird’s food.During a rain, there is no question that the seed will be wet through the holes in the mesh, but there are drain holes in the bottom plate to allow water to drip out and the seed dry. I still expect the holes will require occasional cleaning, but it seems a good design to mitigate soggy bird seed.Though more expensive than plastic bird feeder options, the high quality and long-lasting, robust construction make this a good value.
