Good Budget Speakers, But Misleading Re: Active/Passive
I have a fair amount of Pyle audio stuff I’ve gotten over the years for various applications (boat, utv, garage, etc) and I got it for the same reason most people do–it’s relatively inexpensive for what you get. I didn’t get it because it offers top of the line power and sound–I think most people know that and don’t expect it at this price point.These speakers are pretty much par for the Pyle course–they’re nice looking, give decent but not great sound, and come at a good price point. The only issue I have is that they’re described as “active/passive” suggesting they can be used as either, or at best just makes it really unclear which they are. In truth, one speaker is active (powered), and the other speaker is passive (unpowered), and works by being plugged into the active speaker which then powers the passive speaker. It’s not unheard of for these type of budget speakers, but it really should be explained better.But otherwise, for some cheap speakers where you don’t need top notch sound and want a good value, these are a solid choice.

These Pyle off-road speakers are incredible — super loud, crisp sound even at high speeds, and the Bluetooth connectivity works flawlessly. They’re tough, waterproof, and perfect for my Jeep and ATV rides. Easy to install and look great too. A must-have for any outdoor adventure setup!

Great Active Bluetooth Speakers, but Not Really 1000 Watts
At the time of writing, there is some confusion in the product description, as it mentions both passive and active designs, which might lead buyers to believe these speakers can function as either. In reality, they are active speakers with a built-in Class-D amplifier and Bluetooth receiver. You only need to supply 12V power to one speaker, then connect the left and right speakers with two wires, and you’re good to go. The speakers were immediately visible on my phone’s Bluetooth list and paired instantly.Once paired, you can control volume and playback from your phone like any other Bluetooth speaker. However, there are no physical controls on the speakers themselves, so you must rely entirely on your device for adjustments. While they can technically connect to tablets, laptops, or other Bluetooth-capable devices, most users will likely pair them with a phone.For wired connections, the speakers have a 3.5mm analog line-in option. This allows them to integrate into an existing setup where volume is controlled by a central amplifier. However, even in wired mode, these speakers still rely on their built-in Class-D amp, meaning they are not passive speakers. Since the amplifier is located only in the left speaker, the right speaker functions as a passive unit, which theoretically could be powered by a different amplifier—but not both speakers together.Sound quality: The speakers are clean and loud, but nowhere near the advertised 1000 watts. Measuring max current draw at 1.7A on full volume, the peak power consumption was about 22W, and given the efficiency of Class-D amps, the actual RMS power is around 17W. The product spec claims 2 × 250W MAX @ 4 Ohms, but this is far from reality. That said, most manufacturers exaggerate speaker wattage, so I’m not docking points for this—just setting expectations.Installation was simple, and they feel well-built. I mounted them on my boat tower, and since they only need a 12V connection, setup was easy. I also wired them to a separate deep-cycle battery so I can turn off the boat’s main power while docked and still enjoy music without worrying about draining my main battery.For around $100, this is a great deal. You get a pair of active Bluetooth speakers that are waterproof, easy to install, and produce ample sound for most use cases. Despite the misleading wattage claims, they offer solid performance at a reasonable price.

Work well. Could be a little sturdier but they are not terrible. They are easy to use.
