Hands down best hair clips I’ve ever owned
PROLOGUEI have thick curly hair and I’ve been through dozens upon dozens of hair clips throughout my life. I’ve always been in search of the Holy Grail of hair clips, fruitlessly, exhaustingly, seemingly without a glimmer of hope in the distance. I thought I found it with my last set, but as those broke one by one (over time, they weren’t *bad*), and I was down to my last one, I knew I had to restock. Lo and behold, they were discontinued. Weary at the journey ahead of me, wracked with paranoia over losing my last clip before I found another, I began my quest for the perfect hair clip. Again. After many nights of feverish hair clip research–digging through comments, reviews, articles, and weirdly outdated looking forums you’d think had been gathering dust since 2006 but indeed boasted comments from the modern year of 2017–I can happily say I’ve found it, truly, with these clips.REVIEWColor:I got the black and gray pair since I wanted more sedate colors. The gray is more like gunmetal blue. They’re not painted or anything so there’s been no chipping, colors are as solid and saturated as they were when I got them.5 stars for color.Durability:I got these at the end of June, and it’s August 28 at the time of writing this review, so I’ve had time to test them out. In that time, I’ve dropped these babies on tile, concrete, and asphalt; rested the full weight of my head against all manner of walls, from plaster to brick, with the clip in between; had them tumble and hit every obstacle on the way down; had them drop and go sliding across the floor…you name it, I’ve done it. At the beginning, I’d cringe as I helplessly watched them fall, convinced they were going to break in front of my very eyes. To my relief, they never did. They don’t even seem chipped or scratched, actually.5 stars for durability.Strength, Grip, Comfort:I was surprised at the strength of the grip from the outset. I could tell just from squeezing them open that they were going to be good, before I’d even put them in my hair. When I put them in…I knew for sure. My hair is curly and thick, and currently it’s around shoulder length. I was able to get all my hair into the clip and secure it against my head. It felt secure–in fact, it felt more secure than I ever thought it was possible for a hair clip to feel secure. So I immediately put it to the test and proceeded to shake my head vigorously in a fashion which I only assume would have scared away onlookers, had there been any. I have uploaded a reenactment of this event along with this review. Note: the unsecured hair at the top does fly a bit all over, but the clip itself, needless to say, stayed put. It didn’t even get a little loose, or shift a tiny bit. I was 100% confident in my head shaking and didn’t feel the need to dial it down so as not to overwork the poor hair clip. Miraculously, I did not injure myself in this endeavor.Additionally, it’s not difficult or painful to open the claws (I’ve had clips before that went overboard and took a lot of wrestling and hand cramping to pry open), and it rests comfortably against your head. They don’t slip and they stay comfortable over the course of the day. I’ve even gone swimming in them and had them hold against the drag of the water.I initially thought they were going to be too big, but they’re actually a good size. I included a picture, with a tube of Carmex lip balm for size comparison. Hopefully you are familiar, at least relatively, with the size of a Carmex tube.5 stars for grip and comfort.IN CONCLUSIONI’ve found my Holy Grail of hair clips, they blew my last set out of the water, I’m going to buy another set (probably the purple and amber ones), I hope they never ever get discontinued like my previous ones have, and it’s absolutely worth the $11 I paid for them. Thanks for getting this far in my review, it’s an essay so I’m flattered by your commitment. You’d think they’d paid me to write this, but they didn’t. I really did just spend forty five minutes banging out this review on a pair of hair clips I bought two months ago on Amazon. I had fun writing it though so I hope you had fun reading it, or if you’re particularly utilitarian, at least thought it helpful.

Holy grail of claw clips
I’ve been looking for a replacement for a Goody brand claw clip that lasted me over a decade – this has the exact same mold of very sturdy plastic that holds up to multitudes of abuse and works well on thick hair. Extremely pleased.

Two Years to Break!!! Best clip I’ve ever used!!!
I am here writing a review for these hair clips, because my 2nd one just broke right now. I purchased two clips on July 5th, 2018 – almost exactly two years ago! And just now the 2nd one pooped out. Since the moment I bought them, I have been using them NON STOP (just one at a time). Literally 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except during the part of my shower when I wash my hair. In the shower I clip it to the curtain lol. I even use it while sleeping, so I mean 24/7 sincerely. My hair is 48 inches long measuring from the base of my neck to my knees, and these clips are by far the BEST and ONLY clip that works for me. I tried so many others. These are comfortable, strong, effective, and absolutely on my “essentials” list. I can’t get ANYTHING done when my hair is down, and it gets knotted up within minutes, so I absolutely can’t be without my hair clip. These have just the right curve to them to not hurt my head, enough grip to hold my fine heavy hair all day long without slipping, and enough capacity and strength to hold all of it in place wrapped up in a loop. They’re amazingly durable, smooth, and there are no little hooks or spikes that get caught on your hair when you go to remove it or position it. My hair clip is almost as important as my contact lenses.Anyone with a lot of heavy hair would be delighted to use this clip. Definitely worth the money. I’m so relieved that these are so inexpensive, honestly.

I didn’t buy it for my hair.🤷🏼♀️
This is a really GREAT hair claw. I hesitated to leave a review for this product, only because my use for it is different from what most women are looking for in a clip of this type. This clip is strong but also smooth. There are no rough edges, which can be a problem with lesser quality claw clips, snagging and tearing the hair. I think it would a fabulous clip to hold even the heaviest hair. But my use for this clip is entirely non-hair related. I use it to temporarily hold up the hem of my muumuu house dresses. I have Multiple Sclerosis. I am in a power wheelchair. I can still move from this to my living room lift chair, and back again. I can also move to the toilet. That is really where this clip helps me. I gather the hem of my gown to my waist. Then I use the claw clip to hold it up and out my way when, well, I need it out of way. As I said, not hair elated. 😉 But this clip has been a real help to me. It holds the gathered fabric of even my heaviest gowns. (Denim?) It is also smooth enough for my most fragile. (Lace? Knit?) By freeing my hands from needing to hold my gowns, this clip does help preserve some measure of independence. I’m sure there must be more women in my situation that would also find this clip, and this information about it, helpful. But if you need a really great HAIR claw, lucky you. You have found it.

This hair clip is a bit on the pricey side for a claw clip, but its hands-down the best one on the market and can keep your hair up all day. I have thick and long Asian hair, so it tends to slip or doesn’t fit in a clip. This is my second time buying this clip only because it broke after I dropped it several times… One thing I would note is to look at the colour of the clip in the item name bc it doesn’t match the first product image. Amber is a deeper reddish tortoise colour. Overall, highly recommend this one!
