Works great for me, but requires a hat that is slightly too big
Some reviewers have commented on the one-size not working for them. I wear L/XL hats so perhaps this isn’t for everyone. It does require modification for most hats. I have one that fit unmodified. I also have two that I modified with very good results and may order more. Just out of the box, these are big enough, but not shaped correctly to fit comfortably. For me, they were too oval (long front to back and narrow).I have one wide-brimmed, floppy hat that provides very good shade, but is too big. It always fell off or down over my eyes, and stayed terribly mis-shaped. I tucked the bump cap (with no trimming) in under the sweat band and now the hat fits perfectly. The hat makes the bump cap more circular and the bump cap keeps the hat in a nice shape.Next I tried a baseball hat and a floppy hat from REI with a neck shade. Both required trimming the bump caps to make them fit. I adjusted the hats to where they were slightly too big then trimmed the bump caps to fit. In both cases, I am very happy with the results. My theory is that since the circumference of the bump cap becomes smaller as you trim more off of the bottom, that you can get a good fit for a wide variety of head size and hat shapes, as long as the hat can be adjusted slightly too big without the bump cap. So obviously this will not work in a hat that fits you perfectly and isn’t adjustable.I am just saying it works very well for me, and I admit I am skeptical for anyone who wears S/XS.

Well made
I use this cap for Airsoft. It’s well made and it’s protected my head from bumping into obstacles.

too big for most any cap
After trimming off almost 3/4″, I finally got it into my biggest cap; which was kinda dorky for me to start with – but it does protect from bumps. The insert is rather flat on top and wide at the transition from side to top. My head is not flat on top, so it doesn’t fit very well. I had to do extra tightening of the cap adjustment to keep the cap from falling off easily. I tried heating the insert in hot water to re-form the almost flat top into a more curved top; but that didn’t chane the shape like it needs to be changed. I went back to wearing the one I made from one of those plastic license plates with the dealers name on it. It doesn’t provide as much protection; but it does keep me from skinning my head when working in attics.

Very Nice Product
I like this product due to not feeling akward when wearing at work. I got to where a bump cap while working on certain equipment at work. When i saw someone else wearing one similar I knew I had to have a cap like it. It is of very good quality and looks nice, not to mention doesn’t stick out like a regular hard hat. I would recommend this to other people that I work with and others who are looking for hiding the hard hat look.

Terrible
This bump cap would not even fit my 11 your old son’s head let alone mine I’d give it a zero star rating if it allowed me

It appears to be just a great looking cap unless you look under the hood.
I am in the HVAC industry and must climb through attics that have nails coming down from the roof every few inches. This cap has already helped when bumping my head on 2 by 4’s in the attic and it sits high enough on my head to offer some protection on job sites that do not require a hard hat.I have had nails hook my scalp and tear skin. I would much rather damage a hat then visit the emergency room. I wish that I knew these existed years ago. I now have coworkers asking where I found this cap.

Perfect for my heavy headlamp!
This all started w/a heavy/bright headlamp that was recently purchased and it hurt my forehead, tried wearing a sweat band for cushion, then the weight became a factor,so…I thought: a ‘bump hat” might cure that problem,it did all that, and I don’t have to fumble with anyhing, throw the bump hat on and instant light for my many tiny hobbies that require pinpoint lighting, paid $6 for this lid.Problem solved.

Excellent product, has non Velcro adjustable fibre strap. Ifs better as Velcros often give away with time. You ll find it very beneficial and helpful. The head protection fibre is strong and non flimsy. Pls go for it.

I am over 6ft tall & 76 yrs old. I am always banging my head when working in yard or simply getting and out of vehicle. Then some one told me about these caps/hats. What a God send. The one I wear around the yard & shop sometimes gets a bit grubby, hence a new hat for when I am not working. Get one, you’ll be glad you did.
