Quality mic
I compared several mics and found this one the most versatile. It was easy to use the app to set the mic eq when using the usb functionality. You do have to be carful not to hit the mute button on top of the mic. It has only happened one time in the past few months so I personally wouldn’t let that stop me from purchasing. The mic comes with everything you need to get started at a great price. I would highly recommend this if you want quality sound at a good price.

Great Mic
I picked up the RØDE PodMic USB because I needed an upgrade from my bone conduction headset. It worked fine for just work calls, but I recently got into online gaming and started thinking about podcasting, so I wanted something better. This mic stood out to me because it has both XLR and USB connectivity, and I specifically needed the USB option for convenience, especially when I’m traveling.So far, it’s been great! The USB-C connection makes it super easy to take on the road, and I’ve been using it constantly for gaming, calls, and recording. Sound quality is solid, and it’s definitely a big step up from what I was using before.The only minor downside is that it doesn’t block out my dogs’ snoring in the background—but honestly, I can’t blame the mic for that. They snore louder than most people, and I don’t have enough soundproofing to deal with their little freight train noises.Overall, I’m happy with this mic. It’s versatile, easy to use, and does exactly what I need!

Quality is great
I have been using Rode products for a while and expected nothing less. The audio quality of the microphone is fantastic. I like the versatility of having XLR and USB connections depending on my situation. Currently I have it set up and connected via USB to a Mac mini and it sounds great. Connecting to the Mac was easy and didn’t require any additional steps or software install. I use this mic for my everyday use on Zoom meetings and recording audio for my YouTube channel. The only downside and it’s a minor one is the weight of the mic. My original desk mic arm would not hold the mic up and it kept falling down. I ended up getting a new arm and it works great.

I had high hopes but it didn’t work for me
Update: Tried the xlr connection option with a Yamaha ag03 mixer. I turned the gain all the way up and the recorded audio was not audible at all, I had to amplify it A LOT in post processing to actually hear my voice, but that also amplified the noise floor which added a loud hissing sound so the audio is unusable. The ag03 preamp can provide enough gain for shure sm7b which is notorious for needing a large amount of gain, so either this mic needs even more gain than sm7b or it’s broken.Original review: This mic feels very sturdy and high quality. It’s very heavy so a cheap mic arm probably will not work with it. The mic actually sounds pretty good and the zero latency monitoring works great. However, I had some trouble with the rode central software, which is used to adjust the gain and dsp effects. The gain is shown as 0db and I can’t adjust it all all, buts I could record with an audio software which makes me confused on why the gain is 0. I’ve also tried the rode unify software which acts as a mixer, but my microphone is shown as disconnected on the software even though my laptop recognizes it as an audio input. From the reviews I’ve seen online no one had this problem, so I suspect I got a faulty product, I’ve emailed Rode customer support and I’ll be returning it if the problem can’t be solved. Another downside is that the connection to iPhone can’t be done with the Apple usb c to lightning cable, so you actually need to buy a specific cable from Rode in order for the connection to work.

I Sound Like a Radio DJ in My Tiny Office!
I’ve always wanted to sound like I host a top morning show, but my recording space is basically a closet with a desk or cubicle with sound masking. Enter the PodMic USB—my new best friend in tiny office acoustics! This thing is so easy to set up, I felt like a pro broadcaster in about five minutes.XLR? USB? Sure, Why Not? I love that I can switch between my fancy audio interface when that is needed in more formal settings and a direct USB connection faster than I can pretend I’m talking to 10,000 fans when doing this sudden virtual web meetings.The internal DSP, plus the legendary APHEX Aural Exciter and Big Bottom? I’m not sure how they do it, but let’s just say my voice went from “bored cubicle dweller” to “smooth operator on the airwaves.” Right out of the box, might I add.The headphone port is perfect for hearing my voice in real-time—no more awkward echo when I’m trying to record that perfect intro. The dedicated volume control is a cherry on top!I tend to be…let’s just say energetic (bored) with my desk taps and hand gestures. The PodMic’s internal shock mount keeps my spirited performance from turning into an earthquake drill for those I’m on a call with.Overall, if you want top-notch RODE quality without needing a stadium-sized studio and budget, grab the PodMic USB. I have had other PodMics (XLR) and these live up to that same standard and quality. I feel like a legit voice actor every time I hit record.

Great so far (about 6 months later)! Consistent quality for streaming and voice calls, and easy to set up! It includes a RODE fitted external pop filter, in case you miss that (like me) in the listing.I wish I knew more about audio engineering to perfect the software settings, but I like that it has streamlined/simplified settings available to start. I’ve been using it via USB, but I will probably upgrade to XLR mixing to get the most out of it. So nice to have a mic that doesn’t pick up every sound in the universe.I have personally used the Blue Yeti and the Rode NT USB Mini and this was worth the upgrade. The build quality seems significantly better than the Yeti, where a loose port killed it. (The Mini is still fine, just wanted a dynamic mic).

It is like a tank!
It is really well built, sure it’s heavier than other premium mics out there. Output sound is great but it picks up a little bit of desk noise when used with a mic stand sitting in my desk. It’s also not great that you can’t use and record using both the USB and XLR at the same time.

I hooked everything up with ease and plugged it into my motherboard and it instantly started working, sounds fantastic to my friends, the application you are using will most likely be the bottleneck before the microphone quality is, it’s made of a very nice metal and the pop filter it comes with is very handy, I’m very satisfied and I recommend this to anyone that needs a good microphone without spending too much.

Lo puedes conectar por usb y por XLR pero no los dos juntos. Fuera de eso es muy bueno, hecho en Australia, y con todas las ventajas de un micrófono dinámico que si no tienes las condiciones óptimas que en comparación de un micro de condensador con el cual si no tienes un lugar bien aislado se va a oír todo. Me gusta muy buena calidad a un excelente precio, además el diseño es mil veces mejor que un Sure, a mi parecer.
