I love this box. The sides make the box deeper than the crystal version. I can use clumping litter instead of crystals, which my cat loves. Because I use the clumping litter it doesn’t stink.The drawer is awesome because I can just pull the drawer out to empty the leavings and then put the drawer back and I don’t have to clean the whole litter box.I find that I can put an entire box of litter into the container and it serves my cat for an entire month. This box is awesome.As other reviewers say, it does scoop clean litter into the drawer. However, the convenience of the drawer overrides that problem. I also love that it comes with bags for the drawer the convenience of just pulling out the bag and replacing another bag is awesome. No scrubbing the drawer andhoping that the cat doesn’t use the box in the meantime is important to me.The drawer is difficult to pull out and push back in. The design for that needs to be improved a little, I think.The machine is a bit noisier than the crystal version, but not too much. Don’t all the machines make noise?In the beginning, I had a problem with the rake. Then I actually read the instructions and then the rake was no problem at all. As other reviewers have said, I have had some clumps get behind the rake and had to scoop them out. Fortunately, I didn’t get rid of my manual scoop! I think it’s because the rake is too small. It needs to be a bit taller. Orthe rake doesn’t need to slant as much as it does. The clumps seem to go over the rake just before it reaches the drawer.I have always had a litter mat in front of my litter box so I don’t notice an excess of litter outside of the box than before. I also ordered the hood so I don’t have any dust.Overall, this box is fantastic. I had the crystal version before as I said, and I like this one much better. My cat didn’t really like the crystal version because it smelled after a week. The clay is soft on her paws. After a month of use, I still don’t notice any smell and I just keep refilling it after two months of use I emptied it because there were some small little pieces that don’t scoop. The clay is much cheaper than the crystals, soI am enjoying a great savings. If anyone is interested in a crystal scooper I have two that I’m not using.😂

Wastes litter, loud, smelly – but beyond that, it’s great
I got this litter box after having the previous PetSafe version which costs a fortune to maintain because you had to keep buying the disposable trays and the crystal litter. I thought, great, same self-cleaning that works well for my two cats but less expensive upkeep!Boy, was I wrong. This is a disaster of a product, and you should avoid this one at all costs. The worst thing is that it burns through litter. It’s like coal in a furnace — you need to keep fueling it. I tried 3 kinds of litter: Arm & Hammer clumping, another crystal litter, and then the PetSafe crystal litter. Small kinds of clay litter gets everywhere in this box, and it’s a mess. The crystal litter isn’t as messy, but it’s expensive, and you go through it SO quickly.Also, it is loud and proud. Mainly loud. You hear it loudly and constantly. When talking to PetSafe, they said it’s due to a more powerful motor. Well, it’s so powerful that it’s so loud and it wastes litter. Congrats.Also, it doesn’t handle smells as well as other models. You absolutely need the crystal litter to better absorb smells, but then you keep going through it. Other litter didn’t do as well to absorb the smell, but nothing was great here.After spending an hour talking to PetSafe customer service where they went out of their way to say this isn’t a malfunctioning product, I feel even more insulted that they think it was working as it’s supposed to function.If this was the last litter box on Earth, I’d say still don’t get this model — just give up your cats because this box will drive you crazy. But instead, since there are other options, keep your cats but get a different litter box.

These are a life changer! I use Fresh Step Multi- Cat and it works well. I bought two, because my older, smaller cat is possessive sometimes, so it’s better for them to just have separate litter boxes.The cons are: 1) One of the rakes is a little off and I had to unscrew the top to access it and set it right. It is still a little bent so it’s pushing against the side of the box. Very annoying. 2) Litter and waste gets stuck on the other side of the rake, so you do have to make sure you pull out the rake and scoop up the waste on the other side sometimes. 3) If you choose to have a lid like me, you have to use a screw driver to shimmy plastic caps out of the grooves to snap the lid in. Very bad design! I had to scratch up one side of one of them to get the plastic filler cap out.Overall, I wish it was cheaper for how many problems they have, but it is still worth the investment! Keeping the bags in the tray make it super simple and easy to clean and empty. It’s cut back on cat smell in my flat significantly. Worth the buy.
