Use clumping cat litter.
This is one of the best investments ever. Easy to set up. Works perfectly, the deodorizer bar has a floral scent, very quiet, uses very little litter when it cleans. Sturdy. Entryway is a good size my cat is a little chubby and he gets in and out just fine. Clumping cat litter is a must the crystal kind just won’t work in here.

Way too glitchy.
I read all the reviews. I researched and narrowed my choice down to this litter box. I am typing this review as I am trying for the bajillionth time this evening for it to rotate and dump all the litter so I can package it and return it. This thing doesn’t return to starting position every time, and gives no reason for it in the app. In fact, it doesn’t even send you a notification from the app when the unit doesn’t return to starting position. Which is hilarious, because if it is full the app will send you 27 notifications in less than a minute that the bin is full. And even after you empty it, it tells you it is full and won’t reset. I have to reset it and take it entirely off the base 1-3 times every time I empty the bin. It is quiet…I will give it that. And the look is nice, but it is a TERRIBLE product. I bought a different unit and I am pretty upset that it uses the same app. Will see how this next one turns out.

Love it but…
Don’t get me wrong having an automatic litter box is much better than not having one! I did a lot of review searching and settled on this one. Once it was hooked up and working which was very simple to set-up I realized that the app doesn’t provide much information compared to the other boxes I read about. It does work well and stops if there is movement in front of the box. My cat was very curious the first few times it cleaned. She tried to climb back in and it stopped from spinning right away. The unit is pretty quiet while cleaning. The biggest noise is the waste falling into the bin below. Unfortunately regular shopping bags don’t fit well into the waste bin.

Not a fan
This litter box is really small, even my 6.6lb cat had trouble fitting. It also can only hold about half a bag of litter so it needs to be cleaned frequently and the litter gets trapped until the barrel and ground up. I would not recommend this particular litter box.

Love this box!
This box is saving my life. It took my cats a couple days to get the hang of it but it’s so easy to maintain and my house smells so much cleaner.

Good but could be better, not for large cats
Pros: love the concept and it does seem to work so far…though so far only one of our two cars has used it I think. It’s only been a couple days so I’m sure the other one will catch on.Smell is def better than traditional litter box and I love the self scooping.Cons: once I found the app, I’ve discovered it seems totally useless. Hasn’t tracked anything and every time I go to it, it says there’s an update available for my litter box, so I click to update and it times out – EVERY TIME. Nothing really works on the app which is really frustrating considering how much these devices cost.Also it stops mid-emptying if the cat walks in front of it, which makes him curious so he tries to go back in which gets messy and he gets litter all over himself.Lastly, the interior is NOT XL – our cats are not huge but are on the bigger side and we end up with a pile of litter kicked out the front from them covering up their poo.Update: we’ve had this for several weeks now and while it works well and is a game changer in terms of litter management, the biggest downside is that it’s too small for our cats, who are large but not huge (12 and 14 lbs). The primary issue is that they sometimes end up pooping on the outer edge because it’s not deep enough. So we will likely end up shelling out the big bucks for a larger version. Also the app finally works but doesn’t do a whole lot.

Bad quality and bad tech.
The product isn’t worth the money. It gets stuck when cleaning and i have to end it manually. Today I received 250 notifications saying that the bag was full, and i just changed it this morning!Finally it pours not only the poop but also the whole litter in the bag! Its the worst tech and quality. I even prefer traditional ones!!
