THE PERFECT BARRETTE!!!!
If you are like me and have been in search of the perfect barrette that ACTUALLY stays where it is suppose to, then you will LOVE Scunci by Conair No-Slip Grip Stay Tight Barrettes. The name says it all.First off…you get 3 colors, and we all know that most barrette colors are ugly, or come in a pack of 1 of a color you actually like.Second… There is silicone on the “inner bar” that is closest to your hair. In the past, i have had to use some flat type of clip to pull any of my hair back but it eventually it lets loose and the hair falls. Then you spend the rest of the day “readjusting” them, which is a total pain and make your hair look a mess.Third…you can use the Scunci by Conair No-Slip Grip Stay Tight Barrettes on ANY hair type…thick, thin, wet, dry, curly, straightFourth…they are very easy to use and put in. I tried while my hair was wet, which makes it thicker and harder to get in a small barrette, and i was able to get in on the first try and it closed very easy. Never moved from the time i put it in, until i took it out.Sometimes, you get the hair into a barrette you want to pull back out of your face, and in the process of trying to close it, the hair moves around and by the time you get it closed, it looks nothing like you want it to and the place has moved from you original placement.YES i know this is a lengthy review about a simple barrette, but i am banking on the fact there are other people out there who have experienced my same struggles and want to encourage them to try. highly recommend

Same old product that works well and stays clipped. Great for thick hair

Overall pretty pleased in comparison with other similar barrettes
I was pleasantly surprised at the effectiveness of these. I particularly like the silicone liner that prevents the barrette from sliding around. But after wearing them for a week, I have had a few little disappointments: 1) Two of the barrettes in my packet won’t fasten – the curved part on the end of them is closed up too tightly; and 2) While wearing some of them on two different occasions, I’ve had a barrette suddenly spring open and thump my head right before jettisoning across the room – it was startling the first time it happened, I thought someone had come up behind me and given a little smack on my head. So now I’m making sure I don’t try to put too much hair in the barrette in case that was the problem. All in all, though, I like these well enough to consider ordering again in the future.

Good, not Great…
I did a LOT of research on these barrettes, read many mixed reviews, and finally decided to just try them for myself. I had bought some cheaper versions of these by Scunci previously, they were like bobby-pins with a barrette topper. Those were terrible, had no plastic “grip” part at all, so your hair had no reason to stay in place. I thought these new versions would be a great improvement, because they boasted a “grip” part and “all day hold”. Well, not really… Now, this plastic grip lining is located around the bottom prong of the barrette and only kind of works. It it so smooth that it’s almost as if there isn’t a “grip” part at all. I was expecting a more factory glue-like texture, the kind that peels off of packages. I.e. something stickier. Also, the bottom prong is almost “U” shaped and not much of it is flat against the top, no pancake effect, and your hair will spread into the looped areas, giving room to come loose. So unless you gather a lot of hair and twist it around and really place the barrette tightly into your hair, it absolutely WILL slip out. You cannot just slide it up into your hair without twisting a large amount up first, especially if you straighten your hair. I have naturally wavy, medium-thick hair. When my hair is normal and dry, I still have to twist a bit of hair up first, but when my hair is smooth and straightened, I have to twist A LOT up, and even then it will slip out every now and then throughout the day and I must redo it. Also, to finally clip it into the hair is difficult and awkward, you have to force the metal bottom part sideways and up. So if you have very thick, curly hair, I’d say these would work best for you and anyone else will need to be patient with the product. They look great though, I have no regrets for having bought them, they are very stylish and sleek. They DO work pretty well too, just wish the “grip” was more effective, especially on a product from such a renown company/brand name. The barrettes are about 2.5 inches long and 1/3 inch wide and come in pairs of silver, tortoise-shell brown, and black.

Not slipping around
These really work well. Not slipping on both the thick side or the thin side. Other barrettes I’ve bought slid out constantly. These hold firmly without hurting. Really good product.

I love these barrettes. I am 82 years old with arthritis in my fingers and I have no problem putting these in or taking them out of my hair. My hair is thin and fine and these barrettes stay in place; they are flat enough to sleep on. They are just the right size for me so I can now stop buying others which keep falling out.

Son iguales a los que usaba de niña, hace ya varias décadas. Y justo lo que necesitaba. Imposible de conseguir en tiendas en mi ciudad al menos.

Because these are metal, I’m worried that they will break and pull at my hair. There’s no teeth or rubber on the edges to stop the barrettes from slipping. They are quite long, so not so good for the side of my head. Too thin to hold all my hair in a ponytail at the back.

Eu gostei da praticidade do produto. Tenho cabelo cacheado e ficou ótimo, não amassou os cachos.
