First video game system for my son with Down syndrome & workout for me!
We absolutely love this thing! This is perfect for our son with Down syndrome, not only so he can play video games with his neurotypical friends but so he can be active at the same time!Unlike other motion based video game systems in the past, the Nex works perfectly! Thereâs no tricking it with hand motions only. You have to move your body to play the games or dance.Speaking of dance, their Starri game (their version of beat saber) is my new workout routine! They have a decent number of songs that come with the system. But if you get their subscription service, you can unlock all their songs. Starri even tells you how many calories you have burned each dance as well as in total for that session. I havenât exercised seriously for over 16 years, so this is perfect for someone getting back into the game and so much fun!!The system comes with 5 games: fruit ninja (my sonâs favorite game), a whack a mole game (1-2 players), a mini game version of Mario party (1-2 players), a soccer goal game and the Starri beat saber like game (1-2 players). The Starri game is definitely my favorite. Not only does it tell you how many calories you burn, you can see 3 different levels of difficulty so you will definitely get a good workout no matter what. I like the slash versus the touch version. The slash has you slash with an arrow for the direction you have to slash to as well as which hand (yellow for left and blue for right), touch when you see single lines/bars, lean to either avoid the X or to lean into the wide bars of various lengths and a crystal to slash both hands fast at the same time. Itâs very difficult for me at the starting level, so I know I will get a lot out of this game.My teenager has beat saber using their meta quest (previously known as oculus) system, but you have to wear a headset. We also have beat saber for the PlayStation. But you need to hold the light based receivers to play. And neither has the accuracy and fluidity of Starri. Plus, you just do your stuff with nothing to hold or wear, which you will appreciate since you will work up a good sweat using this (especially since you canât trick the system). The system itself is a small cube a bit larger than the size of a Rubix cube. Thereâs a magnetic cover to protect the lens. It comes with a power adapter and hdmi cord. All you have to do is plug it into an outlet and plug the hdmi into your tv, connect it to WiFi and then finish setup on your phone (there is no app) or tablet using the QR code on the tv. Very easy to setup and you will be playing with no time!We also got a carrying case and a silicone case for the Nex cube and remote. We plan on taking this to friends and family as well as on vacation, so the compact size is much appreciated. With everything inside the case, itâs smaller than most lunch boxes. So far as I can tell, the Nex mainly uses your upper body since none of the games we have played so far uses the legs or feet, which makes sense. The camera is very quick to adjust to where your body is, although you canât be too close to the camera or else it wonât detect your body. We havenât gotten the subscription yet but plan to. So I canât wait to see what else Nex has in store for us!

Great for elementary kids!
I waited a bit to write this because I think you really canât trust reviews if theyâre done the first day that someone uses the item. You want to make sure that the appeal lasts for a long time with kids, especially at this price point. My kids are three and six and I think itâs just about the perfect sweet spot for this game system. Adults can play it and itâs fun, but the kids are obsessed with it. They got it on Christmas and theyâre still having a blast with it three weeks later. I did buy the expanded library with all the games because it wasnât terribly expensive, and the girls are excited that a few other games might be added in the future. Party Fowl is our favorite, it has a ton of mini games with broad and silly appeal. The kids play so hard that they get sweaty, then later sleep really well.

It’s Family Fun Time!
I love this little game cube box! It’s shocking how easy it is to set up, and then the preinstalled games are fun enough. They have a yearly plan that allows you to open up all the games, and they keep coming up with additional ones now and then. It is so much fun that I even play with my 6-year-old granddaughter; her favorite is the dancing game. Heads up, it is a shoulder burner for sure. I am impressed that no equipment besides floor space and a well-lit area is needed. We are having so much fun with it, and even at times, you need to take a break and get a drink of water! Up to 6 people can play some games at a time. The only thing, if it is a thing, is that the camera is very touching, and if your turn is up and someone else is in the camera view, it thinks it is your move and may make you mess up a bit. Otherwise, this is a must-have if you are looking for some serious family fun and competition.

Super excited about this!
I purchased this system as a gift for my two-year-old and four-year-old children and decided to set it up beforehand to test how it functions. I was pleasantly surprised by how straightforward the setup process wasâitâs incredibly user-friendly, even for someone with little to no technical experience. Navigating the system and getting it ready to use was a breeze, which gave me confidence that it would work well for my young children. When testing the gameplay, I found the motion tracking to be highly accurate, consistently capturing my movements without any noticeable glitches. This was contrary to some reviews I had read, where users mentioned issues with tracking and occasional glitches. However, I carefully followed the detailed instructions provided, which included helpful tips such as avoiding wearing clothing that matches the background, limiting the number of people in the frame, and steering clear of heavily patterned clothing. These guidelines likely helped optimize the systemâs performance.Overall, Iâm thrilled to gift this to my children on Christmas morning. Itâs an intuitive and well-designed system that I believe even my two-year-old will be able to navigate and enjoy. The combination of ease of use and reliable performance has exceeded my expectations, and Iâm confident it will provide hours of fun for my little ones.
