My wife and I love cooking. I’m more of a griller myself, but she enjoys all types of cooking. Typically, we use our kitchen knives to chop vegetables, fruit, or meat. I keep our kitchen knives very sharp so every now and then, accidents do occur and we both end up wearing bandaids before the night is over (ie. cutting ourselves while trying to finely chop onions or garlic.)So, after watching a few cooking shows and seeing chefs use this tool, we decided to give it a try and we couldn’t be happier with that decision.Pros:- It’s large enough for my hands yet not too large for my wife’s. I have rather large hands so it’s perfect for me. The wife has smaller hands so while it does exceed the size of her palm, it’s not excessively bulky.- It’s sharp but not so sharp that it would lay you open (like our kitchen knives.) The blade is plenty thick to sharpen more if desired but because of how this is designed, we haven’t seen the need (yet.)- It has an easy to grip rubber handle. Even when it gets a little wet it doesn’t slip.- It chops in an upright position so you can apply more pressure more easily. With our kitchen knives, a lot of chipping results in sore wrists. With this product, you can chop for hours and not have to worry about wrist pain.- It has a built in ruler. I’m not sure when we’ll ever use this feature, but it’s still cool to have.- The blade is nice and thick. You certainly don’t have to worry about this blade ever bending or breaking.- It holds up well in the dishwasher. Granted, we don’t place it on the bottom rack or use heated dry but normal washes don’t affect it’s integrity.- It doubles as a scraper. If you’re like me, you hate having to pick up small pieces of chopped food after you’re done slicing and you hate having to grab raw meat off of the chopping board when you’re done preparing. This chopper allows you to easily scrape the food off when you’re done.Cons:- (I honestly can’t think of any at this moment)Anytime we want to chop vegetables, fruits, or meats, we use this tool. We both highly recommend this product as personal use or as a gift.

The OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Scraper & Chopper is quite a workhorse. The no-slip grip handle is comfortable and necessary. The stainless steel blade is sturdy without being too sharp, so no worries about accidentally nicking your fingers. It breezes through soft stuff like dough, cheese, or pastry. It has a built-in measure marker. It runs along the base of the blade, allowing you to measure out perfect increments, from 1/4 inch right up to 6 3/4 inches.This little gadget’s been with me for over a decade. I still use it multiple times a week. I use it to cut bread dough and pastry, scrape the sticky dough off of my cutting board, transfer cut-up fruit to a bowl, as well as transfer diced and sliced veggies to the stove. I’m sure, there might be other brands out there with a tempting price tag, but I trust OXO products and their quality is hard to beat.

If you do a lot of chopping in your kitchen you need this. I used to try to pick up all the chopped pieces off of my cutting board by hand. Then I started using my chef’s knives to try to gather and pick up the pieces, dragging the blade across the cutting board, prematurely dulling my blade.Now I slide my OXO Stainless Steel Scraper/Chopper across my cutting board easily picking up all the pieces without dulling my knives.It’s a simple, well made tool that does the job quickly and cleanly. I’m glad I bought it and recommend you do too.

The best little tool in my kitchen
I have found this to be the best scraper that I have ever purchased. It is well made from stainless steel and multi-useful. I can lift the thinnest dough as well as separate dough. I can lift freshly baked cookies. I can mash garlic. Smash! Smash! Smash! I can transport chopped items from my cutting board with this bench scraper. This is a must have in anyone’s kitchen! It has a special place in my kitchen and it has become my best friend.

Esse definitivamente é um utensílio culinário que, normalmente, as pessoas não conhecem, mas que auxilia muito no dia a dia de qualquer um que cozinha. Além de ser possível utilizá-lo para cortar massas, para mim, ele serve principalmente como apoio para levar tudo picado até recipientes ou panelas. Ele é pequeno, tem marcações numéricas e apresenta a ótima qualidade da marca. Um bom investimento!
